Perseus watches warily, assuming a praying mantis stance as Rawk flexed once and began to dance about. But before the dance could be completed, and Rawk could feel the benefits of a warrior's training, Perseus seemed to rip them right from his very muscles!

Rawk flared with anger. You don't STEAL his moves!

Now, with a clear advantage, Perseus closes his fists and starts toward Rawk. Rawk doesn't mind the trickery, he still feels confident in his ability to win. He gets in close and is able to quickly snapkick Perseus in the head with an Aerial Ace, launching himself skyward.

He lands on the rafters, and peers over to see a swordblade fly over and slam him in the back. Rawk went down like a sack of bricks fell on him, as the Rafter bends under that power. He slams onto the mat, Perseus landing a second later.

Perseus stood over him, watching silently.

Rawk shook his head, and then performed a sweep kick in order to force Perseus back and to stand up. He flipped away, to the ropes of the ring, and bounded off them. Reaching another rafter, he kicked off it into a downward spiral, and performed a superman Fire Punch pose.

Perseus opened one hand and forced a massive Psychic wave to strike Rawk just then, pausing the fighter in mid-flight and launching him away. Rawk crashed into the stands, yipe!

I'd be remissed if I didn't bring this up, even though I'm effectively hindering myself here, but 21 damage seems like an awful lot for Stone Edge, considering it's only of normal effectiveness. When it was last used by Goku, it only did 13. Granted, there's an attack boost involved, but that's still rather high, doncha think? =P

Aaaaanyway: Perseus, you've done well here, so let's keep the attacks coming! Psychic, followed by Psycho Cut and Earthquake! However, if that firebird tries to avoid your Earthquake by leaping into the air, zap it with Thunderbolt instead!

Darkly seems to have trouble remembering that Rock moves are super-effective on Fire types yet NOT very effective against Fighters...

Anyway, they wanna get rough. Fine by me. Use Roar to cancel out his Psychic. Then Counter his Psycho Cut. Finally, use Aerial Ace to leap into the air, zoom past his attack, and sock him in the face!

I really do. I really really do x_x! I can't put it in my head that Fgt pwns Rock, and so Stone edge is only standard effective on Rawk. Maybe I just hate that bird soooo much.

Calm as ever Perseus watches Rawk stand back up. Why does it even try, can't it see he's the superior fighter here? Perseus lifts that felltale right hand again, and flexes his mental muscles, only to be taken aback by a massive shrill Roar from Rawk.

Since he was so calm the Roar didn't fully cancel his Psychic, but he did hold back quite a bit. Rawk felt the push, but was glad it wasn't full power.

Rawk runs the length of the mat over to Perseus, and the slightly agitated fighter loses his cool and goes for a more rugged and unpolished Stone Edge. The blade comes down on Rawk's shoulder, but the avianish fighter knlees so his hands can clasp on either side of the blade. He pushes up and then spins, grabbing the blade and pulling it over his shoulder. Perseus goes flying, elbow first into the mat. Yeowch!

This Psychic was ticking him off. Rawk began to bounce in place, watching Perseus as he retracted his blade in order to free his arm. Perseus raised one foot, and one arm, but Rawk took no chances, He performed a forward hand spring, launching himself skyward. The foot went down, but Perseus' hand stayed up, and crackled with electricity. Rawk streaked forward in the sky, gliding toward Perseus with heightened speed.

The Thunderbolt fired, and Rawk twisted in flight to avoid it. It sheared his back, but he smirked and slammed into Persues. That damn Gallade was still holding back.

Perseus rolled back from the strike, trying to regain his composure.

OK, now I'm just kind of curious: Why all the hate for Rawk Hawk? Blaziken is my favorite Pokemon. No more, no less.

...Rawk, we're in a tough spot. We gotta go defensive. Double Team until he finds the real you, or a way to negate your cloning technique. Then, if he attacks, use Protect followed by Endure (if you have any moves left).

If he doesn't attack at any point, or he attacks and misses you, blindside him with an Aerial Ace.

And if at any point he uses Taunt or Encore, close your eyes and cover your ears, and proceed as instructed. We are NOT going to fall this round!

Perseus seemed to be getting its stride back thus far in this battle, that Roar's effect wearing off. He re-extended his blades and watches carefully as Rawk tries to evade this competitor. Perseus smirked and ran at the group of clones, before diving at one of them. Blades slashes Rawk laterally, forcing him back and ripping the clones out of reality.

This wasn't good. Rawk was beginning to realize he'd been outsmarted all the while. So he needed a moment to think. He raised a protective barrier, and watched with a relaxed gaze as Perseus dashed at the and punched it, its hand flying backwards.

Looking down as Perseus stood in that odd elbow out pose, Rawk began to pant. He looked at where the elbow hit the shield, and noticed the blade had not only broke through-but it reached his gut! His shield failed?

Rawk's hands fell as Perseus hit the ground with his free arm, forcing an Earthquake to shudder through and rip Rawk from his standing position. The bird falls over, defeated for the first time by another fighting type!

