With Nisashi asleep, Gu was free to explore the arena a bit more. Yeah this place was creepy looking-but it wasn't bad at all really. But before he could put down roots-so to speak-a Streak of Metal crashed into his head. That hurt, but Gu didn't fret. He dug up a nice hole and hid in it.

No fear here. Nisashi seemed unable to act with Gu hidden away for now. He did...something... but it was all in vain as Gu waited to rise up from the ground. That he did, in a fearsome way. Up he came...

...and with him came a multitude of spheres. Some shot skyward and some crashed into Nisashi at the onset. On the way down, the ones that passed slammed Nisashi back into a prone position. The bug still didn't stir. Instead he rolled around-threads tearing off of him left and right.

Gu felt confident he could win this battle. With Nisashi still asleep, he could relax with the setting sun. Raising his arms up, he began to Synthesize those very necessary nutrients his body needed to survive this calamity of a battle. Nisashi still slumbered, paralyzed once more

Guy skittered over to a seemingly healthy tree as the sun set, plunging them back into a domain of sinister darkness. Nisashi seemed uneasy in his sleep, and for good reason. Being asleep here allowed you to be susceptible to the strange evils this place reeked of.

Glad to have gotten some rest-Gu stood up, to a dreadful sight. The skeletal eyelids sprung open, and just like that, the crimson opponent was gone.

Gu turned around, and watched a shovel shaped pincer slam into his face, scarring his body with a horrific energy. It was so powerful it sent Gu flipping head over heels for what seemed to be hours. He landed-hard on his back, breathing heavily. When he could move his legs correctly, Gu flipped over and weakly fired a few Flying power orbs at his opponent for small damage.

Gu Goomba didn't like this. Backing up from the oncoming wrath of Nisashi, he began to pump out a veil of Spores. Nisashi watched carefully, and timed his approach. Risking another deluge of sleep inducing hallucinogen, Nisashi's attack flung him through the Spore veil and hit the bug square in the face. The Spores effect didn't go unnoticed, as Nisashi sneezed in frustration. He backed away, and fell out, asleep again.

Too bad for Goomba though. He was done for.

Passed out on the ground, Nisashi seemed to be slowly ebbing into the darkness. His trip would be hastened by the onslaught of Fire to come billowing down upon him, as Rawk Hawk wasted no time in firing that massive blast.

One would hope this Pokemon would wake up, but no...no he doesn't. A Second Blast fills the area with light for a moment-flames catching on dry wood now. A searing mark is left on Nisashi's back as well..

Man-just how healthy was this Scizor. A third Blast put Nisashi right in the lane for critical-but then-and only then-did the Pokemon spring up! Burning from pain and feeling like he'd been melted-Rawk blasted forth Super manstyle, and slammed his redhot body into Rawk' pincers first. The two rolled down and Rawk was able to kick the weakened Scizor away, but not without feeling some severe pain.

Whoa whoa whoa, how does a STAB'ed, 4x effective attack with a base power of 120 from a fresh Pokemon used three times straight do barely as much damage as a single attack with no super-effective power? I know he's Swords Danced to death, but Fire Blast doing 13 damage to a Scizor when Aerial Ace did 18 damage to a Paras? How is this being calculated?

With the final competitors out, it seems the mountain has intensified its dark grip on the whole stage. Madrame steps free of the dead trees, and wastes no time in trying to assert his massive dominance. The general KFC insult s are tossed out, but Rawk was here first. He lets that be known with a Roar that not only hurts, but its kinda makes the Tyranitar slide a half step back.

Despite the lesser energy, Rawk focuses on his target, more specifically, how his target will crumble like the carapace it wears on its back. Ikkaku however, doesn't take this into account, he drags his feet slowly and clumsily, until the speed catches up to the body weight, and then exceeds it. Grace is gained, and movement becomes fluid. Eyes shine with a resonating darkness that only true blackhearts could appreciate.

Rawk was not one of those darkbleeders, and showed Ikkaku this with a uppercut to Ikkaku's midsection. Powers of incalculable strength went into that punch, and Ikkaku lifted off the ground, and landed on his side.

Standing up didn't take much for Ikkaku though, this was already starting to look like a do-or-die event. His tail went up first and with it came a strong wash of water that slammed agasingt Rawk's left forearm. The attack hurt but Rawk seemed ready and let his arm roll with the blow. Rotating his hand, Rawk grabbed the end of Ikkaku's tail, and spun around with it in tow, hard enough to Counter the upward swing and slam that tail back on Ikkaku's own rear. Rock spikes broke off of his back, and the megabeast roared.

Ikkaku wasn't giving up this battle to no overgrown avian. Stepping backwards as he regained his footing, the massive therapod welled up his fighting spirit into a massive punch. Feeling fearless, Rawk Hawk just stretched and Bulked up his muscles, staying relatively still. This allowed the Punch to hit home right in Rawk's left arm, sending him into a spiral. Landing on the ground, Rawk coughed up...blood? No way. That was utterly confusing, that should not have hurt as much as it did.

Rawk shook his head and set his feet. Hands clasped in front of him, and energy began to spiral around himself. Ikkaku smirked, and merely let out subdued roar, which held a sparking surprise. The Thunderwave struck the confused Rawk, whom was facing the opposite way. Looking back at the target, Rawk just fell over in laughter. Huh...that sucked..

Ikkaku stomped over, and watched as Rawk rolled over back and forth. Lifting that hassive crag-gnarled tail-Ikkaku slammed it down on Rawk multiple times, forcing the Pokemon to swing back and defend himself. One of those fierce fighting fists struck the Stony Tail, and sent a shiver of pain up Ikkaku's back. He backed away from the battered Pokemon, watching the bird finish its dust bath.

Ikkaku stared down at Rawk Hawk. Rawk still had a moment of lucid thought, and tried to focus his energy into surviving the onslaught soon to come raining upon him. The attack however, came from below, as Ikkaku roared down on Rawk, forcing the ground to cleave under him. Rawk rolled with it, lowering the pain he received.

Ikkaku used the small increase in speed to try and assert a defining lead over Rawk, but Rawk kipped up in retaliation. Using the islands natural closeness to the sea, Ikkaku summoned an inbound Surf to come crashing down on Rawk. Rawk ran forward, ready to bring the colossal giant down to size, ...but his legs clenched up. He fell over, and was quickly washed over by the water.
