"I'm never going to remember that." Richard chuckles, throwing his arms behind his head in a relaxed way. "It was really hard to read because it was handwritten in really bad writing. It'd be a miracle for anyone to be able to read it in the first place, let alone remember it."

In the meantime Moonscape searches for the exact location of the map; but her search returns fruitless. Richard laughs yet again. "I forgot to mention that the map was shrouded against psychic attacks that try to locate it. If it wasn't I'd have found it a long, long time ago."

You seem to have made a lot of progress; the grass has slowly faded from a lush green to a more vibrant olive yellow colour and there are small bunches of flowering plants here and there.

c) Try to avoid wetting myself

Your little group splits up to search the field - Timburr and Lickitung take the grove of trees up ahead, Togetic and Moonscape wander to the right in search of the elusive stone, Brando follows Richard and you as you search and Esquire searches on alone to the left. You begin rooting around in the undergrowth for any signs of the stone when a particular stump comes to your attention - it's poking through the grass and there is something lodged in the roots. You can't see exactly what it is, but with a bit of digging it may be possible to reveal it.

Your Slowking fights the influence of his assailants to come to your aid - and does so very successfully the first time around because his Amnesia is spread telepathically around the Pokemon who are holding him in place, ironically aided by the Psychic power that is being used against him. Just as those disgusting lips are about to touch your own you scream a cry of help to the Mamoswine, who are currently still trapped by a rockfall. Put of temporarily by your scream, Jynx pauses long enough to see a vivid flash of light from the maw of your trusty Slowking pal. It knocks the freaky Pokemon to one side and breaks the telekinetic connection between the two of you, sending you sprawling face first on the ground. Wonderful.

With the majority of the group unable to use Psychic and their leader lying flat on the ground nursing a sore bottom from that attack, they're in disarray. Apparently, your attacks have rendered them too shocked to attack. However, the Mean Look is still in place and prevents you from fleeing.

Despite humans not being able to learn TMs (for SHAME!) you're able to pry apart the roots to reveal something red and shiny - the star piece that you've been looking for. In your haste to tell your companions you rest your hand on one of the gnarled roots of the stump, and that root that gives way and causes the ground around it to crumble and fall inward. With the majority of your weight resting on what is now a sizable hole, physics dictates that you fall in.

You tumble down the subterranean tunnel and land in a dimly lit den that may have once been home to some kind of Pokemon, and a large one at that considering the size of the cavern and the tunnel that lead to it. You scramble across the ground and try to climb back up the slope you fell down, but it's no use. You're stuck.

Moment of gender confusion there, Prospero is male. For some reason I thought he was female. Hrn. Will have to peruse the Approval Tower to check for certain.

Anywa, good job Pro, but we're not out of it yet. Let out a big Yawn (I'll close my eyes and stick my fingers in my ears so I don't get affected) to send the surrounding pokemon to sleep. Then deal with the shiny leader by hitting her/him with a Flame Thrower then whack it across the cave and into it's own cauldron of brew with Dragon Tail.

Your calls echo dimly around the cavern, and at first it sounds as though your cry has fallen upon deaf ears. You wait in the silence for a moment when you notice the cavern go dark and look up at the hole through which you fell and see a familiar face.



"Ha, I can't believe that that worked!" He guffaws straight down the hole, making sure that none of the other Pokemon are around to hear him doing so beforehand. "Do you really think I'd lead you straight to my map? And to think you thought I forgot where I put it..." Richard is practically in stitches by now, and he leans over the hole slightly further. "PRICELESS!" He leans to one side to show you something - a rock large enough to block the hole shut. "See this? I'm going to use this rock to trap you here in this ditch. And nobody will hear your pathetic cries for help..." He cackles yet again - clearly he finds trapping you in a ditch severely entertaining. Either that, or he's gone completely bonkers. It's hard to tell which.

"Sayonara, Oslo!" He cries as he lodges the rock in place.

