Colosseum Music

I have been wondering about this for a while. For some of the Colosseum music (not like the Gameboy sounding ones, the ones that sound like they are made with real instruments), are they actually recorded from an orchestra and put into the game? I am kind of confused on some of the music because part of it sounds real and part sounds gameboy sometimes.

Also, for GB music, how do they make it? Do they use a computer or what?

Collosseum probably uses MIDIs - however, MIDIs are quite flexible and can sound as good as necessary, with everything from vocals to mimicking orchestras. Metroid Prime uses MIDIs.
