As the rain refuses to let up, all eyes are on Osloki as the little guy gets some much appreciated attention. Scuttle shoots an Ice Beam at the island deity while Bones slams the sand with his bone, sending a shock wave Osloki's way. In the end, he accepts both attacks as blessings. A goat would be better, but he's not picky.
Scuttle's Safeguard goes poof.

Scuttle clicks his pincers and begins to glow silver. Ooh, shiny! It looks like it would make a pretty nifty doorstop. Meanwhile, Bones goes on another Earthquake offensive, directing the attack at his opponent this time. Scuttle topples over. Okay, nix the doorstop idea.
Bones: <-8 EP>
Scuttle: <-9 HP; -4 EP; +2 Def>
With Bones already suffering fairly significant injuries, Scuttle decides to salt that wound with a rain-boosted Brine. The pungent attack comes pretty close to knocking Bones clear out of the battle, but the resilient Cubone manages to hold on just a little bit longer. Channeling his aches and pains into one heck of an attack, Bone tromps over to Scuttle and whomps him over the head with his trusty little bludgeon. Scuttle's eyes slide out of focus. Turns out the bone-wearing weirdo hits hard.
Miraculously, even with his mounting fatigue, Bones manages to stay in it! Wow! Could this be the beginning of a legendary comeback?

With just two Pokemon in reserve, Mike has got to do his best to make up some ground if he wants to win this one. With a flash of red, out pops a squiggly little Dratini that saunters into battle (inasmuch as a worm can saunter, I guess). Scuttle huffs, puffs and blows out a frigid wind that chills Kyrsten from head to tail. Sneezing, she fights off an incipient head cold with a sizzling bolt of electric current. Scuttle is promptly electrocuted. Om nom nom. Smells like a Red Lobster. At least the Mud Sport weakens the attack a fair bit.
Kyrsten: <-9 HP; -8 EP; -1 Spd>
Scuttle: <-8 HP; -4 EP>
Time for Scuttle to get tricky. Instead of outright retaliating, the determined crustacean merely thinks vapid, forgetful thoughts. The effect seems contagious. A dull expression passes over Kyrsten's face as she endures temporary memory loss. She tries to issue an attack, but can't remember how to use it. Not the best time to have a senior's moment.
Kyrsten: <Thunderbolt; Can't move!>
Scuttle: <-4 EP>
As Kyrsten struggles to regain her memory, Scuttle releases another chilling gust of wind. As it turns out, getting struck with an Icy Wind is not the best way to jog one's memory. Kyrsten pouts. Tough luck, my squiggly friend.

Tunuder, Twister, Dragon Rush
So what move boosts Special Defense by 2? That's a shame, it's a good move for what is now essentially Disable. Regardless, we're not gonna last much longer, so Scald x2 on Osloki, that should activate it. Then if you're still around, Flail about.
Yeah, but Disable has a different effect in ASB as well. :3

At this point, the mud surrounding Scuttle is less mud and more just globs of desiccated dirt crumbling away as I speak. Scuttle knows he's gotta make the next couple of actions count before he's sent away to the big fish fry in the sky, so he quickly provides Osloki with a steaming bath. Meanwhile, Krysten fires off a Thunder which decimates the remains of Scuttle's Mud Sport and shocks him for full damage. It certainly smells like a fish fry, that's for sure.
Kyrsten: <-10 EP>
Scuttle: <-18 HP; -6 EP; MSp no more>
Osloki: <+10 HP>
Once again, Scuttle hits up Osloki with a terrific blast of water, maxing out the tiki god's damage meter in the process. Osloki's eyes glow purple as he places a curse upon Kyrsten. The Dratini feels overwhelmed by fatigue and her type is mysteriously changed from Dragon to... Bug/Grass. Ouch. Doesn't get much worse than that. Kyrsten summons a Twister against Scuttle, but the weak attack doesn't really do a whole lot. There were perhaps better moves to be picked.
Kyrsten: <-20 EP; Bug/Grass; -2 EP>
Scuttle: <-4 HP; -8 EP>
Osloki: <+4 HP>
Scuttle begins flexing his pincers in giddy anticipation. It's Flailin' time! Kyrsten's eyes go wide as she realizes what's about to happen and buries her face in the sand to defend herself... as if that's gonna do anything. With tremendous skill, Scuttle wallops Kyrsten with a double pincer smack and throws her into the shallow surf. Yikes. After a moment, she pulls herself up and finishes Scuttle with a full-body tackle. At long last, Scuttle falls. At least he made his time with us count.

Rossy?
Oh yeah, I'm part of this ASB, how could I forget...
Alright, Bakphoon's time to shine! Rock Tomb it, then Brick Break, then Strength
Ok, Kyrsten I want you to use an Aqua Jet on Osloki and avoid the rock tomb, then I want you to use a Surf on Bakphoon, then use a Water Pulse on Bakphoon.

