Why are you quoting a post from 2004?

You can have them, but be careful not to adopt any pokemon you don't intend to keep. I'd hate to see them abandoned. Too many people have adopted pokemon on an impulse and then given them up not long afterwards.

By showing how strong it is, now that I'm more for strategy, rather than beat opponent into the ground, lol...

pokemon4eva: why me? Hydro Pump is a LOT stronger than Water Pulse, but it's also less accurate and doesn't have possible side-effects like the confusion on Water Pulse. So it's up wo you whether you prefer to start with a 120 base power move which has a 20% chance of missing, or a 60 base power move that has a 20% chance of inducing confusion. Of course you could always start with Water Pulse, which is more than good enough for low level pokemon, and then either save up for a Hydro Pump TM or give it to your Goldeen when she reaches level 10, which should be after she wins her next battle.

Steve: now you're really making me curious. Strategy'sgood, though.

I didn't see water pulse as an egg move for goldeen:
At lv.9 it should have
Horn attack, Peck, Tail Whip, Water Sport, and a breed on move from these options I found:
Hydro pump
Psybeam
Haze
Sleep Talk
Mudsport (good move for water types facing electric moves)

Tutor moves are:
Ice beam
Double edge
Mimic
Substitute
Swift
Snore
Icy wind
Endure
Sleep talk
Swagger

If you were going for a TM/HM as an egg move, Surf would be effective, with Stab, decent base power behind it(95), great accuracy(100%), and can hit multiple targets at once.

But that's just my humble opinion...

LV, with a pokemon that can lower it's foes attack at the start of a battle, can induce sleep, has some dark and psychic type moves in it's pool, plus other nice moves, I can't help but be attracted, plus, in ASB, like with my Chansey, and Kangaskahn, I could make it feared...
