Overhead, Reshiram and Zekrom continue to trade off moves. They each shoot off a Psychic, a Shadow Ball and a Dragon Pulse; fortunately, Reshiram both manages to avoid Paralysis and knocks Zekrom's Special Defence down a peg.

Meanwhile, you recall Sabaku into her Pokeball. The bubble vanishes as Z jets down to the shoreline where Brenton is standing. The energy bubble then reappears as the battle resumes. Brenton leaps in and strikes with a Brick Break, which Z counters with a Conversion 2. The Porygon-Z fleetingly glows pink, which causes the next two Fighting-type moves to do surprisingly little damage. Z then hits Brenton with a pair of Thunderous strikes.

At this close proximity, you can clearly see the Dark Stones floating around Z's neck. With these high-action fisticuffs, he doesn't seem to be paying very close attention to them.

"Well, I have all the information I need, then. Frankie, Tito... escort the human out of our settlement and then let him have his possessions back. Human, I wish for you to go to the Zigzagoon colony you're assisting and deliver a message. I am astounded and repulsed they had the gall to make contact with us today. After turning their backs on all proper, sensible Zigzagoons by devoting themselves to their Fountain, they thought we would help them once its waters ran dry? I have a different plan. If their colony is truly growing weak without the Soul Fountain's waters, then this is the perfect opportunity to strike. I hereby declare war!" she shouts to the thunderous applause of the audience.

"You can't!" Jackson exclaims. "Please, have some--"

"It is time for our blood feud to be settled! Too long have we allowed these abominations to disgrace our species! We will finish them while they're vulnerable! Now, leave and tell them what I have said today, human. And, in order to make sure they know we mean business..." Lady Bethany says as she turns toward Jackson. She raises her talons wickedly. "We will make an example of their emissary."

Jackson lets out a gasp as the crowd begins to whoop and cheer. You watch as Hadley's eyes brim with tears as she lets out a gasp. The noise is swallowed by the surrounding din.

"Also, keep in mind what you are doing here. You're planning on attacking what is basically an unarmed opponent! Where's the honor in that? Those Zigzagoon have literally done NOTHING to you, and yet you want revenge for that?"

If they still can't see reason after that, then I'll order Hadley to use thief to get Sandy's pokeball back, then I'll let Sandy out of her pokeball. If they attempt to attack, I'll have Sandy charge up a Draco Meteor while I say

"If you attack, I'll have my pokemon launch that Draco Meteor to the cave Ceiling, and the Ceiling will most-likely crash down on all of us. If it doesn't, then the Earthquake I order her to use most surely will. If you let all of us go, including Jackson, and give me ALL of my stuff back, we will leave quietly as if nothing happened. However, you better think twice before attacking those colourful zigzagoon, because you better believe me when I say I will be there to aid them, alongside the rest of my pokemon."

You beg for Lady Bethany and the Zigzagoons to be merciful.






"You could never understand," Lady Bethany spits. "You Pokemon trainers traipse around the Safari Zone sticking your noses in issues that have nothing to do with you. Until you've lived in the skin of a Zigzagoon, you have no business disrespecting us."

You then give a command to Hadley, who leaps into the thick of things and snags your possessions from Frankie and Tito. You summon Sandy from her Pokeball and, as she begins charging a Draco Meteor, you give a speech. However, as it turns out, Zigzagoons are just plain faster than Druddigons. Your speech is interrupted as no less than a dozen of the onlookers attack Sandy with Ice Beams. You shield your eyes against the bright, bluish light and, when the light fades, you see that Sandy has been defeated.

"I gave you an opportunity to leave, human," Lady Bethany growls. "You choose not to take it? Fine. It will be the last choice you ever make. Attack the human and the traitor!"

The Zigzagoons begins form a circle around you and Hadley and begin to advance.

Hmm, considering this is a cave, and it's considerably dark in here, and the zigzagoon that live here are most likely used to a low amount of lighting, a bright flash of light will most likely do more than enough to blind all the zigzagoon for a long enough time.

Hadley, shoot a Thunder straight at the ceiling. I'll be covering my eyes from the thunder so that I'm not blinded as well.

If it works, then we'll try heading over to Jackson, picking him up, and running out of there as fast as possible.

If it doesn't work (which I highly believe it won't, considering my past experiences), then let's try a blizzard, alright? You said you're strong, so let's hope you were right.

