I'm fairly sure that's not how twins work unfortunately, Ash xD It's the body that gets tired and not the mind, so alternate sleeping patterns wouldn't work. Not to mention that I doubt there would be two conciousnesses (sp? xD) in one mind xD
Also, nice name! I could get used to that :U

But you get tired after a long day of physical activity, no? Obviously it's partly mental, but the body needs to sleep because that's when it repairs itself and things most efficiently.

I have an older brother and a younger brother. Nature was merciful and limited the amount of genetic material I share with them. I'm grateful I was not twinned with either one.

Re: Perfect Cynder's Precocious Camp of Perilous Crawdads
Opinions please, layered Weather Effects. Should I use them or not?
What I mean is, should I mix two weather effects when they are used close to each other, or just the new one completely replace the other. It doesn't seem realistic to me that a Rain Dance starting heavy rain should one turn later be instantly replaced by a raging sandstorm, then two turns later, become a blazing heat, then suddenly rain again, without any kind of upset. But if someone were to use Sandstorm, then Rain Dance right after, the two would go at once, and the sandstorm would get bogged down by the rain, creating a Wet Sandstorm.
My issues are that people wouldn't know I do this unless they follow what I ref, so might complain I'm not reffing properly (or something).

Re: Perfect Cynder's Precocious Camp of Perilous Crawdads
I wouldn't worry too much about people complaining after the fact. Every ref has their own kinks and quirks and a big part of battling is just rolling with the little curveballs the refs throw you. I don't have a problem with layered weather effects as a matter of principle, though I don't think they are necessary more realistic than instantaneous weather changes. For example, a "wet sandstorm" doesn't entirely make sense because if the sand is wet it's significantly less liable to being flying around and probably wouldn't chafe your skin so much... but cases of realism are wishy-washy so I wouldn't worry too much about trying to do what's realistic in this scenario. There are a couple exceptions to that, though: the only weather pairings I'd really avoid are Sunny Day + Rain Dance and Sunny Day + Hail, since those are pretty antithetical. (Although, now that I think about it, Sunny Day's Japanese name is "Clear Skies" so it probably doesn't gel too well with any other weather moves?) Still, I say do what you want.

personally, in the dragon summer battle I'm in, I kind of liked the idea of "wet sandstorm" when you reffed that. All-in-all, I'd say it's a good idea.

Re: Perfect Cynder's Precocious Camp of Perilous Crawdads
I love how you're questioning the way weather types can change quickly rather than questioning how Pokemon have the power to do that? xD
Seriously though, I think that fairly sudden changes/no changes at all are more realistic; if it's raining and a sandstorm is summoned, the sand would be too wet to move properly and it'd probably just be high winds with (possibly) a small amount of grit, which would be very interesting because of how it would affect accuracy and things (eg. flamethrower would get blown around by wind etc.). Hail and sandstorm would be very painful because you've got chunks of ice and grit flying around at high speed so it would obscure visibility and hurt more, things like that. I agree with the sunny day thing, it'd probably just cancel out the other weather types more than anything. Maybe using sunny day while something else is going on (maybe sandstorm would be unaffected?) would cancel out the previous weather condition and bring it back to clear skies, and another use would bring the affects of a real sunny day into play. I dunno, I'm just making this up based on what seems logical to me xD

New topic of discussion because Grey's tired of seeing this restaurant flounder about:
Combo moves. Scratch that, combo moves during the (most likely) last round of a battle. I've seen countless battles end when both pokémon are at their 30HP mark, and someone decides to use a super-combo to finish off their opponent before said opponent gets a chance to even move. It's getting a bit stale, methinks...

Yeah, it's easy to sub against them but easier to forget to sub against them. I'd hate to see late-game combos banned outright, though. Maybe try banning them in individual battles (like banned moves) and see how that goes? And perhaps they could be banned in all future tournaments? Idk.

Re: Perfect Cynder's Precocious Camp of Perilous Crawdads
I wouldn't ban them outright -- that'd just be overstepping my boundaries.
The problem I have with them though is that they've pretty much become the standard for battles now, and if we hafta preemptively counter something out of paranoia, then it cheapens the battle. Similarly to the "Snatch/Magic Coat non-damaging attacks" subs that people have been using lately.
I think that I'm gonna start implementing a negative priority for combo moves whenever I end up reffing them so matches can't be determined by whoever gets to go last during the denouement.

Yeah, it was the easiest way to add a bit of inobstrusive colour to the write-up. I'd rather use the HG/SS overworld sprites but the Gen V Pogey obviously dun have those, so I'm stuck with the box sprites.
