    Default Dark Sage versus Blademaster! Ref: DarkestLight

    That's right. I'm challenging Blademaster to a rematch, seeing as I have some new blood that I want to use. If he doesn't want to or doesn't have a slot, this becomes an open challenge.

    Here are the specifics:

    DQ Time: One week

    Disallowed moves: Rest, Substitute, Perish Song, Destiny Bond, any direct status inflictors. (Toxic and Thunder Wave are not allowed, Body Slam is okay.) Direct healers are allowed, but each pokemon may only use one. (This only applies to direct healing moves like Recover. Indirect healers like Drain Punch may be used as often as you like.)

    Pokemon: Two Pokemon, one out at a time. Also, we are only allowed to use Pokemon that are in their youngest evolutionary stage. Also, Pokemon that do not evolve (like Miltank and Kangaskhan) are not allowed.

    Arena: Let's keep it simple... Standard Indigo League arena.

    Other: We PM our first choices to the ref so there is no intentional Type-trumping. He decides at random who attacks first.

    So... Are you up to it, Blade?

    Since my Gym Match with Jeff STILL hasn't started yet, I accept. I can't say no to a challenge... or a battle with you, DS. Heh heh.

    Nidoran versus Nidoran. This should be a blast...

    Crystal, first hit her with Take Down.

    Then, use Shock Wave.

    Next, cool her off with Water Pulse.

    What the bloody Hell...?

    Alley, show that fraud why sending the same species against my Pokemon is a bad idea.

    Start by waiting for her to get close, and then douse her with your own Water Pulse - try and make it as focused as possible. Then fry her with a water-enhanced Thunder attack. End the round by smashing her in the face with an Iron Tail.

    Move: Water Pulse, Thunder, Iron Tail

    ===Round 1===

    Here we are folks....The Indigo Stadium. A true test of mettle. Seriously, I'm reffing here in 3 battles simultaneously, gotta love projection and hologram technology.

    But no matter. My two favorite battlers have requested my services once again. Dark Sage and Blademaster, with their own terribly hot feud-have decided its time for a base form rematch. Ironically, this match starts off with the same Pokemon, Nidoran F!

    Crystal dashes forward, steadily building up steam as Alley rat watches. Ally Rat seems a but slow, until terrible amounts of water start drooling from her body. Forcing the Pulse of water into tight, small and highly repetitive rings, she's able to knock Crystal back and to the left.

    But Crystal took the hit, kept her steam and bashed into Alley, knocking her back a good meter and a half.

    Crystal: -6E/-7H ==///== Alley: -6E/-8H

    With no quarter yielding as of yet, Alley decides to turn things up a notch. Calling upon the power of Thor, she sets her sights on Crystal..and sees Crystal sparking too! THE DOPPELGANGERNESS MUST END! Squeaking her protest, a thick stream of lightning cascaded down upon Crystal-but not before a smaller wave of energy left Crystal, headed for Alley. Both Pokemon got shocked at the same time...

    but yeah, I'm pretty sure Crystal's hurt more.

    Crystal: -5E/-10H ==///== Alley: -10E/-7H

    Fine. Crystal wanted to be physical earlier, Alley decided it was time to return the favor. With her stubby tail gaining a thick sheen , she dashed over and suddenly felt a thick Pulse of Water strike in...in the rear! Totally thrown off her game, she rolled to teh side, and instead sideswiped Crystal with her Ironed Tail. Crystal fell over, her leg feeling quite pained.

    ===Round 2===

    Round 2 folks. The competitors give their orders, and the Pokemon go?!..wait DS just said he's hot...

    :idesteps a bit:: Alright. Crystal begins to bounce around intricately, calling upon the heavens to deliver the storms of might. They answer, and even as they fall, Alley looks solemn and downtrodden. Her tail wags remorsefully, Crystal staring with sadness filling her heart. Yeah, her guard is knocked down.

    Crystal: -4E -1 Def ==///== Alley: -2E

    Before Crystal begins to cry, Alley bares her teeth and lunges! Protecting herself, Crystal rolls partially into a ball, and snickers. While Alley did manage to Crunch her back, Alley was bounced off immediately, and held her mouth closed.

    Alley bit into the sharp barbs on Crystal's back, an effective Counter for such a situation.

    Crystal: -6E/-9H ==///== Alley: -7E/-9H

    Upset her mouth was bleeding a river, Alley growled and grounded herself, building up energy around her horn. The raindrops that fell began to freeze-adding a sort of icy defense to the energy as it built up.

    Crystal saw the incoming and made ready her counter, thunderclaps roaring as one humongous bolt of Lightning bounced from across the sky, and made its titanic leap down to the terra.

    Crystal was then blasted backwards by the Ice Beam Alley created. Rolling backwards, Crystal would not witness her handiwork, as that bolt seared and cooked Alley horrendously.

    That's because.... Crystal's body had a thin layer of ice stuck to it! She was stuck rolled up in a ball!

    ===Round 2===

    With the rain adding a deepened chill to the arena, Crystal struggles to find some sort of freedom. Alas, her prison seems to grow as a second blast of Ice Beams over her, casting a even thicker sheen atop of her faceted prison.

    However, one comforting touch alighted her. The rainwater was seeping through, and running along her back. Maybe she could jab a barb and wedge the ice a bit more...

    Crystal: -7H ==///== Alley: -8E

    Alley dosen't care. She rears her head back and fires another Ice Beam at the rocking Crystal. Rain water gave her enough leeway to force a barb into a crack, and she wriggled as best she could as the second beam hit, causing her to skid along the ground, grinding against that crack...