First, Roar so her Safeguard is thrown off. Then, if her Safeguard didn't go up, use Toxic. If it did go up, use Hidden Power. Finally, use Will-O-Wisp if there's no Safeguard, and Counter her Aqua Tail if there is.

ROUND FIFTY-EIGHT

After a brief delay, the battle of Blademaster vs. ASB continues with Lynne summoning her serpent pokemon, Opal. The slender dragon hisses at her foe, but Rawk's not intimidated, no-no. The first round of this battle begins with Opal closing her eyes and focusing on a silvery shine that envelopes her body -- but as she does so, the Hawk caws and caws as loud as he can, in hopes to catch her off-guard. The roar is somewhat successful -- Opal remains protected, but the safeguard won't last nearly as long [ -6PP, Safeguard Opal / -3PP Rawk Hawk ].

The dragonair shrugs off her bout of confusion long enough to summon a large rain cloud to appear overhead... the stadium ceiling. Almost as if they hadn't learned anything at all, the rain starts pelting against the roof of the battlefield, and no one is soaked [ -4PP Opal ]. Rawk smirks, and takes advantage of his free hit by firing off a concussive beam of ghost energy. The beam collides with the mentally unaware dragonair, knocking her to the ground [ -7HP Opal / -5PP Rawk Hawk ].

No longer feeling embarrassment over her previous falter, Opal's long, slender tail shimmers an aqua blue color as she shimmies her way towards Rawk Hawk, who lies in wait. WHAM!, Opal slashes her foe with her watery appendage, dealing great damage [ -12HP Rawk Hawk / -8PP Opal ]. However, before she can make her escape, Rawk latches onto the tail and flings the dragon pokemon far away -- into a wall [ -18HP Opal / -10PP Rawk Hawk ].

ROUND FIFTY-NINE

Opal begins by revitalizing her safeguard; with no distractions this time, it is easily able to last for it's entire duration [ -6PP, Safeguard Opal ]. Meanwhile, Rawk speeds over to her side of the arena and crouches down for half a second before jettisoning her upward [ -5HP Opal / -5PP Rawk Hawk ]. The two climb high into the air for a few seconds before coming right back down. Rawk lands gracefully on his feet, almost as if he had rehearsed this beforehand; Opal, meanwhile, hits the ground with a loud thud [ -4HP Opal ], losing part of her majesty along the way.

Rawk continues the assault by slamming his fists into the ground, creating an earthquake [ -10HP Opal / -8PP Rawk Hawk ]. Opal squeals out before her blue eyes become darker. Suddenly, the sounds of rain tapping against the roof and windows of the arena become more violent as water crashes through. A sudden flood occurs, much to Opal's delight. Rawk suddenly gets washed away by the downpour almost [ -14HP Rawk Hawk / -7PP Opal ]. Not finished yet, Opal rides the waves and hits Rawk again, this time shooting upward into his torso, painfully [ -12HP Rawk Hawk / -6PP Opal ].

It takes a few moments, but the rain finally lets up and the arena becomes no longer flooded. The waterlogged fire pokemon shakes off the wetness before throwing himself forward, jabbing Opal with his stoney elbow [ -10HP Opal / -8PP Rawk Hawk ].

It did 5 damage going up and 4 damage going down; the way I see it, a lot of the damage from the attack comes from hitting the ground.

Well, Rawk, as sexy as Dragonair is, resist her advances by closing your eyes and Roaring at her. Then use Mirror Move. Finally, use another Sky Uppercut to launch her AND yourself over the water and then slam her back down when it recedes... Or just slam her into the rafters if it's too wet down there. Whatever keeps you dry.

ROUND SIXTY

Round six-zero begins with Opal batting her eyes and cooing in Rawk's direction, hypnotically suggesting to him that she is, in fact, the dragon he wants to spend the rest of his life (or at least, this night) with. But Rawk closes his eyes and plugs his ears, going "La-la-la," making her flirtacious advances meaningless [ -2PP Opal / -3PP Rawk Hawk ].

Annoyed at the failed attempt, and quite disheartened that her wooing attempts failed, Opal charges at the firery chicken with a rush of draconic energy. Rawk merely watches in awe, mentally jotting down the attack. BAM!, the dragonair collides into Rawk Hawk [ -10HP Rawk Hawk / -7PP Opal ], who proceeds to to perform the same attack on her. The attack causes more harm to the dragon pokemon at a higher energy cost to Rawk [ -15HP Opal / -10PP Rawk Hawk ].

Opal, dazed, squeals once more and her eyes get darker. Knowing what to expect, Rawk speeds over to Opal and uppercuts her once more [ -5HP Opal / -5PP Rawk Hawk ], shooting up into the air just fast enough to avoid the rushing tidal wave [ -7PP Opal ]. Rawk Hawk latches onto one of the rafters as Opal dives into the water, safely avoiding damage from the fall.

The water once more leaves the arena, but Rawk Hawk climbs into the rafters -- Opal glares at him from the floor.
