So, why haven't YOU watched the 1st episode yet?

Frankly, it's bloody ace. A great return to form of all the best parts of the main series. It's a mixed blessing that the lead actor got ill if this is the result: a pretty sick prequel featuring most of the original cast (which is awesome if you liked the characters from the 1st season, since (Spoiler:) most of them die in the first season anyway.)

Anyone else watch this series?

I'll wait till it comes to TV here. But I absolutely loved Spartacus. Awesome battle scenes and the final episode was great. I'm very much looking forward to this prequel though I'm quite nervous about the second series.

Primarily, because the series will take us away from arena and I'm not sure the political aspects and personal ambitions that were such a focus in the first series will continue. Such a shame Andy Whitfeld (sp) can't continue.
