I've been thinking about getting Resident Evil 2, but I've never played any of the Resident Evils. Just wondering if it matters at all.

Not much but please DON'T PLAY IT IN THE DARK! That game is so ****ing scary I almost wet my pants while I was playing it.
Am I here? No. Will I return? Maybe.

Go ahead and buy it. The Resident Evil series is a bit jumbled anyway. All the games are based in the same location and (well, more or less) the same time as each other. Doesn't matter which order you play them. I bought RE 3 before RE 2 and it didn't spoil anything.

Speaking of RE 2, it's the only one to date that I've completed (the Leon A storyline to be exact). Took a long time, though...(mainly because I took a long break from it lol)

Resident Evil is the best game ever! That is why I bought a GameCube. I've been a fan for over five years. Yes, you should definitely but Zero, 2, 3 and Code Veronica X but Dead Aim and Survivor aren't all that great. Oh and the on-line game Resident Evil Outbreak is winging it's way to the PS2 aswell. Infact you may like to check out these pages. 8)
