Being mindful of the ground-dwellers, however, you peer downward just in time not to step on a Sunkern and squish her. Good on you.

Buzzer then starts waving his hands around and imitating a fish, trying to translate the Wormadam's words. There are Mothims by the river, then?

You listen intently, barely making out the sound of water. It's coming from... the north, you think.

You begin trekking north and, gradually, the noise of the river gets louder and louder. Soon, the forest spills out unto an open clearing broken by the passage of clean water. Looking around, you spy Farfetch'd wading in the shallows and a couple of Croagunks dueling on the bank.

Further down, a few Bibarels seem to be making a dam. A couple of Masquerains flutter low to the surface.

So... where the hell are the Mothims, then?

You exchange a look with Buzzer. Yeah, she seems to have seen it, too.

Stepping forward, you reach out and part the cluster of cattails, poking your head through. Suddenly, a Mothim bursts out of the reeds toward your face. You stumble back in surprise and watch as it flutters off down the river.

Sunshine Fields
A large rolling plain that overlooks the Pokemasters land, the grass is soft and the air tasty. A plethora of grass Pokemon are found here as they enjoy the tickling breeze and the bright sunshine. Bird and normal-types are also found here. Far far far to the north, a small rocky outcropping exists.

Darkest Light and his pokemon arrive in the Sunshine Fields. Lo and behold, the sun is shining, and the wind is blowing, bringing a herd of Hoppip with it. Playing in the grass, two Shroomish and a Breloom are in the middle of lunch, while a flight of Pidgey fly overhead.

In the distance, you can hear the sounds of the wind in the trees, and a jingling sound. From the south, you can hear singing or chanting. To the north, you can smell a sweet aroma on the wind.

Puck bounds off and has a play. He seems to have found a stick, and would like Darkest Light to throw it so he can play fetch.

As you trek eastward, you will come across a single Beautifly attending to some flowers, and a pair of Bayleaf’s snoozing in the sun. Over head, a lone shadow circles high, and further east from here, you can hear the sound of someone talking. To the south, you can smell the most vile stench. From the north, you can hear birds chatter.

Eager to nab this little critter, Buzzer tears after Mothim down the riverbank. She takes flight and, as quick as can be, rams her frame into Mothim. The Moth Pokemon tumbles back but regains his composure long enough to beat her wings and kick up a vicious Twister that bats away at Buzzer annoyingly.

Spotting some rocks on the bank, Buzzer flies over and nabs a few of them. She lobs them at Mothim, pinning him under their weight, but one well-planned Psybeam breaks her out and showers Buzzer with jagged flecks of broken rock. Ouchies.

Finally, Buzzer finishes things off with a swell of fire blown straight from her mouth. Mothim endures the attack and, though slightly crispy, he still manages to coat Buzzer in a nice, thick coat of some poisonous powder. Ew, not fun.

You apologize to the bird, whom hops away, more terrified than receptive. Back to traversing through fog and trees. You notice a large shadow deeper in, but you pay it no mind, as it seems non threatening. Nincada then scurries up a tree, and points in a circle. You look around, and holy crap there are alot of sleeping Pidgey, Hoothoot and Starly here.

You spot some large petals possibly a Vileplume and a Breloom provoking the giant petals.

You throw the stick with all your might as far south as you can. Puck bounds after it, happy as a pig in mud. As you head south, the stench leads you to a single Vileplume, with two Glooms and a pack of oddishes. They stare at you as you approach, and are starting to back away from you.

Puck returns and drops the stick at your feet, but instead of the stick, He seems to have brought you a Bellsprout.

Bending over to help the Belsprout up, you scald Puck, who bounds off looking for his stick.

You ask the Belsprout about any structures around the area, and Sonikku translates that there may be something far to the north.

The Vileplume has taken this time to round up its Oddishes, and they are starting to move away.

Thanking the Belsprout, you and your pokemon run north, past a chatter of Pidgey, until you come across a small stream. On the opposite side, you can see several small, mud huts, in a ring around an old camp fire.