You cover your ears as the most-definitely-male Prospero lets out a huge yawn that has the rest of the Pokemon in the cavern yawning along with him. Just as they're about to attack, each and every one of them has fallen asleep. Curled up cutely on the ground, those Smoochums don't look like they can hurt a fly - but as you very well know, appearances can be deceiveing.

Taking revenge for your earlier assault, you command Prospero to breathe a steady stream of flame at the shiny Jynx, who is embarrasinly sucking his thumb. Ew, gross. Even in his sleep he can feel the flames lick at his skirt and while normally that would be plenty to wake him, the 'enchanted' sleep from Prospero's yawn keeps him under. With a flourish of the Slowking's tail, the Jynx is sent flying backwards into his own potion, which spills all over the floor.

It's at that exact moment that you feel a weight lift from your shoulders - it appears that the affects of Mean Look have worn off.

Resigned to the fact that you are, at least for the moment, completely trapped and alone, you take a look around the disused den to see if there are any Pokemon nearby. There aren't any Pokemon that you can see - but you do notice two tunnels with footprints leading to them.

You decide to scarper while you still can and traverse the cavern in the direction that you can hear the waterfall coming from. It takes very little time to reach the back, and it is there that you're faced with a puzzle not unlike the icy floors of the icy path in the games.

Using your keen Oslo sense, you realise that the second tunnel may house a Buneary for you to befriend. Turning right, and away from the cave that houses a Munchlax, you follow the path straight to it.



The little Pokemon looks up to you and smiles kindly. "Are you alright, mister? What are you doing here?"

Buneary, I am not alright. I was looking for a map that might lead me to Jirachi and then a fuggin' jerkmuffin named Richard trapped me down here. Is there a way you could blast a hole in the ceiling with Hidden Power and then Bounce me out of here?

I don't want my home to get all wet when it rains." She says sadly. "But!" she adds, twirling on the spot for emphasis. "Did you just say a map to find Jirachi? I think I might know where that map is!"

After yelling "WHEEEEEEE!" at the top of your voice exactly 21 times (12 times more than if you'd have taken the middle path - the one that was meant to be right if it weren't for my mistake in making the top path work too, something I spent an awful long time trying to correct xD) your throat feels like it's had sandpaper grated across it - but the point is that you've made it to the other side successfully. Thankful for having crossed it now, you trek across the now rocky cave floor until the end of the tunnel, which is once again dark due to the fire being such a long way away. The sound of the waterfall is almost deafeningly loud now.

By expert I of course meant I slide on them until I get where I'm meant to be. Probably shouldn't have 'wheeee'd so much though.

Pro, light the cave up with Flash, but make it slower and a bit more subtle than before. We don't want to disturb and blind another angry winter beast. Could you maybe make it like a floating globe of light? Ooh! Idea! Energy Ball and Flash combo, to create a glowing ball. Then Telekinesis to keep it off the ground and floating between us.

"Okay!" She cries cheerfully and hops off down a tunnel that you hadn't noticed before, so you follow, being careful not to trip over the twisted roots and twigs that are growing through the ground. How she manages to navigate the area with such ease baffles you as the rabbit Pokemon ducks and dives around the miniature obstacle course. You, unfortunately, don't posess such abilities and have to carefully pick your way through.

Buneary's ease of way comes to a stop when she trips over an awkwardly placed root - but it's then that you realise that this was through no fault of her own. The root wraps itself around her left leg and hoists her by the ankle to hang. She wriggles and tries to kick her way free, but it's no use. She lets loose a cry of horror.

Using a very clever (and pretty!) idea, you command Prospero to create a glowing ball of light that sits suspended ahead of you to cast a soft glow and illuminate the spacious cavern. It does so successfully without disturbing any 'local fauna', so that's a good thing.

Now that the dark has been dispelled, you can see that you've reached a corner in what is a room in the rough shape of an 'L' with a disproportionately wide vertical section. The end of the corridor that you are finally able to see appears to have been blocked by a rockfall of some kind, and the rocks glisten as though they are wet.

