Summertime

Ahh, its a wonderful time. I love summer. Not just because of the blistering 106 degree heat, mind you. I love summer because the introduction of the Summer X-mas tree begins. On June 15th, the Summer tree will once again reawaken from its slumber, and you all will able to partake in the festivities. I imagine it will have some differences this time around, but I'm sure it will be for the better. Rules will be posted in the appropriate topic, so get ready

Can we please stop calling it summer? It is only summer for half the world... How about a 'mid year tree'? Or a 'June-a-poloza tree'? Think of the children in Africa... Not to mention South America, Antarctica and Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and the tropics)... There are four continents for you to consider... Yes, I know we have a lot of members in the USA/Canada regions, and some in Europe, but that's only two continents...

Just saying.

Also... Tree goes up on my birthday!!!

Hey all!

DL here, with all of the wonderful thoughts and ideas for ASB this August. I don't want to waste time with all the mumbo jumbo funny jokes that I could make about our vanished Mod MLG and the super active Greyfox! I'll get to those in a moment. But have a gander and check it out!

Safari Zone

With all the hoopla in the Zone, its become quite the hive of activity. I'm appreciative of everyone being patient with all the vacation time of others, and it looks like we have a bevy of stories brewing in the Zone. As with the seasonal change, I feel its time to alert you all about what I've heard.

I've noted that others have noted that Latias speeds through the skies of the ocean, and some have speculated that Ho-Oh flies around the whole of the Zone. There's also rumblings of a Shaymin running along places here and there.

Keep enjoying the Zone folks, and be sure to enjoy all facets of the realm.

Egg Shop/Move Tutor

Can we please give it up to Greyfox for the maintaining of the Move Tutor Shop?!?! Its crazy what's been available so far, and I'm sure he has a ton more to make available. Keep on getting these moves, its making ASB just a crazy place to battle. Strategies evolve, and everyone is making so much more creative choices. I'm just loving all the imagination here. Enjoy the new swath of moves!

The Egg shop's deal ends today as well, and we're back to the normal prices. But thank you for buying and keep on picking up eggs!

Events

Now-we're a lively bunch, and I think it's about time for another Tournament. Can you believe it, we're going for three! I'll let Greyfox iron out the details-since its his Tournament. But it seems to be an exciting one!!!

Also, don't forget about the ASB awards! We're up to the voting stage, so please, cast your votes in! Greyfox is eager to collect all those ballots! I'm eager to see who wins what! Remember, they're due by Aug 14th, so please, take the 5 minutes to vote for who you think should win these Awards.

Oh and hey now! Be sure to thank all the refs keeping up with the surge in activity. Both Saf Zone and Battle refs, good job!

In closing...

Its great to see ASB grow and evolve into what its now. Just be sure to be patient with everyone and ASB will most definitely be as much fun as you put into it. I'm out-and back on the prowl!

ASB Newsletter: November NaNoNess

Heyo! Bet you thought this was never gonna come huh! Well I'm seriously excited for the end of this year. We got a bit to cover, and yet this Newsletter might be short, so just keep your eyes peeled on the horizon. No jokes, let's dive right in.

Tournament:
As you know, we are in the second round of our Dragon Tamer's Tournament. It's been a good first round, and we have some serious battles starting. There will be three finalists, so one can only wonder what Grey has in store for them once it's all said and done. Note-that this Tournament is gonna get a little shove, and we're gonna try to finish it before the 2nd of December. It can get done, I know it can. Let's make it happen

Contests:
Oslo graciously hosted the last Contest, and it was a smashing great time. So, we're definitively thinking of a November one. Keep an eye on the BT section to prepare. I can tell you this much-there might be TWO in tandem!

Everyday battles:
It's trying sometimes, to start reffing and then to have a battle end in DQ. Or to have a ref vanish. It's taxing on everyone. I'm sorry for the fact that it's been a bit of a issue we've brushed under the rug in lieu of our real lives. Now, I'm not saying I'm back 100%, but I can say I am making more of a concerted effort to be more reliable. Grey's a busy boy and I wanna help take that pressure off. That being said-I'm gonna start by addressing and creating a solution for one of the major issues we've had for a while now.

