You could try something like Tuneup Utilities 2004 (yeah last year but it still works for me) to try to remove the rest of the RealPlayer crap.
Then you can go and try Real Alternative which is bundled with Media Player Classic. I've been using it for a long time now and it works fine with me. Now you can play Real files (who uses them anymore anyway) and not have Real take over your computer. If you like the alternative, you can also try Quicktime Alternative, too.
