Looking positively delighted, Zentillion hurries out into the street and lets out a roar of her own before entering the fray. Even more screams and shouts are heard. As your Tyranitar goes to kick a little ass, you examine the folder. On it you see the logging company insignia followed by some words stamped in red:

You open it and come upon a series of pages. The first appears to be an invoice detailing the capture and delivery of no less than one hundred Electrodes.

All essential personnel:

In the event of Virizion's death or if the inhabitants of Feizhi Outpost prevent our attempt to harvest their supply of lumber, Emergency Provisions Plan B will be enacted. Each machine has been rigged with an explosive Pokemon. At my discretion, I will set the timer on the explosives at which point all workers will have five minutes to evacuate the Mysterious Rainforest, leaving the machines behind. The explosives will then go off and immediately decimate all wildlife—plant and Pokemon alike. The land will then be repurposed as a new headquarters which our mother corporation will use to facilitate its attempt to seize control of the entire Safari Zone.

You rush out into the street to help Virizion. As you do, you see that all the men and all the Pokemon have already been defeated. They lie in a crumpled heap in the middle of the road, moaning in pain. Virizion is standing triumphantly over them with a gleam of victory in its eyes.



Zentillion is standing beside the Legendary Pokemon looking a little worn but ultimately exhilarated.

"Your Tyranitar fought formidably, human," Virizion says, inclining its head at Zent. "You've trained her well."

Virizion looks at the folder. The Grassland Pokemon frowns.

"This information is indeed troubling," Virizion confirms. "I do not like these schematics. The Electrodes seem to operate by way of a remote link. If one Explodes, all of them will Explode, which means we can't risk trying to dismantle the machines. I can sense the Rainforest Pokemon from even this distance and they seem... exhausted but determined, which makes me fear that they might be winning the fight against the loggers. We cannot let the humans go through with these provisions. You are correct. It is time to depart. Hop upon my back and I will take us there."

You and Zentillion board Virizion. With unfathomable speed, the Pokemon assumes a breakneck pace. Everything around you turns into a blur as you desperately struggle to hold on. Squinting against the rushing air, you watch as the greys of the Old Village give way to a smear of greens as you sprint closer and closer to the forest.

After no more than a handful of seconds, Virizion slows down. You examine your surroundings and realize you've reached the south end of the Mysterious Rainforest where you were assaulted by that so-and-so with the shovel. However, things look different. The loggers clearly won this battle after you departed: craters litter the battlefield and the tree line has been pushed back by no less than a hundred yards. A sea of tree stumps is splayed out in front of you, but the jungle still appears to be intact. The war continues.

You can hear shouts from humans and Pokemon alike echoing out of the trees. The roar of machinery swells in the early evening air and the occasional column of smoke rolls out of the foliage.

"What is the plan, human?" Virizion inquires.

Here's my idea.

We want the Electrodes to explode. But only when the machines are rolling back toward the masses of other machines. Here's my thing.

Either we flip the bulldozers over and leave them in ditches to explode-or if we can roll their front line back, and cause that to explode on themselves, that'll give us time to start a second wave.

If we blind their eyesight and strike fast, they won't have time to create a new path to travel from. Then that'll leave their Pokedefense...

"I like the way you think, human," Virizion says. "Grounding the bulldozers in ditches or accumulating them together might both work. Of course, I fear that the loggers' tactics might have evolved past line infantry. Look at the jungle. The columns of smoke are rising from various locations throughout the Rainforest. The men and their machines are evenly dispersed. It's pandemonium in there. It will be challenging to execute either plan, but I believe we can do it. Tell me where to go and I will follow your command."

You're right. They are dispersed.

So, we'll need to coordinate any and all efforts to isolate and move the machinery to areas where they will do minimum damage. Our best bet is to get in there, find Pokemon that are on our side, and attack on many fronts. That way, if one front falls faster than others, we can get to another spot and assist.

With a plan in mind, you enter the fray. As you pass through the tree line, you see any number of Pokemon grappling viciously as men shout commands. (Man, would it kill this company to hire at least one lady-logger?) Just ahead you of, a hodgepodge of Pokemon are tangled in a fierce brawl. It's difficult to tell which of them are natives and which of them belong to the loggers.