GYM LEADER NOMINATIONS ARE NOW!

Over the last few months, we've had a surge of folks attempt badges, and we've had a few winners. What I now shall propose is that everyone that has won a Gym Badge in the last 6 months please post in the appropriate Topic in the B&T Forum ALONG WITH YOUR GYM.

Obviously, if you are a Gym Leader already, don't post, or I will stuff you in a box and mail you to Abu Dhabi. If you are currently in a Gym Battle, and you manage a win-then you can still participate in this Nomination.

It's about time we had a full roster again, right?

Safari Zone:
Oh, I haven't forgotten about our excellent Saf Zone. Everyone seems pleased, but I think its time to give something a shot (mainly because I'm super anxious to attempt this.) So. First, I'm going to announce what Legends are running around for the period of November and December.

There have been sightings of Shaymin brightening up folk's day in dimmer areas. I also, have personally seen a rather hyperactive pair of Lati's again. Must be looking for the last ones that went AWFULLY fast. Victini is also still on the loose, the little bugger.

Misc:
Well now. With that, I think I covered the basics. To everyone doing Nano/Movember; good luck to you all. Keep fightin' ASB and let's have alot more fun. I'm looking forward to more battles in the future with all you Legend wielders.

As far as I can tell, the only Gym match Ayeun has completed in the past six months was against Grey. There haven't been any losses between CEB, Mew, Dogfish and me, which leaves Wolf's win against your Gym... and the ongoing matches between Cynder/Mew, Ash/you and *raises fists* BTPoke/me.

ASB Newsletter: January 2013

Look at this! If you are reading this, then welcome to the other side of the Mayan world. I thank you for taking the time out of your post apocalyptic society to read up on this small section of the still surviving internet. So, let's go through this so you all don't miss a thing!

Tournament:
So. The Tournament is still going. I do hope to finish it soon, as we will be having an new one ready to go. It's going to be small, so you keep an eye on the B&T forums, so you don't miss your chance.

Contests:
We haven't had one in a while. That's partially due to my situation, and I apologize for letting that slide. I'll try to get one up for next month, as this month looks more and more hectic as the days go on. But that's neither here nor there. Look for contests on the horizon, or try to be a contest Ref. It's honestly not hard, and if you are really interested, just do the Mock Reffing in the Reffing tower and give it a go.

Everyday battles:
We got alot of battles going, and that's always good. I ask all the newer people to be patient with us. We understand your DQ times. We as refs though may need a few days to get to every battle we pick up. So don't bump battles more than once every 3-4 days, less if you can help it. We'll seek them out for the most part.

Gyms
Yer probably wondering what happened to the Gym Leader and the Elite 4.
Well, we've decided to do a bit of restructuring. As of now, there is no more Elite 4. This does not mean there will never be an Elite 4 in our ASB. What it does mean is that now you have 7. GYM. LEADERS!

Yes. As of today, January 7th 2013, the current Gym Leaders are inclusive of myself, Ayeun, Crazy Elf Boy, Greyfox, Oslo, BTPoke, Cynder and Wolfsong. Give them adoration. Give them praise. Then try to whip up in their Gyms. This gives everyone some more room to try and attain some badges.

But what of the E4. What happens to them? Well-head over to the Tower of the Ascended and read all about the changes. It should be a very exciting year.


Safari Zone
The Saf Zone is still kicking. Which is great. Pastures are great ways to empty out Pokemon that you can't unload on newbies. Speed runs haven't been taken yet, but I have a way to fix that . Quite a few Legends have been caught, but there are more in there. It's always great to read the adventures people think up, kudos to you all.

Misc
The Move Tutor shop has been updated HEAVILY, so I suggest you check that out for sure. Get those hard to get or missing moves on your Pokemon. Remember, you can have 4 moves max specialized for your Pokemon-otherwise you'll need to unlearn one.

Though silent, the Casino is still open. You can win a few good prizes in order to beef up your team or save for a rainy day. So go try your luck in there.

All members that joined since November 2012 are entitled to two points. Link back here, and I will be checking the bank now too, so no double dipping!

The Winter season tree is ending soon, so finish up those gift giving extravaganzas. Aside from that...keep battling, ASB.
