I've always wondered, WTF is this Gaiaonline? My cousin plays it, all her friends play it, and I hear all these people talking about it. What is it exactly?

GaiaOnline is a large forum where one is represented by a little anime-styled avatar of one's own creation. This avatar can be customized using the various clothes, hairstyles, and accesories that are available in the various Gaia World shops. To 'purchase' these, one needs the site's currency: gold. Gold can be gained by surfing through the various pages, though more is made through creating topics, polls, and posts. Thus, the forum is swamped with low-quality posts made by those who need to get some cat-ears for their avatar.

I'm biased.

Here's a link so you can form your own opinion. I know a lot of people love Gaia, my sister included. I'm not one of those who love it.

While it's true that the Chatterbox and other such forums are filled with idiots who spam to buff their gold count, you actually can find good places to hang out on Gaia. Most of the older members have come to realise by now that you gain more gold if you don't pay attention to your gold count as you post, anyway.

And aside from the forums there are also games and other things to do, so it's not all posting.

And Smear, if you see Lanzer or Vo at Otakon, can you please ask them what the hell they were thinking when they decided to put that retarded banner at the top of the page that looked like a Disney show with kids on the beach? *is thankful they changed it*

OMG Gaia Online x.x Its fun if it werent for the 'people' aspect XD Too full of emo little 12 year olds whos mommys and daddys are rich, and since they are Bored and with no real conflict in their lives they whine and cry about how much their lives suck and how horrible things are for them so they cut themselves and get pregnent and other shit like that lol

That was my impression of the people on the boards there, good luck trying to roleplay on the public boards XD
But yeah its semi fun, I havent played in forever but when I do I mainly just play the fishing game. Its sort of like Neopets only you buy stuff for your avatar instead of your pet(s). If you never went to the boards it would be a really fun place lol
