I have a suggestion that will probably be scoffed at...something in the ways of Raz's casino...you pay points to play a simulated game...could be something like catching, or fighting pokemon with your team...the higher the score, the more coins you get, and with coins, you can buy certain pokemon

There was at one point a huge Scavenger Hunt thing, which you needed like 400Yen to enter, but it never ended. There were compensation prizes handed out to people. I didn't take part myself, and the original topic no longer exists. If anyone wants to see how the old ASB worked, I think alot of the Businesses are still in the archive.

This is, to my knowledge, the only other forum around with Contest-style things. They dont work in with the ASB as far as I know and theyre very different from what I can see.

I'm not sure that I like the way they do it. I mean, sure, I'm used to our ASB version, but... the fact that you can use any Pokemon you want, even fake ones, is a little offsetting. However, I like the way they do judging - with more than one judge, so it's less subjective. I'm looking forward to seeing the Grand Festival pan out so I can see how that would work here.

Then again, it could just be a natural bias at work. Reading posts on the green forums always give me a headache in general.

Interesting- if everyone wrote their own appeals, it would save a lot of work. In fact, with that kind of set-up, there would be no need for a host, only judges. But the best coordinating, not the best writing, should be what decides things. I like the idea of multiple judges (what I'd call the American/w/e nationality Idol method) though.

I don't really like it, but the multi judges is great, but unworkable for every contest IMO.

I'd love to have more than one judge but it does make it trickier. Talking of which I am assured the first stage of the Grand Festival will be up either tonight or tomorrow sometime.

It should also be noted that after Stage 1, Grey will be taking Vermillion's place.


I think some things ruin green forum appeals. Like having a bubble machine x_X;; We toyed with having an item-based round in the Grand Festival in which you were given an item to build an appeal around (frisbee, selection of juggling balls, etc) but felt it was a) too limited and b) too limited.

Kevvaelli, I have asked for a new ref (like three days ago) but no-one has taken it up. I know I should be more patience, but it's just not in my nature.

The battle is a 3-on-3.

You'd need to be under 55% health on a second pokemon for it to be considered half way. Othwerise you'd get no points. Check the Rules Thread in the main ASB Forum for information on how many points you'd get.
