And the two rivals/battle buddies are at it again. It starts off with the Croconaw known as Alklha rushing in to the slower Numel and chomping down on the fire type’s head (6 DMG @ Krakatoa, 3 ENG @ Alklha). Krakatoa grimaces, and brings up his foot, without so much as a second thought he roughly stomps on Croconaw’s belly and is released (7 DMG @ Alklha, 3 ENG @ Krakatoa).

Both Pokemon shake off the dull aching they feel from the attacks before and attack. Numel summons energy from the earth and blasts poor Croconaw (10 DMG @ Alklha, 2 ENG @ Krakatoa). The water type growls and grabs onto his opponent, and with one *mighty* heave poor Numel is sent fling to the other side of the field (5 DMG @ Krakatoa, 3 ENG @ Alklha).

Ow… Numel thinks, as he slowly gets up, only to have sharp claws laced with ghost energy swiped right across his face (12 DMG CRITICAL HIT @ Krakatoa, 3 ENG @ Alklha). Krakatoa responds defensively, spewing out white and blue embers that seer Croconaw’s flesh (BRN @ Alklha, 2 ENG @ Krakatoa).

Krakatoa begins the round by stomping his foot and summon massive stone pillars around Alklha (8 DMG @ Alklha, 4 ENG @ Krakatoa). But the trap doesn’t work as the water type smashes clean through a pillar using years (not really) of chi mastery (2 ENG @ Alklha).

Numel frowns, and begins to throw a surprising amount of rocks at Croconaw, who retaliates by using the exact same move. The rocks slam into each other and pile up between either opponent, but no one manages to hit the other (3 ENG @ Alklha, 3 ENG @ Krakatoa).

Now Numel charges… Well… No, it looks like ‘attempting-to-charge’ and eventually slams into Alklha, but the water type counters quickly, and throws the poor Numel into the ground as hard as he can (5 DMG @ Alklha, 13 DMG @ Krakatoa, 4 ENG @ Krakatoa, 5 ENG @ Alklka).

Not hesitating a second longer Croconaw grasps Krakatoa and hurls the poor camel into the pile of rocks (8 DMG @ Krakatoa, 4 ENG @ Alklha). Well that doesn’t sit particularly well with the fire type, who gets up and telekinetically begins to hurl the rocks around himself at the opponent (6 DMG @ Alklha, 3 ENG @ Krakatoa).

That… Wasn’t exactly nice, but Croconaw doesn’t seem to care. He begins to dance and allow himself to become enchanted with dragon energy (4 ENG @ Alklha, +1 ATK, +1 SPD @ Alklha, 5% miss @ Krakatoa). Krakatoa doesn’t seem to care much, as he stomps his foot again and pillars identical from before trap Croconaw (8 DMG @ Alklha, 4 ENG @ Krakatoa, TRAPPED @ Alklha).

Alright, this definitely was not part of his plan. Alklha frowns as the walls, and attempts to use dragon energy in his claws to free himself (4 ENG @ Alklha). The pillar cracks a little, but otherwise is fine. Krakatoa decides to howl, though it really comes out sounding more like a moan of despair (3 ENG @ Krakatoa, +1 ATK @ Krakatoa).

So Alklha, being trapped, does what any good survivalist does and begins to look for a way out, but in this case, he makes his own escape route. He digs underground (4 ENG @ Alklha), but Krakatoa, having no way to tell if his opponent is still in the tomb, assumes he is and splits into six (3 ENG @ Krakatoa, CLONES @ Krakatoa).

So Croconaw appears, and immediately splits into copies (3 ENG @ Alklha, CLONES @ Alklha). The Numels blinks, and take their chances by choosing the Croconaw farthest to the left (4 ENG @ Krakatoa), unfortunately that was the wrong Croconaw.

Alklha is amused, and zooms forward with pretty good speed, hitting every clone before slamming to Krakatoa (7 DMG @ Krakatoa, 3 ENG @ Alklha). The Numel frowns, staring at all the clones again he tries for one of the closest ones. The Clones vanish but Croconaw uses his superior speed to roll out of the way and avoid the rock tomb (4 ENG @ Krakatoa).

Croconaw rushes in, ready to slash Krakatoa who responds with flinging rocks at his enemy. Poor Alklha is smacked hard with large pieces of earth (8 DMG @ Alklha, 3 ENG @ Krakatoa). Unfortunately the water type is smacked so hard he flinches and forgets what he was supposed to do…

Alright so that didn’t go as planned, but Alklha intends on making it better. He slams into Numel as hard as he can and knocks the fire type over to makes a resounding *BOOM* as he lands (10 DMG @ Krakatoa, 4 ENG @ Alklha). However, that boom from before was actually Numel being sneaky and using Earthquake. The ground begins to shake and stalagmites pierce through the ground as cracks in the earth begin to appear (14 DMG @ Alklha, 3 ENG @ Krakatoa).

So while Numel’s getting back up, Croconaw decides to throw him. So there goes the fire, now turned flying, type into a stalagmite… Ow (9 DMG @ Krakatoa, 4 ENG @ Croconaw). Numel gets up again, and wants revenge. So somehow, in some way beyond this ref’s imagination Numel moves inexplicably fast and slams Alklha before he can think (13 DMG @ Alklha, 6 ENG @ Krakatoa, 4 DMG @ Krakatoa).

Right. Because Numel moving fast makes sense.

So it’s the last round (maybe?) of another Mew Master versus DarkestLight battle. Croconaw being faster zooms in, slamming into Numel before crunching down as hard as he possible can. Numel cries out, and then desperately tries to get free as the crocodile locks his jaws and does a death roll before throwing his head around in all directions. Poor Krakatoa is battered, bloodied and bruised as the water type releases him (26 DMG @ Krakatoa, 12 ENG @ Alklha).

Alklha looks proud and nudges his unconscious (probably dead) opponent before snorting in victory.

… So this match proves the usefulness of +1 SPD…