You spy a Karlia and a Mime Jr sitting in one of the huts, and a few Zigzagoons eyeing Puck.

Sending Puck to go play with the other Zigzagoons, you bring Marauder with you as you inspect the mud huts. They do not appear to be large enough for human habitation, which would explain the Buneary sleeping in the hut you have stumbled in to. The poor rabbit’s collections of ‘Shinnies’ clutter the walls and floor.

The Mime Jr and Karlia are watching you from across the fire pit.

As the Poison slowly whittles away at Buzzer's health, it becomes clear that the Flygon is gonna have to step things up. She breathes out a long, snaking trail of flames that roasts Mothim alive, though the buggy is quick to retaliate by fluttering over and taking a nice little chomp out of Buzzer. Ouchies!

Buzzer then breathes out a nice stream of purplish energy, but Mothim dodges with a well-timed aerial maneuver and darts in for a close strike. At this proximity, however, there's nothing the Moth Pokemon can do to avoid an additional fiery burst care of Buzzer. That one really seemed to do the trick, however, as Mothim appears to have garnered a Burn.

Finally, Mothim flies low and kicks up some mud at Buzzer, but the Flygon simply hangs there Levitating as the gunk flies below her. Oh, come on, little mothy. You can do better than that!

The Poison and Burn then do their thang.

Lot of birds...

The Breloom spots you and your crew, but pays no mind. It hops on one, two, three petals, before flipping off, as a splotch of Smog poofs out the Vileplume's head spout. Breloom watches it rishe, befoe doing the pattern again, focing two smog clouds out. He would then watch them rise into teh tree, where coughing could be heard.

an Aipom then stuck its head out of the tree and flung a bunch of grapes at the Breloom. Breloom takes the hit, and sits down, eating said grapes. Huh, clever.

You head toward the ewntrance, when you hear a yelp. Yu run outside and back into sunlight, forcing you to cover your eyes. You readjust and look to see a small Mawile slide past you. link! He attaches right onto Molto's rear end, mouth open wide. No sire hje does not look happy about it.

You enter the next hut, but it is empty. There is only one more hut left before the Karlia and the Mime Jr, but it too is empty.

Approaching the Karlia and Mime Jr, you hear a voice in your head. ’What do you seek, human?’ Your pretty sure that was the Karlia talking to you.

Puck bounds back to you, as the other Zigzagoons are leaving. He has a rock in his mouth for you.

The end is near. You command one final fierystrike from Buzzer and, doing his best to withstanding the heat, Mothim eats the Flamethrower before beating his wings in succession. Razor blades of air come spinning forward and collide with Buzzer for an unpleasant impact. The Flygon grunts.

Oh, you didn't.

Suddenly, she opens wide and unleashes a powerful burst of energy. The sheer force collides with Mothim and sends him tumbling backward into a patch of cattails. Before the little buggy can move a muscle, you're ready with your Great Ball. The ball opens up and Mothim gets sucked in.

It wiggles once. It wiggles twice.

It wiggles a third time.

It dings.

And that's that! Congratulations, you now own a Mothim. And just like that, you're magically transported to the front desk where Raff and la Bella are waiting for you alongside your new Ledian, Piplup and Mothim.

I wanna do it!

You ponder something, and then Big Show waddles over and takes a big whiff of Breloom. The Plant Pokemon turns around, thinking Show was smelling the grapes. Cheerful, he offers Show one and the pair eat in peace.

Doesn't take long for a Shroomish to appear. Unrelated to the Breloom, it hops on the Vileplume as well. Seems this is an age old trick passed down.

That coulda ended bad.

Molta shakes and relaxes, but Mawile's stuck . So Molto-as gentle as possible, exerts a strange dim yellow discharge that counteracts its own ability enough to send Mawile popping off. Mawile closes its big mouth and waddles away, upset.

You hide your amusement as you both head on out, going down toward the..Steelix that just woke up from the 5th level? It rises its head at you, and then goes about its business. Seems Molto's ability woke it up.
