OK guys: I'm in a computer now so I should be able to give you a demonstration of the way I play this game. I will use one of the previous puzzles as an example. Now, in order to use this method, you need the very lingo calculator, the internet for different word lists and at least a word with a solid lead (at least half or more letters in the correct position). It can take a while for that to happen, but once you have it, its go time. Anyway, let me demonstrate:

OK, so here are the clues from a previous puzzle: (Legend: R for right, M for misplaced and W for wrong)

football: 0 R, 0 M, 8 W
popsicle: 1 R, 2 M, 5 W
punisher: 0 R, 4 M, 4 W
skeleton: 2 R, 2 M, 4 W
username: 1 R, 4 M, 3 W
password: 0 R, 1 M, 7 W
homepage: 1 R, 1 M, 6 W
quizzing: 0 R, 3 M, 5 W
downhill: 0 R, 1 M, 7 W
heritage: 2 R, 0 M, 6 W
slowpoke: 2 R, 0 M, 6 W
suspense: 4 R, 1 M, 3 W
submerge: 3 R, 1 M, 4 W
surprise: 2 R, 1 M, 5 W
suspects: 2 R, 2 M, 4 W

OK, so we have plenty of clues to work here. Now, I'll try to do a step-by-step on how I work the puzzles out

1-Eliminate the letters which do not hold part of the puzzle: We can start with the 0 R, 0 M ones (like Football). So our puzzle does not have the following letters: A,B,F,L,O,T. That's 6 letters that we do not need to worry about. We will discover more as we go on, but let's start with that.

2-Next, we want to make a hypothetical base for our puzzle. In other words, we want to start gathering clues. Take a look at the following words: Suspense, Submerge, Heritage and Slowpoke. These have quite a few clues that we can start to use. Let's start with a map of our puzzle (like in Pokemon Hangman)

Incorrect: A,B,F,L,O,T

Now we have our base, and guess what? we have some possible letter which probably fit in our puzzle. Since we have 6 words starting with the letter S which have "right" in their score, we can assume that our puzzle starts with the letter S. so...

and with many clues also pointing out that we could also have an E as the last letter, let's also add that up:

Now, take a look at "slowpoke". With 0 misplaced letters, we could assume that only S and E are the valid letters here, which means more letters can be discarded:

Incorrect: A,B,F,K,L,O,P,R,T,W (our Pokemon hangman would be dead by now, right? hehehe)

With all those letters, let's go back to the big clues once more:

suspense: 4 R, 1 M, 3 W
submerge: 3 R, 1 M, 4 W

Do you see which additional letters they share? Yup, the U and the E. However, "quizzing" tells us that the letter U is not in a correct spot, so we can ignore that one for now. The E, however may also be in the puzzle. Why? Because "skeletons" and "suspects" also have it in the 5th slot. Let's make an addition to our puzzle:

Now, sometimes you may not be able to find all the clues, so here's where the difficult step comes into play:

3-Find words which may fit: Depending on the amount of clues that you may have, you can begin to construct the puzzle with possible words. Let's look at the puzzle once more. We have 3 possible letters in play and we need at least one more clue to start searching. if we can find the first two letters, we can reduce greatly the words that we may have to look for. Looking at the clues, we know that the word does not have A, O, or U as the second letter. However, "heritage" may be saying that the letter E could be the second letter of the puzzle. Let's see the puzzle with said clue:

Now is time to look for some common words starting with SE. In my case, I began with "sentence". Comparing it with the other words, I could see that I was close, but not just yet. How? By using the Lingo calculator. I place "sequence" as the possible correct word and I use "suspense" as the guess.

suspense: 4 right, 0 misplaced, 4 wrong.

This, along with the fact that I overlooked the letter T gave me the next clue: another word with similar letters: "sequence". Let's try it with the calculator again:

suspense: 4 right, 1 misplaced, 3 wrong.

Nice! Now let's keep the comparison: 3 shared letters with submerge, 2 with surprise, 2 with suspects... looks like we may have found out word. Then if you did, then post it as a guess. If it was, then you won, and if it wasn't, then it will draw you closer to the answer. And that is how I work the puzzles out.

Now, bear in mind that this is not a guaranteed method. eventually it all comes down to a lot of effort and using the clues as best as you can. I'm pretty sure I did a few more techniques while doing this puzzle, but lack of sleep prevents me from being a bit more detailed. However, if you believe this could work for you, then try it out. If it doesn't, then my advice would be to find your own style and combine it with the different tips that you receive from the many Lingo players. Finally, have fun! After all, we want to enjoy playing our games. Finally, apologies for grammar errors. Long posts like this one can have quite a few, hehehehe

Ah, I see. I only use clues which I'm certain about when I'm filtering the list, but I do go with my hunches when it comes to making a guess. Your method is not that different from mine. 0-right and 0-misplaced also give me the most information. But 1-right and 1-misplaced are quite useful too (I just have to figure out all the possibilities). Here, for example, you have 9 sets of words you can keep (one for each possible right letter, with none of the others being right). Everything else can be discarded.
