    TEAM BTPOKE'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    The Old Village
An abandoned part of the village that is set for refurbishment some time in the future. Who knows what you can find here, pokemon seem to flock to it from wherever they are. There's also rumours of places hidden beneath the old village.

    ‡ Round 170 ‡

You ask Adelbert if he might be able to generate some Illusory money.

"It can be done," he says with a nod. "The only thing is, it won't have any physical form. If the thief actually touches the money, his hand will pass right through. The jig will be up. I can't see him not wanting to touch the money if we give hand some over to him."

    How do you proceed?

"Ok, let's forget the money for a second, then. I think I might have an idea. Get that illusion of money ready, Adelbert. We may or may not need it."

I then walk back to the stall.

"Here's the issue. We each have a magmar in need of an evolution, so we need 5 Magmarizers. It appears as if the only magmarizer you have on hand is that one on the table, so we're gonna need 4 more."

    ‡ Round 171 ‡

Adelbert creates some Illusory Pokedollars as you ask the thief for four additional Magmarizers.

"Oh, sure!" he says, seeing the money in Adelbert's hands. "I'll go run and get them for you. Wait here."

He disappears down another hallway and is soon out of sight. You're alone, save for the handful of thieves continually walking in and out of the room.

... you're kidding, right? He just left the stall alone? In a bazaar full of thieves?

What an idiot! I'm tempted to take the dragon scale, but I need to focus on the current task.

Let's follow him, quietly yet quickly.

    ‡ Round 172 ‡

Questioning this thief's logic, you decide to pursue him. You head down the old, creaky corridor where he vanished an follow it until you spot him up ahead. He opens a nearby door and slips inside. The door closes behind him.

    ‡ Round 173 ‡

You wait in the hallway until the thief exits the room. After less than a minute, the door to the storage room swings open again and out he steps with four Magmarizers in his hands. He looks over and sees the lot of you standing there.

"Who gave you permission to come this way?" he barks.

    CYNDER'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Platrin Plateau
A strange, mysterious temple set high in the sky. Here, you will find exceptionally strong Pokemon in the various rooms and spaces of this ancient land set high in the sky. If you are lucky, you may stumble on a Legend or two?

    ‡ Round 221 ‡

You backtrack to the tremendous fountain in hopes of locating the Gyarados you encountered earlier. Fortunately, you find both the fountain and its serpentine inhabitant easily enough. Gyarados continues to bask in the fountain's cool waters until he notices you, at which points he smiles kindly.

"Good day to you, Pokemon trainer," he says. "I hope you are well. If you have grown thirsty, you may drink from this fountain's water."

You're not sure you want to drink from a fountain that some sea-dragon has been swimming in, but at least he's not one of those angry, psychopathic Gyaradoses that cause people-eating whirlpools and stuff.

    ‡ Round 174 ‡

Catherine steps up and catches the thief's gaze. Her eyes glow red as she lulls the man into a deep slumber. He collapses and drops the Magmarizers all over. The ensuing ruckus attracts the attention of three more thieves who are garbed identically.

    ‡ Round 175 ‡

You lie and tell the thieves that their buddy fainted.

"Oh, man, this isn't good!" one of them exclaims. "Maybe there's a Chansey nearby or something like that? C'mon, let's get him out of here!"

They scurry up to their friend and work together to lift him up and carry him out of here. In all the commotion, they appear to have forgotten that you're not supposed to be here. Soon, the corridor is deserted once again.

"By my estimations, there should be at least a dozen more Magmarizers still in storage," Charlene says as she gathers the Magmarizers that have been scattered on the ground.

Alright, charlene, you can gather the magmarizers. Sandy, go help her if she needs any. Catherine, Adelbert, and I will keep a lookout.

And maybe we can try to stay hidden, this time.

    ‡ Round 176 ‡

You send Charlene and Sandy to locate the rest of the Magmarizers as you stand guard. The corridor remains deserted for a good several minutes and you begin to wonder if you might be able to pull this whole thing off without a hitch. At last, Charlene and Sandy slip out of the storage room, their arms filled with Magmarizers.

"That's all of them!" Charlene says. "We just need to grab the one that was on display in the other room and that's it."

You then turn around... and see that you've been discovered. What you can only assume to be every thief in the building has blocked the corridor and is staring you down. That's what happens when you're in a corridor and there's nowhere to hide, I guess.

"I don't know how the heck you were able to put me to sleep like that, but we're onto you five!" the thief leading the charge bellows. "Let's get 'em, boys!"

They all begin to rush toward you in unison.

"You didn't think I wouldn't come prepared, did you?"

