Ms Snore watches as the next fighter comes out, and groans as she realizes its a darned bird that's naturally aster than she is. Still though, she tries to dig away from it. BLZ notes this and streaks over, flicking his small talons along her backside. The talons burn with the strike, as well as force Snore into the ground.

3. Carry on as is. Grey's right. There's no difference in say, using the same Pokemon in a match twice. We never had it happen before (there are strange exceptions) because we slightly held the motif of "you're in a battle, no time to heal them"-but then again, you can lose a Pokemon in a multi battle-get it evolved, and reinsert it back in same fight at a different point in time.

Bouncing out of the competition, Ms Snore now paved the way for Totodile to try and stomp its way through a superheated dust bowl lineup. The chomping croc danced in delight at having the change to battle, but BLZ was already on the move, spewing up colorful vomit. Irked that the bird regurgitated its food on him, Toto slashed the face of BLZ as a warning. (-1)

Blz hopped in place , eagerly waiting for the croc to try something. Anything. Totodile did, firing a blast of water right for the avian. But Blz once again used its maneuverability, dashing under the flash of water and striking Toto in the belleh! Tot fell over from the surprise hit, as its weakened water move sizzled on the dirt below their feet. (-1)

Toto rolled around, feeling all sorts of sick to its stomach. The Torchie smirked at Toto's apparent misfortune and walked over to the downed lizard. Both feet gripped Totodile's arms, and those talons flexed! They dug as deep as they could into the microscales of the lizard, and in swift retaliation, Tot curled his back and bit right on Torchic's exposed underbelly. The bird quickly released its crushing grip, but was not held by those powerful jaws. (-1)

The duistiness of the arena finally start to create an advantage for the firebird. In the midst of all this heat, its speed was now enough to overtake that crock. Toto-sweating bullets in the midst of all this sun, tried to defend itself with a dry heave. However, the fiery mass that erupted up and around it did its job well of burning the Toxic to smithereens before it could do any damage. Tot hissed-as the fire singed and the poison kicked him again (-2)

With the toxic so easily displaced, Toto resorted to more...painful measures. Fearing no fire, he burst right through it, angling his dive to chomp down on BLZ's feet. Blz was more than ready, backpedalling to send a surge of fire his way. The already sweltering arena increased in intensity-enough to dry out even the wettest of competitors. Toto gasped, and snapped again, this time Crunching on that birds chest.(-2)

Toto let go because it was seriously too hot right now. BLZ didn't mind too much and tried to fly with its itty bitty wings. Amazing how fast it shot up there too!. Toto just watched, and groaned at its stomach.(-2)

Staring up, Toto was hard pressed to be patient with all this heat. Even so, he held his ground, as the opponent fell into his arms. Literally. Tot used his tail to hold himself and BLZ, before all sorts of fire hit the fan. (-3)

BLZ seemed to be a hyperspeed bird now, instantly revving itself up to insane temperature while in close proximity to Toto. The little guy did his best to control itself, but that overheat left him drier than Anne Frank. He couldn't hold it anymore, and released what energy he could have stored-as he now sported a nice burn on his chest. (-1, -3)

The energy came out in the form of a series of slashes and wild strikes to deal with the heat, and BLZ was put in its place with those wild blows.

Now came a dilemma. There was no more to bide...and therefore it seemed BLZ would have nothing to counter. Ahh but here come Toto, fierce off the last tantrum, still with damage to dish. Those jaws went out and tried to clamp a wing. The bite didn't sink in long enough, as Blz spun and flipped over the reptilian jaw, twisting Toto til it was on its back. BLZ then jumped on her belly and scratched away.(-1, -3)

The croc was in no way safe right now. That bird had overtaken him in the speed aspect, one which could make or break victories if used correctly. Fearing the sudden impact of anything physical, Toto started to dig fervently. (-4)

BLZ spied the croc vanishing into the sands, and decided on a happy parting gift. An increase in spatial heat! The speedy flames washed over the half buried croc, irritating its back! (-1). Toto pulls himself together and pulled himself through the hot sands, trying to reach cooler areas.

To: -3E/-7H ~~~ BLZ: -8E

Pleased with how it was going, BLZ patiently waited for the inevitable strike. It came, right at his feet. One set of talons sunk into the sand partially before the jaws emerged, and BLZ was able to use its speed to quickly jump up a bit to avoid the first slash, and begin a Heat Wave. The second slash and subsequent bite connected from the emerging beast, but so did fire on scaly flesh. Toto cried and then fell limp on the baking sands. (-4,-1)

Totodile crawled forward, barely even able to stand. It really was too hot for it to handle. Blz didn't care, releasing a heat wave that ...probably wasn't necessary. Pretty sure the poisoning and the Burn would have worked well enough.

With the Totodile gone and dried up, Aye calls on her reserve fighter. Back from the brink, Scyther lunges out and makes for BLZ. BLZ however, shows that bug a thing or two about speed and scurries back unimaginably quickly, all while backpedalfiring a flamethrower!

Scyther veers off course to deal with the souped up fire, but does continue on, pinning the bird down after a few more yards. (-2)

Oh great, that stinking poison was starting back up. Scyther coughed, and found that the power of his cough locked his chest up. He fell on his knees, and welcomed a new beginning.(-2)

===Round 39===

Down to only two Pokemon, Ayeun whips out a Pokemon that I didn't expect. I can only smile as I watch the awesomeness that is the protozoea Solosis float around. It seems eager to show off what it can do...but before it can do anything, Torchic uses the last of its energy to vanish from sight. In its place comes that Scyther from before! Ohhh crap.

Well to avoid any ill effects, the amorphous blob creates a veil of energy around itself.

Solosis smirks, even as the hyperspeed bug vanishes and reappears in a moment, spraying a toxic gas that did exactly nothing. In response, the orb responded with another gaseous release. Scyther flew directly through it, gaining a nice bout of sickness. As it tries to contend with what it flew though, Solosis releases a strange air of power that knocks the bug to its knees.

Solosis grinned, even as the bug jabbed one of those dangerous blades at its protective cell membrane. The cell wall held, but the pain was immense.
