Good place to start...
I'm currently working on a research project with a friend documenting and researching the PokeGod phenomenon. While we've uncovered the origin and spread of many of the PokeGods and rumors, the early history is still largely a mystery to us.
I was talking to someone that said she had gone to this forum and that much of the rumors were discussed here. She recommended digging through archives, but Wayback doesn't present anything but the main page of the forum. I was wondering if anyone from those early days still frequented this board and if they had any information to give or stories to tell.

Sorry, but I'm aware of Bulbapedia. I've actually dealt with them before, as they've stolen information from us without citing. They also put up misinformation and outright lies. They ended up banning me when I tried to correct those mistakes as well as ask for proper citation, claiming it was all "made-up bullshit" and couldn't be cited. They're really nowhere near a good source on the subject. Thank you anyways.
Also, we're not necessarily "starting" as this project has been ongoing for nearly ten years.
It was actually discussed a few years ago in this thread. So that would be a good place to check.

Nice thread... I see you say that the PokeGods were mentioned in a magazine. Any recollection which magazine that might have been? We've collected dozens of references to Pikablu in magazines, but so far nothing specific to the phenomenon.