Adelbert, use Night Daze. If that doesn't daze everyone enough, then charlene use Smokescreen.

Then I'll Return Sandy, Grab Adelbert, and hop on Catherine (Adelbert can cut off her illusion if it needs to be done). Charlene, use Tailwind, then we'll head back to the main area to get that last magmarizer (and grab the dragon scale if we can )

    ‡ Round 177 ‡

Time to escape! Adelbert uses Night Daze while Charlene coughs out a Smokescreen, giving you ample amount of cover as you prepare to make a break for it. You grab Sandy's Pokeball in order to return her and... er, where is that thing again? Oh, right. You handed your empty Pokeballs to the guard at the door. Of course. Anyway, you and Sandy mount Catherine as you scoop up Adelbert into your arms. Charlene kicks up a terrific gust of wind that ushers you onward as you gallop through the bewildered crowd of thieves. Charlene follows.

Soon, you return to the dilapidated ballroom and spy the various items on the table. Since you can hear the thieves pursuing you, you know there's no time to stop. With Catherine charging forward, you lean over and extend your arms in hopes of grabbing the remaining Magmarizer and Dragon Scale. Your fingers wrap around them and... success! You straighten yourself on Catherine's back and look ahead once more, at which point you realize you're about to gallop right into the guard who is now standing in the middle of the room.

"Hey, guys, I think my shift is ov-- ahhh!" he shouts as Catherine tears toward him.

    CRASH!

You make impact as you, Sandy and Adelbert are thrown from Catherine's back and land hard on the ground. The Magmarizer and Dragon Scale fly out of your hands; at the same time, the guard's bag of Pokeballs is sent airborne as well, causing it to fall and scatter its contents all over the ground. The floor is now covered in various items.

At this point, the thieves enter the room. Looks like they're disoriented no more.

"The hell?" the lead thief says. "The people... are really... Pokemon?"

You glance over and see that everyone but Charlene has lost their Illusion. The thieves once again resume their attempt to charge toward you.

    What does Twd mean?

Adelbert, stay hidden (Use Faint attack to dodge stuff if you have to) and gather up our scattered items.

Catherine and Sandy, use Flamethrower and Dragon Rage (respectively) to keep them back and away from their pokeballs!

I'll look around and gather up some of our items as well. If that guard is still up, though, then Catherine can use hypnosis to put him to sleep.

    ‡ Round 178 ‡

Time for a little damage control. Catherine and Sandy use ranged attacks to keep the advancing thieves at bay as you and Adelbert gather the scattered items. It takes a good minute, but you eventually succeed. Thinking Charlene is just a human girl, the guard tries to hoist her up off the ground before Catherine can Hypnotize him. When Charlene transforms back into a Charizard, the guard passes out on the spot. Poor fellow.

"It's time for us to get out of here, human!" Charlene roars.

Let's get the heck out of here!

    Adelbert, use night daze.

Then I'll snatch Adelbert up again, return my pokemon except for Catherine, and hop on her back. Then we'll get the heck out of dodge.

    ‡ Round 179 ‡

Adelbert leaves the thieves with one final Night Daze souvenir as you prepare to scarper. You recall Sandy (successfully, this time!), hop aboard Catherine and gallop out of the den's exit like a bullet from a gun. Charlene is quick to follow, soaring just behind you, and the Tailwind guides you through the winding array of alleyways until you're back in the open town square where you started. The local Pokemon look at you with confused expressions when they see you panting and gasping for breath.

It appears as though you've outrun the thieves. Huzzah! Your party's Tailwind vanishes.

"We sure showed those guys!" Charlene exclaims, clutching the Magmarizers like jewels. "Thank you so much for your assistance. Now our colony's Magmars will finally be able to evolve. I cannot express how much this means."

She then reaches over and wraps you up in a big Charizard hug. Ow. Why.

Charlene gladly agries to Fly you back to Shinsuke. You once again hop aboard the Charizard as she takes off into the sky. Watching the continually changing landscape below, you and your party members take the opportunity to rest up. You find yourself soaring over ocean and then watch as the volcanic island comes into sight. You draw near the central magma pit where Charlene touches down. You dismount and see Ravenous Ralphie still snoozing near the tunnel entrance.

"Thanks again for your help, human," she says as she accepts the final Magmarizer from you. "You're free to explore our island's tunnels if you please. Let me know if there's anything I can do to repay your kindness. I'm extremely grateful for everything you've done."

Suddenly, Ravenous Ralphie wakes. He gets up and looks at you, blinking.

"Did Ravenous Ralphie fall asleep?" he asks. "Ravenous Ralphie does that sometimes. He is sorry if he has inconvenienced tiny pipsqueak human in any way."