To your left, you see a massive backhoe. Two vaguely familiar forest Pokemon are working together to tip it over. That... could end badly.

"This is important information," General Roserade says. "We need to disseminate it as quickly and efficiently as possible."

"I just realized something," General Vespiquen adds. "I saw Company G taking control of a bulldozer just west of here. They were using it to fight the loggers' Pokemon, but it looked like they were driving it rather recklessly. We have to stop them posthaste before they lose control and set off the explosive charge."

"There's so much ground to cover," Virizion says. "We have to warn the locals about the Emergency Provisions before they do something reckless. Do you think we should split up?"

You hop upon Marauder and head west as the gang chooses to split up. Soon, you spy a clearing where an errant bulldozer appears to be doing some damage. A lone logger watches in frustration as his own bulldozer scoops up his Pokemon and tosses them aside.




The Pokemon crammed into the bulldozer's cab look... awfully familiar.




Snivy, who doesn't seem to have noticed you just yet, appears to be steering the roaring machine. However, she seems to be driving it more like a Ferrari than a bulldozer, and you begin to fear that the machine might tip if she doesn't ease up on some of those tight turns.

As the logger's Haxorus, Gliscor and Sneasel lay in a crumpled heap thanks to Snivy and the bulldozer, you and Marauder make your approach. Realizing that the odds are stacked against him, the logger recalls his fallen partners and tears off into the forest. Well, that's one logger who's been put out of commission.

"Look, guys!" Snivy shouts, pointing at you excitedly. "Look who it is! He's back!"




Snivy waves at you, entirely distracted. She doesn't seem to notice that the bulldozer is speeding toward a colossal boulder right at the clearing's edge.

You shout at Snivy, but she can't seem to hear you. You order Marauder to use Hyper Beam, but at the last second, you feel something green and strong grab onto your ankle. The same green thing grabs onto Marauder, hoists the pair of you into the air and then Slams you to the ground. Aching all over, you look up and stare your aggressor in the face. Again, he also looks familiar.



"I won't let you and your bird attack my troops, logger!" Commander Tangrowth shouts at you.

Apparently wearing a logger uniform can also have negative consequences...

You make Commander Tangrowth aware of his massive blunder and check on Marauder to make sure his wings are alright. Your bird is slightly dazed but appears to have sustained no lasting injuries.

"I apologize, human," Commander Tangrowth says, inclining his head. "I did not recognize you. I thought you were ordering your Staraptor to use Hyper Beam to harm Company G."

Speaking of Company G, you look over to see how the bulldozer situation is going. Snivy appears to have finally seen the boulder and is turning hard on the wheel. The heavy machine takes a sharp right, missing the boulder by inches, but the sudden turn ends up being its undoing. Company G just barely manages to leap out of the bulldozer before it tips and slams to the ground.




As the tipped bulldozer starts smoking, its underbelly becomes visible to you. Attached to a series of wires and circuits is one of the logging company's Electrodes. The red and white Pokemon is squinting and appears not to have appreciated the abrupt and jarring movement. Electricity sizzles around its body.



You see a tiny LED display mounted right beside Electrode with some foreboding words on it:

"That might set it off!" Snivy responds.

1) Use Ultra Ball to trap Electrode, and then THROW THE BALL STUPID FAR AWAY...
...BUT IF 1 IS IMPOSSIBLE...then 2) Swipe at wires with sword.

...true but if protect can cut off a skill swap... and I don't pretend to know everything, but that's what I'd do (well I'dve actually tried finding a pokemon with damp first but too late for that now) trapping it in an ultra ball might work better tho too bad you don't still have the great ball

Marauder throws up a Protective shield just as Electrode takes down his. Commander Tangrowth and Company G cower with fear as the timer reaches zero. Suddenly, Electrode begins to shine with a blinding white light as it prepares to Explode. You scrunch up your eyes and prepare for the impact.



It doesn't come.

Electrode's light goes dim.

Nothing happens.

Once again, Electrode scrunches up its face and prepares to detonate... but can't.

You blink a couple times and share a puzzled look with Marauder.