Prospero tries to shift the rockfall with his mind, but it's no use. Even if he starts from the top, there's far too much weight involved and the rocks are lodged in there real tight. How else would it have been able to hold captive two Mamoswine? Instead, you change your plans and order Prospero to dig beneath the rockfall to reach the other side.

Diving straight into his work, Prospero makes short work of cutting through the bedrock and digging straight through to what you think is the other side. However, when Prospero thinks he is able to resurface, he is confronted by a facefull of rock. Ever the hard worker, Prospero pours back into his work and digs quite a while further ahead before resurfacing again. As you expected, on the other side is the waterfall, and a group of 3 trapped Pokemon.



They look up at you and race over, thanking you profusely. However, before you can truly introduce yourself, something else pops out of that hole. Something horrific.

You attempt to trace the vine/root back to its source, but whatever it is must be hidden in the walls - either that, or invisible. A vine creeps up behind you and wraps its way sneakily around your ankle, and before you can even comprehend it, BAM and you're hanging from the ceiling like Buneary, who has now frozen like a deer in the headlights of a speeding car. You look around and try to talk to your assailant - there's nobody in sight. Meanwhile, one of the vile vines is making its way towards your right arm.

"You don't even recognise me?!" He cries incredulously, dropping the ridiculous singsong tone for a moment. "You did this to me." His glare is as steely as his new bladed arms. "That potion was supposed to turn me into a dre~eamy Gallade, but it wasn't finished when you DUNKED me in!"

Mamoswine and family are just stood motionless in horror and confusion as they look at... whatever that thing is, and decide that they preferred it before you tried to rescue them.

"And now, for making me like this, you are going to pa~ay!"

Conveniently, as he says just that, from the hole pops the Pokemon you put to sleep just actions before.




Each one assumes a fighting stance, and the male Mamoswine just can't help but say; "Bring it, bucko!"

Buneary's eyes change from their normal colour to a glowing shade of blue as her body radiates what looks like a giant bubble that permeates everything around but reveals nothing. Slightly annoyed that she still has no target, Buneary burns away the vines that bind her with a Fire Punch, and the remaining vines reel away from her flaming hand. She drops to the floor with a thud, and wth her fist still ablaze she repels some of the less gutsy roots. You're still hanging from the roof, however, and Buneary just isn't tall enough to reach your vine without hurting you.

The rabbit Pokemon bounces lithely from the ground to your shoulder where she scrambles up and stands with fists ablaze as she punches right through the vine binding you. You fall to the ground with a soft thud and feel a shooting pain reel up your spine from one of the now-immobile vines that you landed straight on. Your new friend rushes over as you sruggle to stand once again. With a great deal of difficulty you manage it, but you can feel that any sort of running is now impossible.

At your feet you notice the roots and vines moving yet again, but this time they're moving back into their original positions. It's easy to see that they're back to normal now - they've faded back to a more natural greyish brown and have woven themself back into the walls.

In response to your thanks Buneary looks to the ground and blushes just a little under her brown fur. On your request she proceeds to use a Heal Bell attack on your back, and while it still feels sore, most of the pain has faded away. Now that you're feeling better, you proceed to the end of the cave and notice a pathway draped with hanging vines, each feels supple and alive as you push your way through with ease. Once you're through the basic barrier, you find yourself inside yet another open cavern, but this one has large piles of decaying leaves lying around you in seemingly random alignments. You also notice small and medium sized holes in the ground that you make a mental note to be wary of. It feels warm and ever-so-slightly damp in here.

The temptation to run away form the scary Jynx's is overwhelming, but I must stand my ground. Prospero, I know you need to relax, but keep the other Jynx and Smoochum at bay with a few Flame Throwers.

Family 'Swine. I'm sorry for bringing this to you, but if we're going to reunite you with your kids then we have to work together.

Piloswine, can you create a Stealth Rock to surround the Jynx and Smoochum that Prospero is dealing with, hopefully it will keep them back long enough for us to deal with the mad crossdresser.