    How do you proceed?

Don't worry, Ralphie. You didn't miss anything.

Well, Charlene, considering you probably know the volcano pretty well, do you know where I can find a Ninetails?

    TEAM BTPOKE'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Shinsuke Island
This volcanic island, previously hidden away, can now be seen from the shore. A massive pool of magma lies deep in its center, but one can walk down quite a ways and find a variety of Fire Types enjoying the heated tunnels. Some hardier Flying Pokemon line the edges of the Volcano as well. A tall Pagoda stands on the Island as well, the only man-made structure here.

    ‡ Round 181 ‡

You ask Charlene if she knows where you might find a Ninetales.

"A Ninetales?" she asks. "I must be friends with half a dozen. Wait here."

Charlene disappears into the tunnel entrance. After a few minutes, she returns with another Pokemon by her side. Sure enough, you recognize the creature to be a Ninetales... a shiny one, no less!

"Charlene says you wanted to see me?" he asks in a husky voice.

    How do you proceed?

I'm sorry to ask this of you so suddenly, but a pokemon has been afflicted with a powerful illusion, and the only way the illusion will be reversed is with a potion. One of the potion's ingredients is the hair of a ninetails.

Might I implore you to surrender one of your hairs? I will perform any task you ask of me in order to earn it.

    ‡ Round 182 ‡

"Anything I ask, eh?" Ninetales says, pondering. "Well, I did have some shopping I needed to complete. I require a good, firm brush... some mint-flavoured dental floss... a basket of Poffins... perhaps a new pair of Ray-Bans..."

"C'mon, Pete, go easy on this guy," Charlene says. "He just found all the stolen Magmarizers."

"Oh, he did?" Pete says, surprised. "Well, in that case, I can do that shopping myself. I offer my hair at no cost. Feel free to pluck away, human."

Pete then turns around and extends one of his gossamer tails to you.

Wooooohohoho no. I heard from somewhere that pulling on a Ninetail's tail will get me cursed, and I don't wanna risk my curse virginity for even something as simple as pulling a hair from the tails.

Do you mind if I pluck the hair from someplace other than the tails?

"Whatever floats your boat," Pete says, turning back around and extending his head. You pluck one of the silver hairs from his crown. Ravenous Ralphie raises a brow.

    TEAM BTPOKE'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Tranquil Shores
A small cove-style beach. There are lots of ocean pokemon to be found here, as well as Fire types enjoying the sun. Steel and electric-types may be able to detect treasure under the sand. If you talk to Alf the Janitor you can go further out to see in a little tugboat and a better chance of getting rarer Pokemon.

    ‡ Round 184 ‡

After bidding farewell to Charlene and Pete, you trek back to the ocean and hop aboard Ralphie who gladly ferries you back across the ocean. His patented blubberstroke cuts through wave of wave and soon takes you all the way back to Tranquil Shores. Huzzah! Despite the fact that he just napped, Ravenous Ralphie looks beat. The guy really does need to work on his cardio.

"If tiny pipsqueak human is done Surfing for the day, Ravenous Ralphie is going to go find food now," he says as his stomach rumbles. "He would like to thank tiny pipsqueak human one last time for saving him from hairy Bug lady."

He then turns toward a group of Corphish and begins to lick his lips deviously.

    ‡ Round 223 ‡

Gyarados raises a brow as you send a Ground/Rock-type Pokemon into battle, but Rhode appears eager to prove that "type" is just a four-letter word. Gyarados lets out a ferocious roar which Intimidates Rhode to the bone, but he's not gonna give up that easily. At once, your Rhyperior begins sizzling with electric current; rather than suffering any pesky Thunderbolts, Gyarados throws up a Protective barrier that cancels Rhode's attack wholesale. Rhode grimaces and trudges to the fountain's edge before ramming one of his horns into the sea-dragon's bulk. Gyarados then counters with a... yep, it's a Hydro Pump. Eep. The surge of pressurized water rockets Rhode backwards and throws him into a nearby statue, which is all but obliterated by your Rhyperior's weighty frame.

Rhode picks himself up and continues. This time, he goes for a punching move; however, he only turns on the juice at the last minute, preventing Gyarados from anticipating the super effective attack with another Protect. Electricity courses through Gyarados's body and... oh man, is that Paralysis? Well, well. Lucky duck.

Gyarados is rendered immobile for the time being.

    ‡ Round 186 ‡

You throw one of your Ultra Balls. It collides with Ralphie's tremendous bulk, transforms him into plasma and sucks him inside. The ball falls to the ground and, with a click, Ralphie is caught.

    Yay!
