Battle:

As the four initial combatants face off, the two brutish warriors release golden orbs to pummel the two psionic opponents. While the psionic assaults failed to take hold in both cases, the two psychics can only hope and pray the battle ends better. Bluto continues to curse his luck as he is unable to locate a supply of water to lash out with, unable to do much he is struck again with second golden orb. The Xatu manages to accomplish something as his sizeable mental might drives Chops to the ground. Yet even this is insufficient to prevent the golden orb driving the bird into a wall. As Chops and Xatu continue to trade blows Top Gun blasts the hapless Bluto again.

Battle:

As the battle in the quickly crumbling mall continues, Chops attempts to deal with a sudden difficulty in drawing breath, he remains unaware of the psychic clench being applied by Bluto. Yet the brute perseveres and lashes out with the most basic way of solving a problem. With a howl that simply equates to Chops SMASH! the epic warrior drives all four polarized fists into Bluto’s torso. Top Gun sweeps away the Xatu’s initial pair of clones with a single rolling ball of golden plasma. As Bluto attempts to focus past the pain to force his opponent away, another pummeling barrage of charged fists connect with his body, leaving the aquatic sloth shuddering on the ground. Again Top Gun succeeds in clearing away the bird’s trio of clones with another rolling wave of energy. Changing strategies, Chops releases another golden orb hoping to cripple his opponent, yet to his chagrin, the orb rebounds off a reflective barrier and consumes the west wall. Nappy Head succeeds in calling forth five false images, two of which survive the onslaught of plasma.

Battle:

Fearing the end is near, Nappy Head concurs with his trainer that a healing dance is called for at this point. Playing the roll of a dance machine while a semi corporeal disco ball appears in the sky to illuminate the bird, Nappy Head is pleased to have a small portion of his wounds closed. This of course proves to be the only thing to prevent Chops’s first wave of plasma from sending the bird into unconsciousness. Bluto enjoys an intoxicated refreshment, then proceeds to attempt to batter an airborne lizard to the ground with fisticuffs. Annoyed that his foe survived the first wave, Chops prepares another blast to batter Nappy Head with. Nappy Head’s beak connects with the mighty Machamp’s shoulder, the rest of his body is enveloped in golden plasma. Nappy Head crumbles to the ground, his last thought is to flip the bird to his trainer. Bluto is continue to stumble around in a drunken haze while his target relaxes on a thermal above the mall. Chops turns to the dazed Bluto and releases a final wave of plasma to batter Bluto to the ground. While Chops has been victorious, he drops to his knees panting in exhaustion.

Battle:

As Top Gun and Chops face off against their second set of opponents, the mighty Machamp lays down to enter a healing trance to undo as much of the damage he has suffered as possible. While he is entering his trance, Smoke Bomb covers the arena in a gag-inducing cloud of smoke. To Chops’s horror, his reaction to the cloud proves enough to prevent him from entering his healing trance. As Top Gun begins his spiraling decent, Spark Plug releases a single crackling bolt of electricity that misses the Aerodactyl.

As Chops again attempts to enter his healing trance, he finds it extremely difficult to do so as he is struck in the back by a large globule of sludge detonates, sending him reeling into oblivion. As Top Gun drops down, he drops a single golden beam of plasma into Spark Plug’s Lap sending him into the ground. Spark Plug retaliates with a single bolt of electricity to drop the lizard to the ground. Top Gun slaps the ground with both of his wings, generating a seismic disturbance with enough power to drop the Electabuzz back on his tail. As Spark Plug returns to his feet for a second time, Smoke Bomb drops an explosive acidic charge on Top Gun’s wing. The explosion leaves an unhealthy looking burn mark on his wing, the exposed flesh appears to be an extremely unhealthy looking purple. Spark Plug lashes out with another burst of electricity, leaving the lizard grounded as the electrical charge rips through his body.

