Win this for you? Really? What are you proving? If Virizion were to finish this fight. It wouldn't be a win for me. If my Zent were to win this fight-it wouldn't be a win for me. Its their victory. Its their life. Its their choice and I stand BY them, not BEHIND them. Did you see me run when all the chips were down? Hell no.

Harial. Telekinesis on Ho-oh. Hold it in place. Zent, Maraud, with me. Viriz, stay clear, yer getting hit too much.

Ho-oh look. I know right now, I'm holding you down. But..I'm going to let up. When I let up, I want YOU to make the choice. YOU attack me, or you don't. That's it. Because, like that Electrode that exploded earlier..that HE abandoned, he will leave you too.

If you don't fight. We'll walk away. Leave you and your beautiful feathers alone...and if we meet again, it'll be on your terms,which is how I'm thinking you always liked it.

Harial holds Ho-Oh still with Telekinesis as you appeal to the bird's sense of reason.



"It won't work," the Boss says, sneering. "It's bound to obey me. It's mine."

Suddenly, Harial drops the Telekinetic hold. Zentillion and Marauder stand ready to see if it attacks.

"Ho-Oh, vaporize them with Sacred Fire!" the Boss shouts.

Ho-Oh, however, remains stock-still as though still under the effects of Telekinesis. It peers from your party to its master, clearly unsure what to do. The Boss recognizes his own Pokemon's hesitance and tries to egg it on, but Ho-Oh still does nothing. Staring in disbelief, the Boss buries his face in his palms. After a moment, he pulls out his rainbow-coloured Pokeball. You can see the faint glimmer of tears in his eyes.

"I see. You've let me down, Ho-Oh," the Boss murmurs. "Now, return."

However, Ho-Oh lets out a fierce squawk and swoops toward its master. It plucks the Pokeball in its owner's hand and shatters it in its talons. The brightly coloured pieces of metal fall to the ground. The Legendary Pokemon turns to the Boss and addresses his master for the first time.



"You've let me down," Ho-Oh states before spreading its wings wide. It takes off into the night sky and soon becomes indistinguishable from the vast array of stars overhead.

Quivering, the Boss falls to his knees and holds the pieces of the broken Pokeball in its hands. He knows as well as you do that it's finally over.

AS FOR YOU! I'm glad I didn't have to break a Legendary's spirit in order for it to see its true purpose. You can't even see when good worthwhile Pokemon are willing to work hard for you. That Electrode...and MANY MORE still wanted to believe in you, but you let them down. And then you expect Powerful beings like Ho-oh to just win in a fight? You don't even disgust me with your pitiful ways. -.-

Virizion trots toward the Boss. He peers at the broken man solemnly.

"I really did care about that Ho-Oh, you know," the Boss murmurs quietly. "I'd known it for quite a while. I... don't know what... I'll do without it."

"Legend states that Ho-Oh will present itself to a pure-hearted trainer," Virizion says. "Leave this place. Better yourself. Learn to garner the respect of your Pokemon and yourself. If you want to reclaim what you've lost, you need only work for it. If you do so, you may be able to earn Ho-Oh's friendship again."

You then notice that Artemis and Apollo are nowhere to be found. Suddenly, they return to the clearing bearing herbs that they dispense to Virizion and your Pokemon.



All are instantly restored to fall health. They then give an Energy Root to the fallen Electrode whose health is immediately replenished. The Boss slowly approaches Electrode with an air of hesitance around him.



"Electrode," the Boss says. "I'm... terribly sorry to have doubted your worth. You're not garbage. And... if you wanted... I mean, if you like to train with me again... I understand if not, though."

"Electrode would be happy to serve master," Electrode says.

"Not master. We will be partners," the Boss murmurs. "Thank you, Electrode."

With that, Virizion lets out a powerful Roar that quells the fiery wall surrounding the clearing. Nodding apologetically to you, the man takes off into the night with his partner by his side.

"Human," Virizion says. "Marauder. Zentillion. Harial. I cannot laud you enough for what you four have accomplished. I and all the Pokemon of Feizhi Outpost owe our lives to you. You showed courage and shrewd judgment when even I was flagging. I own nothing in this world, but I would like to attempt to repay your bravery. Is there anything you would like?"

They don't seem aware of the battle you waged against Ho-Oh or how close they once again came to sure destruction.

"Hey!" comes Snivy's voice as she wiggles her way out of the crowd.



"I was wondering when you'd show up!" she exclaims joyfully. "Can I grab you a drink?

She gestures to a pewter bowl of punch sitting a few feet away.

When you wake, the sun is basting your surroundings in hot light and the jungle is buzzing with activity. Your Pokemon are dozing not far from you. Judging by the placement of the sun in the sky, it's almost midday.

Gah! You overslept!