You recall Sandy as Hadley blasts a Thunder skyward. The dazzling light ripples throughout the cave and causes Lady Bethany and the Zigzagoons to be momentarily blinded. This gives you and Hadley a clear opportunity to scurry over to Jackson and begin untying him. However, the knots are tied rather impressively and the rope is quite thick. By the time you manage to free him, the Zigzagoons are already recovering from the Thunder and advancing fast. Hadley leaps in front of you and prepares to defend you when you notice two familiar figures near the tunnel entrance.



Looks like Veronica and Catherine found their way back to you just at the right time.

With a little additional firepower backing you up, you implore Lady Bethany to let you go. However, since it's still sixteen Pokemon against four, they don't seem particularly intimidated. At all.






Hadley uses Belly Drum and tries to follow it with Sunny Day, but since the cavern is closed off from the open sky it has no effect. Catherine and Veronica start letting loose with fire and electricity respectively, but the Zigzagoons merely follow suit with powerful attacks of their own. Chaos ensues as the Zigzagoons begin flinging Shadow Balls and Seed Bombs every which way. Using her superior strength, Hadley begins barrelling forward with a Rollout and manages to pummel over half the Zigzagoons, but the other half fight back with a series of Gunk Shots.

"This is madness!" Jackson cries. "We're completely outnumbered and all this noise is going to attract even more of them! We have to escape!"

Deciding you've had enough, you get Veronica to use Flash which dazes your opponents. With that, you and your party members hightail it toward the exit without once looking back. You return to the cavern with the guidepost and then leave the settlement behind. Making sure you put as much distance between you and the psychopathic rodents as possible, you twist down various icy passages and tunnels until you're quite certain there's no way your opponents can catch you. You then flop down against the nearest wall for a quick rest. As you recuperate, Veronica and Catherine relate their little adventure to you, explaining how they came across a girl and a whole slew of powerful Pokemon near an underground lake. After escaping, they were fortunate enough to come across a Jynx who told them exactly where you'd gone.

"Well, that's a relief," Hadley says with a smile. "Thank you so much for your help, you guys! Without all of you, Jackson would probably be... well, let's not think about that. We're all alive and well and that's all that matters."

Jackson, however, seems less optimistic.

"Except for the fact they just declared war on us!" Jackson exclaims, wringing his paws. "We're no closer to figuring out how to get the Soul Fountain working again, either. On top of that, we've consorted with outsiders. If the Elders find out about that we've been rubbing shoulders with a human and a Jolteon and a Druddigon and a Rapidash, we'll be exiled from the colony for sure... not that there'll be a colony for much longer."

As Hadley begins rubbing the mud out of her fur, Jackson paws the ground sheepishly.

"Listen, I didn't mean it like that," he murmurs. "You put yourself at risk to save me and I'm really thankful for that. It's my fault they declared war, not yours. Right now I'm just worried about my friends and family and I'm afraid about what might happen if they learn we've broken the ordinances."

"Well, let's worry about that later," Hadley says, looking nice and rainbow-y again. "We need to warn the colony. We also need to come up with a way to defend ourselves against the other Zigzaggons and a way to get the Soul Fountain working. We might need your help for that, BTPoke... if you're willing to lend a hand, of course. I realize how much you've assisted us already and I feel bad asking for more help. The only problem is, our fellow Zigzagoons probably wouldn't let Arceus himself inside the colony no matter how much we begged. They definitely won't allow you inside. If only there was a way to disguise you all like I disguised myself with the mud."

Alright then Rhode, time to be the epic pickpocket that I know you are! Use a combo of Thief and Fling to grab those stones and when Z inevitably chases after them use Megahorn to throw him back.

Brenton, be ready to catch those stones! Then if Z leaves the bubble to try to retrieve them get up a Protect as quickly as you can.

Reshiram, there's a chance that you won't need to fight much longer. Keep it up and use Protect, Dragon Pulse and Dragonbreath, but stop the second that Zekrom is set free.

As Z begins to crackle with electricity in preparation of a third Thunder, you change things up yet again. You swap out your Typhlosion for your Rhyperior and the bubble shifts so that it encloses only Z and Rhode. Z fires off the Thunder before realizing what's happened and the electrical attack does nothing to your rocky rhino. (Even though Z tried to AIM FOR THE HORN.) Rhode pounds his fists together and lunges toward Z, Thieving all three Dark Stones away from Z.

Up above, you watch as Zekrom registers this sudden change. He peers down at Rhode with a look of reverence. It's clear that his allegiances have shifted. However, both Dragons are still enclosed within Z's sphere of silvery energy.

Meanwhile, Rhode tries to pass the Dark Stones off to Brenton but it seems to be in vain. The energy bubble enclosing him and Z prevents him from Flinging the Dark Stones. Meanwhile, Z flails about in rage and begins darting toward Rhode with a look of malice in his eyes.