Battle:

The fallen Chop’s trainer recalls him to replace him with a fine example of an Ivysaur dubbed Bo. A Kadabra standing off on the sideline grips his spoon as if it was the pummel of a sword greets Bo. A beam of energy springs forth, forming the blade of his sword. An honorable solute is offered before returning to his ball.

As Bo covers Spark Plug in toxic waste, his partner elects to further ravage the mall by generating another seismic disturbance. Even as he falls to the ground, Spark Plug is able to strike the large lizard with another bolt of electricity to leave him in the throes of a seizure. Smoke Bomb regrets the beating his ally has taken and vents his fury on Bo, covering him in flames.

Spark Plug strikes Top Gun twice with impunity as his foe continues to spasm on the shattered marble of the mall’s floor. Smoke Bomb and Bo trade blows of scorching bursts of flame for bursts of solar energy.

Spark Plug turns toward the heavens and beckons rain to pour down from the heavens to guide his righteous smiting bolt of divine electricity into the cursed infidel known simply as Top Gun. As the rain begins to fall Smoke Bomb calls forth a bolt of electricity to finish off the stone lizard. Bo releases a weakened beam of solar energy into the resistant form of Koffing. As the groups trade blows of powerful resisted attacks, the round comes to an end.

Battle:

As Peke replaces the fallen lizard Smoke Bomb releases a single beam of psychic energy to strike the weakening Ivysaur. The charging Electabuzz raises his two hands over his head in preparation to properly greet the yellow rodent. Ignoring the electrical charge Peke employs in hopes of stopping the electric powerhouse, Spark Plug drives his two meaty paws into his adversary’s torso leaving the rat reeling. Bo drives a burst of solar energy into Spark Plug’s back sending him into oblivion.

The young rodent attempts to avoid a lashing from his own tail to be delivered by an unconscious opponent by raising a barrier of light between himself and the fallen Electabuzz. Bo moves erratically, hoping to avoid the attack that doesn’t come as Smoke Bomb continues to gain momentum.

Smoke Bomb releases his pint up momentum in the form of a rolling tackle, something that Bo willingly leaps into headfirst. As Smoke Bomb is sent reeling from the force of the blow, Bo crumbles and falls unconscious. Peke runs circles around the fallen Spark Plug.

As the two new pokemon acquire their bearings Smoke Bomb begins to spin wildly in mid air. Felix lashes out at the revolving bomb with a howl that disrupts everyone’s sense of balance. Peke falters in his dance and mournfully watches as Killer sweeps the sky clear of clouds. Smoke Bomb continues to gain speed as Felix stares at the flushed Houndoom. Having reached his target momentum Smoke Bomb drives into Felix and sends him flying backwards. Her psychic assault drives Smoke Bomb back into the ground, but the bruised butterfly is in pain. Peke releases a bolt of electricty but fails to connect as she pants in exhaustion. Killer turns to Felix and envelopes her in a burst of flames, scorching her body and clearing her mind of the attraction. Peke blasts Killer with a bolt of lightning, again drawing heavily from his own internal power supply.

Battle:

The desperate pairs still both feel they have a chance of winning this match. But for the moment it would appear that Smoke Bomb and Killer have a plan to enact. As Smoke bomb releases a cloud of thick smoke to fill the rubble of the mall, Killer levels a burst of flames to scorch the hapless Butterfree’s thorax. Within the cloud, Peke finds it impossible to aim at the hellhound within. His bolt connects harmlessly with the shattered marble floor. Felix’s telekinetic thrust also fails to connect with anything in the haze.

Within the cloud the hovering orb takes the time to spin in place gaining momentum. Killer gathers what little light he can to drive the electric rat to the ground with a beam of solar energy. Felix floods the cloud with spores that take hold on killer and Peke, causing their muscles to tense sporadically. Peke’s wave of electricity fails to increase the problems caused by his partner’s spores. As the cloud of smoke clears, Felix latches her two legs on Killer in the hopes of replenishing his life force only to have her torso ripped into by the powerful jaws of the hellhound. The pitiful rodent drives his static charged fist into the rapidly spinning Koffing a heart beat before being sent reeling from the blow.