You and your party members hop aboard Marauder who beats those mighty wings of his and fires off into the sky. You chart a path due north, departing Feizhi Outpost one final time. The jungle soon becomes a distant speck as the land below grows decidedly less lush and tropical. The ground eventually levels out into a flat, even expanse as you touch down upon familiar territory. As you dismount, you realize you've returned to the spot where all of this began. It's warmer now than you remember it being.

There seems to be nothing here but open land... until you hear it.

The distant beating of hooves.

Zentillion and Harial shuffle off to the sidelines and begin cheering on their friend as he steps up to the plate. Letting out a shriek, Marauder succeeds in Intimidating his foe. Then, demonstrating his blistering speed, Marauder swoops toward Virizion. However, the Grassland Pokemon isn't exactly a Groudon, either: he shows off his impressive Agility by leaping clear over Marauder, deftly evading the attack.

Virizion then begins to spout a sharp and biting Taunt that cuts down Marauder's attempt at a Sand Attack before he can even flap a wing. Once again, Marauder dives toward Virizion swiftly and this time lands a hit, raking his talons across the Legendary Pokemon's back. Virizion's skin sudden grows rough and craggy like the edge of rocks as he hurls his body at your Staraptor. The bird lets out a dazed squawk.

Virizion glistens and performs a combo strike, forming not one but two translucent barriers that hover before him. Marauder swoops in and lands a Steel Wing, but the Reflect filters out a hefty portion of the move's damage output. Marauder then flaps his wings hard and attacks with a razor of air but even as the move hits the Legendary Pokemon's critical weakness it's still filtered out by Virizion's Light Screen.

Squawking irritably, Marauder then flaps his wings hard and kicks up a blistering wind. Bracing himself, Virizion retaliates with a concentrated blast of Fighting-type energy. Marauder is promptly knocked out of the sky.

Virizion bounds into the air and kicks his hooves together, creating four clones. Marauder swoops in and tries to annihilate Virizion with a graceful Wind Attack, but the move only manages to tear right through one of the illusory fighters. Feeling confident, Virizion unleashes an array of Hidden Power. Purple energy bursts against Marauder's plumage but has no effect. Your Staraptor then swoops in for a hard-hitting physical strike; overcoming the odds, he hits the real Virizion, causing the Legendary Pokemon to skid backwards through a patch of dandelions. Marauder suffers a little recoil in the process.

Without skipping a beat to mourn the loss of his clones, Virizion pulls himself up and leaps upon Marauder. Engaging in some Close Combat, he begins kicking and flailing with a series of random physical strike. Marauder manages to wrestle out from under Virizion's hold and kicks up another Heat Wave.

With that, Virizion's screens vanish.

Wielding its Sacred Sword, Virizion stampedes toward Marauder and deals a prompt slice-and-dice attack. Using deft aerial prowess, Marauder lands a quick hit on Virizion that he promptly follows up with another Steel Wing. He begins to glow silver as his Defence takes a turn for the better. Virizion once again leaps upon your bird for a bit more close-quarters combat. Marauder tries to go in for a Secret Power, but a sudden Roar from Virizion intimidates your bird into deferring its attack.

Virizion steps forward to attack, but Marauder eclipses himself in a searing Heat Wave. Singed by the blistering wind, Virizion leaps backward and changes his course of action. He begins leaping and prancing in circles, upping his offensive prowess. As this goes on, Marauder returns to the ground and begins to accumulate health. Virizion decides to follow suit, crouching down to the ground as he attempts to Rest.

As his opponent slumbers, Marauder barrels toward Virizion with a powerful physical strike. Virizion, meanwhile, begins to mutter in his sleep and rise to his feet like a charmed puppet. In an impressive display of Strength, he uses his horns to see Marauder halfway across the field. Even asleep, he's an impressive Pogey.

Virizion continues muttering in his sleep. This time, he waltzes right up to Marauder and wraps his mouth around his wing, draining health from his opponent. Taken aback by the bizarreness of having a slumbering pony-thing munching on his feathers, Marauder draws his wing back and flaps his wings hard, summoning another razor of air. It drives hard into Virizon and tosses him backwards.

Suddenly, Virizion wakes up. Marauder swoops in for a speedy Quick Attack as the Legendary Pokemon begins to glow white. He then throws his entire body forward into a Giga Impact, tossing your birdie skyward. As Marauder sets itself right from that attack and watches as Virizion recharges, he deals another Air Cutter. He lets out a weary chirp.

It becomes apparent that fatigue is starting to set in for both fighters.

I am humble enough to recognize the futility of carrying on this fight any further. Human, you have earned the privilege of accepting me into your squadron, just as I hope to have earned the privilege of joining you."

The Legendary Pokemon closes his eyes. He looks ready and content.

After a bit of a hike, you come upon a glassy lake in the middle of the woods. Looks like your navigation skills aren't too shabby. Even from fifteen feet away, you see numerous Pokemon swishing around beneath the calm and clear surface merrily. They seem pleased by the warmth of the coming spring.
