Default Burning .avi files to DVD

Is there any program that will let me download .avi or .mpg or any other video files to a DVD that will play in a normal player? Thanks all!

Take a look at Nero if you're new to this kind of thing. It'll let you do anything under the sun with MPEGs and AVIs. If you're more technical-minded, look at TMPGEnc.
