Your Team.

What is it about your Team that you feel has changed since your time in ASB? What about your PKMN their personalities, their origins, hell, even their names. Did you want to always have these certain PKMN on your team, or did you grow attached to one you received as a gift or random Saf Zone Catch?

Second Question: I know we all think we know what PKMN signifies us. Our signature PKMN that WE think it is, but what about everyone else. What do you think are other ppl's Signature Pokemon?

I'll give you a small hint.

For your first question, I originally planned for just one Pokemon per type, but I've got two Bug types, two water types and two ghost types.

I also have three flying types, kinda.

1) Well, I gave away my team thrice now. Just keeping Athene and giving away the rest in the Tree. Starting over is some sort of fetish for me, ingame I always restart as soon as possible. In ASB I kinda did the same after my 'goal' was accomplished or when I didn't feel challenged enough, I guess.

As for names, when I was young and first got here I named all my pokemon after Gods. Both Greek, Roman, Norse, Egyptian, etc. Hence my female Slowbro's name being Athene. After a while I got a lot of pokemon so I expanded to Mythology in general. Was bored, depleted team, restart

Then, did a re-run and started using Japanese names for the fun of it. When I restarted again, I started using names from Bleach. Both Shinigami and Zanpaktou; and even Arancar's when I learned about their existence.

Recently though, I've been just naming my pokemon with a first and last name; not theme'd or anything like that. So I got a mix of everything right now.

Pokemn I definitly wanted on my team: Zaraki Kenpachi, my male black Gyarados; Irou, my male Murkrow; Ichimaru Gin, my male Sableye; Nisashi, my male Scizor and Kamon my male Magcargo.

Pokemon I got attached to after using them: Ise Nanao, my shiny female Medicham; Joey Fissure, my male brown and gold Flygon; Katen, my female Cradily and Minne, my female Azumarill.

I originally wanted to make a team of my then-favorite Pokemon. Blaziken, Metagross, Gardevoir, Golem, Poliwrath, and Venusaur. But then I gave Metagross away (I miss you, Sir Grodus.) and started receiving tons of Pokemon at each Tree, and by the time Gen IV rolled around, I realized I wanted a new team. That's when my current top six line-up came along. Everyone else - gifts from H_L, powerful or cool Pokemon I really liked - just kinda came and went, and it's gonna probably stay that way for awhile...

I originally planned to have nothing but dual-typed Pokemon. Silly, right? The wrench in my plan was Dogfish trading me his Electrode for my second Shieldon, but then I figured I'd have a team entirely composed of duals except for seventeen single-typed Pogeys... one from each type. Of course, the Tree came around and there went that plan. Now that I think about it, though, it was kind of silly. There's a whole variety of single-typed Pokes that I adore, including my fave *gestures toward avatar* so why limit myself?

I go for mostly stupid/goofy nicknames. Dun like to take myself overly serious. *hugs La Polla Loca and Sparkle Motion and Pinocchio von Badass*

When I first started, I just wanted to have a few pokemon and my favourites... Its been a year now, and I am at 30 pokemon. Of those, I would say that maybe 25 of them are what I would call my 'favourites'... A few gifts at the tree, a few different situations, and just wanting something different have given me the team that I have now.

Would I change the team? No... I am happy with whom I have right now. Give it a few more months, and I may give away a lot, and start again. I kind of have a dream at the moment of having a Gym, so I am keeping the team I want for my Gym under wraps.

As for names, I started off with no names for anything. As time went on, I started naming the team... The team mostly have silly names (mo mo, Boom boom, Burn-motherfucker). Ms Skitty-fantastico is a tribute to Buffy, where as Raffalesia is a tribute to the family of plants that Vileplume is bassed off. la Bella translates to 'a beautiful', or 'the beautiful', which seemed appropriate for my Milotic.

As a team, the Grass assembly gained its name when I started picturing all of my grass pokemon gathering and meeting in a sort of circle group.

I have a few Pokemon from the tree, but the few others were from eggs I have purchased. I'm fairly attached to Momo, Snuggles and Kara'Kurai, but the others serve their purpose. I plan on one day owning a Gym(maybe the Elite Four, even, but that's not even finished yet, lawl). I have some Pokemon in mind that I want, and I hope to expand my team by a lot. prefer fighting, dark and and grass, mainly.

I've tried to avoid reusing pokemon that I had on my old team, but I do have a couple for various reasons. Nincada (soon to be evolved into both its forms) because it was one of my favs, and I was the first person to ever have both the pokemon and devise the evolution process for it. Zubat, because Crobat is one of my favourites, and Illumise, because I never got a chance to use her in battle before. Other than that, I've gone for pokemon I like, or gifts from the tree and eggs that are just randoms. I'll give almost any pokemon a go, see how they fair and if they don't work out, they'll make good gifts when x-mas comes round (I'm looking at you Abra (I just don't like you (don't make that face at me))).

