“A party, huh? This should be fun! I haven’t been to a party in ages!” I said as I hovered along the ground, the tips of the hair on my hind legs barely dragging on the ground. I held the heaping bowl of candy against my back with my three tails, since my arms were too short to hold such a large item. I raced across the land, dodging trees as I followed the edge of the road.
It wasn’t long before I encountered the giant mansion in which the party would take place. “Holy jeebies!” Looking at such a large building made me feel even smaller than I already was. I quickly made my up the long driveway, bouncing along with a bright smile on my face. Arriving at the door, I looked up to see the door knocker was FAR out of my reach. Pounding on the door as hard as I could, it barely made any noise because of my tiny body. “Grrr... How am I gonna get inside!?!” I looked around, but saw no one around that could assist me. “Curse this frail body!”
I glanced down both sides of the house to see all the lights on....except one, which suddenly turned on as I watched. “Someone must have just gone into that room!” I bounced along and made my way to the window. I knew this would be my best bet because the other rooms would be bustling with people and they wouldn’t notice me outside the window. Here, the room would be quieter and I would have a MUCH better chance at being seen!
Standing up on my tip-toes, I could just barely see over the bottom edge of the window. A little girl was just entering the room as I looked in. Taking a piece of candy from the bowl that I had set beside me, I threw it up at the window. I clicked off of it, but it was enough noise to catch her attention, even though I threw another, just in case. Within moments she was unlatching the window and looking down at me curiously; as if she had never seen such a strange and bizarre, yet adorable and fuzzy creature like me before.
As she reached out of the window and grabbed me under my arms. I grabbed the bowl again and was swiftly lifted through the window and into the mansion. She set me on the floor and knelt down in front of me. “Awww! You’re so cute!” I gave a little blush and set the bowl down. Pulling a piece from the mass, I handed it to her. “And nice too!” she reached out and patted my head. “I’m Adalia. Do you have a name?”
”I’m Miles! And I’m here to par-teh!” I said, throwing my paw into the air. She seemed a little stunned at my sudden speech, but smiled and thought it all the more loveable!
As she began to stand up, she moved around to my backside. Picking me up around my chest, I soon found myself slung between her arms, hanging like a teddy bear in her rather childish grasp. “Whee! This’ll be fun!” I shouted, gleefully closing my eyes.
“Uh-huh! Let’s go!” She gave a little giggle as we took off...