I just realised that you misread my commands two turns ago, I said to send in Rhode and not Brenton xD

I'll recall Rhode and hope that the Pokeball registers the stones as a held item and recalls them too. In the meantime, I'll send in Brenton and if can use Earthquake, defense curl and Rollout.

Reshiram, Zekrom, wait and see if the bubble disappears and see if it has any weak spots. Maybe try and act like one of you has fainted?

Before Z can steal back the Dark Stones, you raise your Pokeball and return Rhode. Recognizing the Dark Stones as held items, the Pokeball recalls them as well and safeguards them once and for all. Before Z can attempt any kind of maneuver, Brenton leaps into the fray; suddenly, energy bubble shifts yet again so it encloses him and Z. Your Typhlosion throws Z off-course by shaking the ground up wildly and then curling up into a ball and launching himself at Z. Z tries to strike Brenton with a Thunder, but your Typhlosion is simply too fast and merely evades strike after strike.

"I think I know what must be done," Reshiram says.

Suddenly, the Vast White Pokemon charges up a Fusion Flare and you watch as Zekrom, following his twin's lead, begins to charge up an accompanying Fusion Bolt. They then aim their dazzling attacks the energy bubble and you watch as it simply melts away. Swooping downward, they repeat their attacks against the bubble enveloping Z and Brenton. With another Fusion Flare and another Fusion Bolt, the Dragons manage to evaporate Z's shield so that he is once again vulnerable.

"No!" Z shrieks. He seems to have realized his odds have shifted. "I am through with you! I am through with you all!"

You watch as he turns away from Brenton and begins flying toward the exit. However, three familiar figures now stand at the cavern's only exit. None of them seem eager to let Z pass.



Moving in rapid blurs, Ernesta and Elmira create a Spider Web that blocks the mouth of the tunnel. Z tries to pull up, but he simply can't muster such a sharp maneuver: he collides with the Spider Web and soon becomes stuck to the silken strands. He flails and thrashes but cannot break free.

"Our power created him," Zekrom intones. "However, it cuts both ways. What we did can also be undone."

"Give the command, Cynder, and we can end this once and for all," Reshiram adds. "We will return him to his former state."

The two Pokemon begin charging up their signature moves once again.

I'm not too eager about consorting with anymore outsiders, but if it has to be done then it has to be done."

You summon Sandy and she confirms what you knew all along: that she can't fly. Hurr. Instead, Catherine seems more than up for the challenge of providing transportation. You mount your noble steed and she calmly leads you down the frigid mountain slopes and then takes off with incredible speed. You hug her tight around the neck and the landscape around you becomes little more than a blur. Soon, the white sheets of snow give way to greener, more verdant surroundings which themselves become gradually bleaker as you press onward. When at last Catherine comes to a halt less than an hour later, you find yourselves in a stark, dismal stretch of dry land. You see some hills to the north, patches of dry grass to the south, some rock formations to the east and a forest of twisted, leafless trees to the west.

A single Vullaby circles overhead.

You shield your eyes against the harsh light of the Fusion Flare and Fusion Blast. The Dragons' attacks glide through the air before colliding with Z in a blaze of orange and blue. When the light goes dim, you see that Z has once again transformed back into a normal Porygon. Steve falls to the ground and twitches a few times.



"Steve?" Salvador asks, approaching his former friend. "Steve, are... are you okay?"

"All I wanted was revenge," Steve whispers. "All I wanted was to make others feel... the way they made me--"

The potentially poignant moment is ruined as Spheal and Seel surface from the lake and begin applauding exuberantly.



"Dude, Cynder, that was way friggin' super neat!" Spheal exclaims. "The way you pulverized that evil jerkface guy? It was the sweetest thing! Do it again!"

"Hey, you pretend to be the Porygon-Z and I'll pretend to be the Dragons," Seel says. "Zap! Pow! Pyoo! Pyoo!"

The two Water-types start play-fighting in the shallows of the lake.

This large mountain is very cold and has biting winds nipping around. There is a layer of snow falling and many ice types can be found here. Also look for hardier bird Pokemon and a variety of tough foes.

A desolate stretch of rolling grey hills, littered with dead grass. Twisted trees litter the landscape and dying dirt blows by you-caused by some forsaken event. Surely nothing lives out here, right?

You once again mount Catherine and then shoot off into the Scarred Forest, which isn't much of a forest at all. You pass through the loose knot of withered trees in search of the Zorua warlock when, at last, something catches your eye. You soon see a quaint, ramshackle cottage nestled with a sign bearing the words Adelbert F. Zorua, Warlock Extraordinaire.
