Seems America hasnt discovered momentum yet as anything other than what they call it when your fans are happy.

The Roughing the passer call and to be honest the 'running over the holder' during that Field goal attempt was just a whole case of crap. I wasnt aware pro football players could ignore the laws of physics and inertia to stop on a dime. Especially when stumbling. If thats the case then good call. Or was it just Big Ben's patented 'penalty-shield' (available at wallmart. $9.99)

Honestly i wanted the Cards in this one. I dont have a team of my own as such but im an underdog kinda person. I wanted the Giants last year and the Cards this year but when you have 3 guys covering 1 receiver and noones near him when the ball comes his way....theres no excuse really.

On a related note next years London game is already sold out. WTF! I never even knew tickets were on sale lol. Its the Patriots though i forgot who they are against sometime in october....i think.

The Steelers gained 398 yards tonight. If you count the 106 yards in penalties against Arizona.

That pretty much says it all.

Made me laugh seeing Harrison just before halftime after he scored. I thought football players were Athletes or does that not apply to Linebackers? He does a 100 yard Dash and collapses followed by Oxygen on the bench lol.

Those defensive guys sure dont like to run do they lol.

That last 'fumble' capped off a horribly officiated game in a horribly officiated year. Just watching Larry Fitzgerald's reaction while he watched Santonio Holmes pull in that touchdown broke my heart. What a damn shame.

Anyone else notice Springsteen got boo'd off stage too. Guess the crowd really wanted 'Born in the USA' lol. Though between Powersliding into a camera and being too out of breath to sing im guessing they may have been more dissapointed if he had lol.

I never thought it was possible for me to hate a team more than the Pats until last night. The Super Bowl was a disgrace this year between all the bad calls and the final plays of the game. Granted it'll take a huge post and lots of video to point out everything but there is one spot where I am very sour. That final Steelers "touchdown" was a pass caught out of bounds. For it to be legal both feet have to be down and the way the guy fell and his feet moved in one shot suggested one foot was not down. Also Warner's final throw was an incomplete forward pass as opposed to a fumble. I'm not saying it would have changed everything but there is the chance that had that play been called properly it would have given the Cards one last shot at pulling a miracle out of their ass.

As for Big Ben I can't stand him. I'd have more respect for him and what he's done in the NFL if he wasn't a cheater. To this day I say his rushing TD in SBXL was a bad call (hmm.....seeing a theme with the Steelers here?). He was down on the 1 yard line and it was called a TD. The play was chalenged and a replay CLEARLY SHOWS HIM INCHING FORWARD AFTER THE PLAY WAS DEAD. Yet for some reason it stood and from that moment on he lost all credit to being a good player in my eyes. Youngest QB to ever win the Super Bowl? Without a doubt so I won't take that away from him (23 at the time of SBXL). However he's also the worst QB to ever win the Super Bowl:

    Super Bowl XL stats:
    22.6 pass rating, 9 for 21 with 2 int.

He was a smug piece of shit when he played for the Miami Ohio Redhawks and he's an even bigger one now. Granted I guess when your the youngest QB to win the Super Bowl you get the right to be a little smug but refer back to SBXL for my reasoning as to why he can take his rings and shove them up his ass.

To be honest Rudy, Holmes feet were both in. Ive seen enough Video-ref decisions from watching Rugby to know that one angle doesnt always show the whole picture. I was sure it was gonna be waived off untill the ground level from the other end of the field was shown. That showed both toes on the floor. If you want to say anything about that play was wrong then ask why the Cards had 3 guys covering him and noone even got close to him when the ball came his way.
They were only lucky he didnt catch it on the exact same play at the other side of the field the play before.

But yeah, some of the decisions were terrible. Ive only been watching American Football for about 2 years and even i could tell they were just plain wrong.

Its like one of the commentators for the BBC said. Apparently they took the 'accidental Face mask' rule out this year. To get called for Masking you really have to get a hold and yank the guys head around, and that sure as hell didnt happen when Arizona got called for it.

Theres not much a defence can do when the Ref is marching them back down the field.

Super Bowl ratings down from last year's high

Now, if the Nielsen people rated whether or not the game was worth watching....

I'll tell you this much. This Superbowl was the first American Football game I have watched from start to finish. My interest in the sport so far has been limited to NFL video games and the occasional highlight on satellite television. However, on Sunday I was invited to go to a friend's house, chug some brews and watch the game.

And honestly? It was very entertaining. Yes, I can understand your grief over the over-the-top officiating, but I didn't really care to be honest (even though I was supporting the Cardinals). However, it was a really good introduction to the sport, and I'd gladly watch it again.

Well, I suppose it probably was a pretty good introduction to the sport. You'll likely have fond memories of this game, so I won't spoil 'em for you.

Anyway. Since any topic can become a political discussion, I'll point out that Bank of America blew millions to sponsor this year's Super Bowl. Anyone who's been paying any attention at all to the American financial scene knows why people are furious.

EDIT: Madden game picks Super Bowl winner, nearly nails score

    Hale(y) To The Chiefs

Well, I'm not sure how well Haley will do, but this atleast means that KC is sticking with Thigpen. I don't know about you guys, but I think Thigpen could be a star farther along the line.

Next year I am sticking with whoever wins the Madden Bowl. GOD DAMN CARDINALS LOST ME NEARLY 500 DOLLARS

We may as well come full circle with this topic... Cynicism shouldn’t lessen appreciation for Favre.

Is he really done? Is this another false conclusion? Find out... next season!

It's a bad idea. A very, very bad idea. The kind that can further tarnish his legacy, and end his career on a sour note. Selfishly though, I hope he comes back, simply because I reckon a league with Brett is better than a league without him. Squeezing out one more year is a good thing for me.

And how good would it be for the Vikes, eh? They put a band-aid over their QB gaffe for one year, and since the Jets cut him outright, they don't have to adhere to any of the ridiculous benefits they would have had to sacrifice to Green Bay. Take a playoff-quality team with a superstar running back and mighty defensive line, add a hall of fame (though over the hill QB) and it looks a far more realistic chance for a championship than the overrated Jets of last year.