Time to switch up these shenanigans! Rossy returns poor, defeated Scuttle and sends out a flame-backed mammal of some sorts in his stead. Bakphoon beats his paws against his chest and sizes up his opponent... only to get whammed by a random-ass Stealth Rock. Ugh. Those things. Next thing Kyrsten knows, there are big ol' rocks zooming her way, ready to trap her in a fuggin' tomb thing. Water bursts around her body as she zigzags out of the path of the rocks and collides with Osloki. The tiki god happily accepts the blessing. Bakphoon dun look quite as pleased.
Kyrsten: <-2 EP>
Bakphoon: <-8 HP SRk; -4 EP>
Osloki: <+4 HP>
Hissing, Bakphoon tromps over to Krysten with anger in his eyes. This guy does not like to miss! He slams one of his palms into Kyrsten's side, but the attack doesn't do a whole lot of damage. Bug-type ftw! Kyrsten responds by summoning a big wave to soar out of the nearby ocean and smother Bakphoon. The Typhlosion squeals. Anybody got some water-wings to spare? Methinks Bakphoon might need 'em.
Kyrsten: <-4 HP; -8 EP>
Bakphoon: <-15 HP; -6 EP>
If Bakphoon seemed miffed before, he's downright livid now. Sopping wet, he pulls himself up and dive-tackles Kyrsten with all the Strength he's got. The Dratini is sent flying; however, as she soars backwards, she spits a Water Pulse right at Bakphoon. The attack brings him to the ground once again and induces immediate Confusion. He stumbles and sways. This... this ain't good.

Ok, let's hit him with another Surf, then then hit him with a Whirlpool, last smack him around with a Aqua Tail.
Subs, if he tries to trap you with a rock tomb again, Aqua Jet out of the way and hit him with that.

Alright, go for Flamethrower all the way, try not to hit yourself too hard with confusion, as in every five minutes.

The battle resumes and Bakphoon is wobbling around like he just downed a mickey of spiked Berry Juice. Still, he keeps his focus and breathes hit flames all over Kyrsten, who takes quite a bit of damage thanks to that unfortunate type souvenir left by Osloki. She then glows blue and a colossal wave rises out of the ocean and smites Bakphoon. He's too Confused to realize that it hurts like a bitch.
Kyrsten: <-20 HP; -8 EP>
Bakphoon: <-15 HP; -8 EP>
The water drains away, leaving Bakphoon washed up on the beach. Suddenly, he starts rolling round in a fit, scratching away at his face. Kyrsten takes advantage of this opportunity to cast out a terrific Whirlpool. It shoots across the sand like a wet and wild tornado before catching Bakphoon. It sends him spinning right round, baby, right round like a record, baby, right round round round.
Kyrsten: <-2 EP>
Bakphoon: <-6 HP; -3 HP Cfn>
As Bakphoon continues to spin about at the Whirlpool's mercy, his Confusion evaporates. Huzzah! He takes careful aim at Kyrsten (which is hard 'cause he's moving and such) and manages to score a hit with his next Flamethrower. Kyrsten squiggles up to the edge of the Whirlpool, waits for Bakphoon to come around and then smacks him in the face with an Aqua Jail. Dude, you just got Dratini slapped.
And with that, a crimson glow surrounds Bakphoon's body.

Why is there no fire type priority?
Regardless, launch a Blaze boosted Flamethrower. That should be enough, keep going for it, but if that damn dragon stalls to the last action, hit Osloki with Quick Attack. Otherwise, we'll worry about Osloki next round.
ok, Kyrsten let's go out swinging and use a mega combo, ExtremeSpeed+Dragon Rush+Aqua Tail. (let's aim for his chin for a mega uppercut)

As Bakphoon continues to spiral around at the mercy of the Whirlpool, Kyrsten kindly puts him out of his misery. Rossy's sixth and final Pokemon takes to the field in a flash of red. It'sElfieEifie the Espeon! Kyrsten doesn't even acknowledge this newcomer's appearance and instead zooms straight into Osloki, clonking her head against the statue and dealing it a blessing. Its eyes flash purple as it acquiesces. As it turns out, it's Osloki's lucky day as Eifie follows it up with a blessing of her own. Her Psychic attack causes Osloki's eyes to light up once again. Congratulations! You have avoided a smiting!

So Espeon VS Espeon, eh? I can dig that. It does get quite a number of moves, but is also limited by them as well.

It's been one year minus one day since the start of this battle and Mike releases the final Pokemon. With a flash of light, a bluish blob of goo takes to the field. It then glows bright white before morphing into a shiny Espeon. That's a pretty nifty party trick if you ask me. The two fierce Pokemon square off, building their defences by conjuring identical golden plates of light. They hang in midair and, like a moth, I'm tempted to throw myself into their tantalizing glow. But I resist the urge. Barely.
Goop: <-4 EP; LSn>
Eifie: <-4 EP; LSn>
Now that they've got the shields they need, Goop and Eifie exchange attacks. Blinding beams of red and green light snake across the field, passing through the Light Screens and doing only moderate damage. Still, they're pretty trippy. All we need is a smoke machine and some sick beats and we're all set.
Goop: <-6 HP; -6 EP>
Eifie: <-6 HP; -6 EP>
Moar attacks! This time, Shadow Balls whir across the field before colliding with Goop and Eifie. Goop's Special Defence takes a drop. Could this be the window Eifie needs to take home the win?
