Okay, let's get started. That's the easiest way to show you how to play if you're not completely sure.

This one's horrible. I probably should've rated it as 4, but I'm not that generous.

Distortion
Approved by Zak/Aipom of Doom
Founder: Chris
Abstract: Guess the contents of a blurred, unfocused, warped or otherwise distorted image - Guess the contents of even harder distortions to score even more points
Outline
The thread starter posts an image that he/she (or someone unrelated to the game) has affected in some way - Photoshopped, blurred, warped, or any combination of filters. The starter also has to attach a score value to the image - the number of points a player will score if he/she guesses what the image contains:
5 - Very difficult
4 - Difficult
3 - Standard
2 - Fairly easy
1 - Very easy
Players are allowed to guess three times per distortion (to involve as many people as possible per round).
If a player guesses the contents of an image correctly, the starter must post the original, undistorted image. The winner of the round then becomes the starter for the next round, and must post a distorted image. The game repeats in this way.
Guidelines
- Start a new thread every 15 pages to cut down on excessive bandwidth usage. This game is going to be pretty bandwidth-heavy.
- At the start of a new thread, make an appropriate comment in the thread title recommending 56K (dialup) users not to view the thread, since it will most likely contain many images that will kill their connections.
- Ensure that this is the first post made in each Distortion thread, so new players can grasp the concept of the game and get playing as quickly as possible.
- The thread starter is responsible for keeping the scoreboard (in the first post of each thread) up-to-date.
- Don't distort images that are going to be excessively hard to guess, like landscapes. It spoils the game. Try to stick to common, everyday items that people will stand a chance of guessing.
- You may only guess a maximum of three times per round. Failure to observe this rule may result in your being unable to play in future.

ok Chris, it is a nipple.

You're way off with that one.

It looks sort of like a lemon
Still way off... It's not a fruit. The best strategy is to try and work out which filters I've applied to it.

Edit: I wonder if this game have the rules of this...
>_>=8= After you've made a post on a game, you have to wait until at least 2 more people have posted after you before posting again on that topic.
There are a few games excempt from this rule. They are Lingo, Hangman, Goldenrod Tower, Expedia, AC/CC Topics, Who's That Trainer, The Riddle Game and Questions Only. People playing Questions Only shall abide by the 5 posts a day rule. If you want to post a game and you consider that, for some reason, it should be excluded from this rule, state your reason to one of the mods and we will discuss it on a game by game basis.
I'll use my guess for this one... condom, perhaps?

We're not going to Guam... are we?
My guess is a pocket knife
Still none correct so far, but Craig is thinking along the right lines.
Pichu: I suppose that rule would work for everyone except the starter of each round... Though it kind of goes without saying, if you only have 3 guesses per round, you probably won't want to waste them all in 30 seconds.

I'll take my second stab at this...
It kind of look like some kind of spoon...
Perhaps it's a spork? (if ya don't know, a spork is a spoon/fork hybrid)
...I'm not dead yet!
Getting closer, but still not there yet... Maybe I should have given this 4 points.

sword
This is going to be way off.. X3
But to me, it kinda looks like a bow.. Like a bow-and-arrow bow? ^^;
I'm going to guess an upside down bowl.
You know, it kind of look like one eyes . (unimportant)
but I think it really look more like shades / glasses more especially the lens part of it. You know, the top yellow part maybe part of the framing of the glasses and the gray part maybe is the lens itself... o_o;
*shrugs*
*sits back and watches everyone else post*
You're starting to go off-rail slightly, so I'll make it a bit easier:
Still for 3 points.

ice cream scooper!
Frisbee maybe?

Question: Where can we find good images to distort, and more importantly, how do we distort them?
I think it may be a pen (as in writing), but I'm probably way, way off. *shrugs*

What the...?! $100 for one of those programs? I'm sorry, but unless it's free (or very close to it) I won't be able to come up with distortion images. It's just not worth 100 bucks for a forum game. That doesn't mean I won't participate in this game, though... I just may not be able to make images in return, until I can find a solution.
I am glad I won, though. But isn't there a program that can do it that you wouldn't have to pay for? It'd be irritating if you had to buy one of those massively overpriced packages just for distortion. (Heck, one of them cleared $600! )
You can get Photoshop CS free from bitTorrents.. =P

Okay, I can't find bitTorrents with a search, and I can't figure out how to use kainashi's program (or even get into it). I have a feeling I'm either installing that program wrong, or I'm trying to open the wrong file/application to start it up. Could someone walk me through it?
Sorry about the trouble, but I've never heard of most of these programs.
EDIT: Okay, Pichu sent me a helpful website. (Thanks, Pichu!) I'm downloading the necessary stuff right now... let's see... it's 43% complete... with 22 minutes to go. Whee.
When I get it working, I'll delete this post and make a new post with the new picture. Sorry for the delay.

I'm gonna say that's a cat. Laying on a green rug or something? XD
a bowl ?
Nope, neither of those are correct.
Has this been put under the exceptions in the post limit of the PCG rules? It would really help to have that, at least for the person who makes the image.
I thought that rule was gone.
I would like to see it at least removed. I doubt the only people left at TPM would abuse it when it isn't there.

It has to be an animal of some sort... I've worked out 2 of the filters you applied to it, but I can't for the life of me work out the other(s)...

Could it be a white silk scarf?

Hmm.. is it possible to reverse the filters? I couldn't find the anti clockwise tool. x_x; (I know that's the wave tool) It maybe bloated a bit too.Originally Posted by Chris
Anyway, I think its a bird of some sort, maybe a white swan but let's not be so specific. I say it's a BIRD.
This round is over! The 3 points go to nightcrow, because this picture is indeed a dog!
Congrats, nightcrow! It's your turn!
P.S. Sorry, Typact. You were very close, but your guess was just slightly off. It was an excellent first guess, though.