    Splinters could be seen along her prison, and with a final forceful shake, the ice blasted from around her! She roared her discontent at being picked on while in such a state, and watched as Alley pondered the meaning of life, after a second Thunder rained down from the heavens.

    Crystal: -10E/-7H ==///== Alley: -8E/-10H

    DAMN! Alley grunted, and turned to fire another Ice Beam, but her attack was met by a Furious Crystal. The Beam fired-freezing Crystal's left forelimb. However, Crystal kept Swiping-that frozen paw now becoming an aid rather than a hindrance.

    Alley bounced backwards after 4 consecutive hits, Crystal plodding after her with her ice-peg leg.

    ..Oh yeah, rain ended.

    ===Round 3===

    Puddles adorn the area, and Crystal splashes through a few as she runs toward the opposing Nidoran F in her territory! Crystal's body starts to spark, just as she realizes she's running into a gunfight with a knife! 5 clones of Alley all sneer and growl at Crystal, as she skids to a stop, firing off the Shock Wave that would snap through the entourage and shock them out of existence.

    Alley didn't like this at all, and backed up, already gearing up for whatever may come next.

    Crystal: -6E ==///== Alley: -4E/-6H

    But does Crystal care about Alley's defensive state? No. She barrels forward again, this time releasing a heavier blast of the ionic forces to rupture Alley's senses. Alley cries out, but sucks up her tears, and forces them forward (along with a series of puddles) into a Water Pulse. The pulse strikes Crystal backwards, and she stops in place...seemingly bemused by the relative weakness of the attack.

    Crystal: -8E/-6H *Confused!* ==///== Alley: -6E/-9H *Par*

    Alley backed away again, and sat down, fearing that she may not get any time to relax.

    But, fortune smiled just then, as Crystal started to do a two-step to her own inner rhythms. It seemed moreso that she was stomping the ground under her, she thought Alley was directly under her.

    The Icy leg was starting to splinter as well.

    *Sigh* confusion+reflection=weird outcome to this round.

    I imagine, due to the rapid sucession, that the victim would not be able to counter until the fury swipes had finished. Counter would counter the damage for the attack altogether, not the damage from one of the multiple swipes.

    ===Round 4===

    Crystal stops stomping over the reflection of her, and spies another spitting image in the form of Alley. This doppelganger mess had to end! She dashed forward, and was able to successfully tarnish Alley's face with Swipe after Swipe of Fury! Alley grunted with each passing it, until the third hit ended. Alley grabbed the paw with her mouth, and flung Crystal down into the dirt with her own momentum. A pretty effective Counter.

    Crystal: -6E/-7H ==///== Alley: -6E/-5H

    However she got knocked to the ground didn't matter for the bewildered Crystal. She began rolling around in the dirt, utterly confused still. Alley snickered at this development, and wasted no time in burrowing down and away..

    Crystal: *Confused!* ==///== Alley: -2E

    Crystal continued to lie there, until a rumbling snapped her free of her confused ways! Standing on her hind legs, she allowed herself to be forcefully thrown from the ground as Alley zipped free of the underground! Alley landed on all fours as Crystal landed on her back again. However, a small purple light could be seen from Crystal, whom flung herself up and slashed Alley across the chest with a distinctly Shadowed Claw. Alley cringed, that hit STUNG!

    Hold it! If Crystal was snapped out of confusion, why didn't she use Shadow Claw like I told her to? Her opponent was right there.

    OK, Alley, it's time to finish her off.

    Use Blizzard. Make it wide enough to blow away any Double Team clones.

    If she tries Digging, you Dig right after her; don't surface until she does.

    Move: Blizzard, Blizzard, Blizzard
    Sub: Dig (as needed), Undig (as needed)

    Two can play at that game.

    Crystal, use Dig. and stay underground. Just don't come up. No way are we going to put ourselves in the path of three Blizzards.

    Crystal, let's end this.

    First, Dig out and come to the surface. If you can attack while doing that, try to.

    Then, use Blizzard twice.

    However, if he decides not to come up, use Pursuit twice instead. Not even burrowing can avoid that.

    AND, if she instead decides to use Double Team, use Shock Wave instead. Then use Blizzard if she's above ground, or Pursuit if she's below.

    Edit: Sorry about the double post.

    Wait for Crystal to surface, and then use Dig combined with Crunch to ram her from below and bite her soft belly. If that's not enough to finish her off, counter her Blizzard with your Thunder.

    Move: Underbite (Dig + Crunch), Thunder

    It's called a 'combo.' People use them in ASB all the time. You didn't say they were illegal in the rules.

    DS, umm I'm gonna overrule your objection for one very important reason.

    In the first round of your Gym Battle against Weasie (which I reffed as well), Weasie used a combo move. You didn't object then . Why should it be different now?

    ...I'm gonna smack this for not posting the battle...I swore this was done already.

    Victor, use Earthquake.

    If that doesn't finish her, use Pursuit until she falls.

    Victor, get the jump on him using Vacuum Wave.

    Then, throw a Mud Bomb.

    Finish up with Poison Jab.

    If he uses Dig, teach him better. Switch to Earthquake, and then use Pursuit twice.

    A rare Fighting Attack that Croagunk can learn via breeding (only Hitmonchan can learn it by leveling up). It has an intensity of 40, accuracy of 100, PP of 30, and always strikes first.
