Double posting, or just a Public Service Announcement?

I have a question about where a certain thread should be posted.

I posted a thread in the GSC board, that explains how to replace the battery in your Game Boy cartridge. Since it would apply both to the GSC and the RBY games, should I post the same thread in the RBY board, or just make a thread to direct people to the tutorial? Or would that be considered double-posting or advertising even though they would be in different boards?

I know that lots of people have games that can't hold a save file anymore, and they could benefit from learning how to repair them. I just want to make sure it isn't a violation to post in different boards (RBY and Binary District) to tell people about the process and link them to the tutorial.

I think you're making too big a deal out of it.

Just post in both forums. Only a mod with a lot of sand up theirs would take issue, and half the mods don't really care anymore. Go for it.