When it comes to nicknames, all my names now are either after people or are scientific names for things. If you check out my vs seeker (click on my team in my sig) I've linked all the nicknames to the relevant articles on Wikipedia. My personal favourites are Montgolfier for Drifblim (The Montgolfier Brothers invented the hot-air balloon of the same name, which is the most commonly known and what Drifblim is based on) and Ewango for Girafarig (Corneille Ewango owns an Okapi reserve. Okapis are what Girafarig is supposedly based on aside from just a giraffe). The only nickname that doesn't link to anything is Dashiell for Nincada, but when it evolves I have the perfect names for the living and dead partnership.

A) My Pokemon are a very varied lot. At first, it was a permutation of a select set from each generation that I was keen on having. By the time one year passed here, that plan went to heck-as I recieved triple my team size in gifts.

Nowadays I seem to hoard Pokemon, but I give each its due, and each gets at least one battle per form under my 'tutelage'. As for naming them, I vary between old names that Ive given them in game, or in RP. Sometimes I just opt for sillyness and link up like my twin Hariyamas or twin Garchomps or my Kanto Starters...

With this Clan idea-I do hope to format my team into useful quadrants. So far its going well, though I do need more ninja clan names.

B) Tricky one. To me, people and their Signature Pokemon can be one they either use alot, or one that seems to always be mentioned, even when not in battle.

Some of the obvious ones are

It's you who named it that, and yeah, GRUMPYPIG is my favorite. If I got a gym, it'd be Ectabat, GRUMPYPIG, Venn, Gulliver, Convectank and Lady Frostbite, with probably Anenome and Homer J. Simpson joining the group. The first 6 are my oldest and my favorite, and Anemone and Homer pack incredible power. Suprising for Anenome (Gliscor = Ectabat, Grumpig = GRUMPYPIG, Banette = Venn, Torkoal = Convectank, Froslass = Lady Frostbite, Corsola = Anenome and Swalot = Homer J. Simpson for those wondering)

I just was browsing the entries of a puzzle in this book of Fill-Ins and other related puzzles (e.g. Frameworks, Places Please, Letterboxes, etc.; if anyone wants to know what they are like, look up the website for Dell and Penny Press, I'm not posting it here), and one of the entries happens to be a TPMer. i DO however realize thats pretty tough so i plan of only tryin to get my favorites wich will still be tough cuz i have a LOT of favorites.
i plan on mainly goin for my 2 favorite types (Dragon and Water) and Rock/Ground/Steel types (ESPECIALLY FOSSIL POKEMON)

Well since I posted the question, I suppose I better give my answer for it.

When I started back up in ASB way back in 06, this was after our latest overhaul. At the time I was still trying to get my original RBY team back together that consisted of Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Scyther, Aerodactyl, and Mew. Since in ASB Legendaries are banned, I couldn't have my Mew (Odd that Mew Master has no Mew to... well... Master). Up to that point I hadn't played DPP, and had only played Saphire.

So my first team was going to be a balance. Ralts (Tsuki-Yomi), Aerodactyl (Started as Aero, got re-named to Ziz), Eevee (Liger -> Flareon), and Scyther (Blade)

However I wasn't expanding the team as fast as I wanted. I had no theme to speak of to begin with, but when I started I was going over a list of Pokemon I wanted, which was fairly big. So I started getting what I was looking for through Trees and Buying what I wanted. I still have about... 6 Pokemon or so that I want to get for the team before I call it good.

I actually have a thing I want to write up fo Ziz, because of all my PKMN, he seems to have gotten the most Character development from his time on ASB to a PKMN with an actual solid personality.

As for the theme I have for my team, I didnt start out with any particular theme at all. My first four pokemon (which I will never give away) Fleece (mareep), Sushi (piplup), Skye (swablu) and Kit (was a skitty now a delcatty) were my favorites from the games, and the names I gave them were what I had named them in the games themselves. When it comes to naming the other pokemon I get, all I do is name them something which they remind me of, sort of like a word association thing only with pokemon XD As an example, I named my Barboach in the games "Cornbread" because it made me think of a line in a song "Catfish and cornbread" lol

Some of my asb pokemon are named after books or movies (Baskerville, Heartwhisper, Little Red) some after gods or famous icons (Etain, Reul na Maidne, Lady Liberty, Colonel Sanders, Isis, Siren) some have to do with nature or science (Moonlight, Stormy, Snowshine, Rainshine, Opal, Apis Florea, Clearview) a couple from music and other cultures (A Cappella, 99Luftballon, Feng Shui, and my japanese named Eevee team) and even from things in my childhood/real life: Freedom, Vagabond, Redemption, Forgiveness, and Saint Ben the st bernard <3

Im only really attached to about half, but most I want to keep because yes, I like to collect cute pokemon XD Specifically I like the ones that are based on a favorite animal of mine. Battle wise I love water pokemon as you can probably see, but I also love psychic ones, and flying and normal. I also like to make them purple, pink, black, white, silver or blue if possible lol Im thinking I still need to get a few what Im missing but my team is nearly complete...

Also, I just have to say I love ASB because of the ability to battle with a uniquely colored pokemon, and have others do the same. Even if they arent a unique color, the battlers give their pokemon an identity like how Blade and Denny have done, and it makes it more interesting, especially for rematches. (Ziz will never eat Sushi!!!)
