    Default Oslo vs. Dogfish44 (Ref: DL)

    Hooray for my first battle!

    Type: 3 vs. 3
    Rules: Toxic poisoning is disallowed
    Arena: A wide plain with short grass located in the middle of nowhere. A narrow, shallow, zigzagging stream bisects the field. It's a flat expanse--no trees, no bushes, no hills. Nothing.
    Abilities: Active
    DQ Time: One week

    I choose to lead off with Fe, my male Shieldon whose ability is Sturdy. Dogfish44, you may send and then attack first.

    If anyone would graciously step up to ref this match between newbies, it would be greatly appreciated!

    Alright, Fe, try parrying his Thunder Wave and Confuse Ray by Taunting him. Next, kick up a Sandstorm and, though he's out of reach, you should be able to nail your target with a Thunder.

    ===Round 1===

    Ahh, a day to relax. Its not often I do such things, you know. But..I don't think my relaxation time is quite warranted. Because..I see two newcomers to ASB walking up to me. Damn me and my flashy reffness. It brings all the boys to the yard.

    Seeing my apparent interest, they rejoice and begin to duke it out...right..here..in my sanctuary u_u. Fine. Oslo releases Fe, a Shieldon...ooh Shiledon... To counter a Grumpig bounces out next to DF. Grumpig starts off by flinging a nice little wave of electricity Fe's way. Fe mouths off though, saying that Aeropig got his name because his mother cut back on his rations so she could eat them.

    Nonetheless, I think that Thunderwave was warranted. Aeropig looks quite upset over that.

    Aero: -2E Tnt===//=== Fe: -2E

    Now ticked off, Aero bounds over and tackles Fe. Fe doesn't mind the extra hit so much, as he commands a Sandstorm to rip...about..the...area. Sand must be popular these days. .

    Aero: -2E ===//=== Fe: -4E/-2H
    SS: 3 rds

    Wow, this swine was searing. Aeropig launched himself skyward using that tailspring of his. Fe just watched, and then chortled. Have you ever heard a Sheldon chortle? The hell is that?!?! Anyway...being higher up, Fe 's Thunder now had more of a chance to hit. And it did!

    The sweet smell of back suddenly wafted through the air, and then was followed by Aero's charred carcass crashing onto the ground. Well played, Fe.

    Good call, but aeropig is a Spoink. Not a grumpypig.
    Anyway, Let me see what I can do.
    Aeropig, use bounce into the air, then whislt you are in the air, use Charge Beam.
    Finish of by landing via Fe's large head.

    ===Round 2===

    Aero, still pissed, decides to get vertical again. Even though he went to touch the sky, he still heard that Screech, as it traveled up to him. It wasn't nearly as loud so he didn't feel nearly as threatened.

    Aero: -3E ===//=== Fe: -2E

    Reaching his apex, Aero pointed the sphere on his head and fired off a wave of electric energy. It coalesced into a beam and struck paydirt, striking down Fe. There was a wave of energy coming over the Spoink as it came careening from its bounce.

    Being so high up, Fe just looked. The Charge Beam hit, but that Pig was nowhere in the vicinity. So....why do that Earthquake? No really, he was paralyzed.

    Aero: -5E +SpA ===//=== Fe: o.O -6H

    There we go. Spoink was now coming closer to the ground. And SLAMM, He bounced right atop of Fe. Fe didn't seem to bothered by the hit, his build is something extraordinary. As Aero landed on his side-hurt more from that attack than Fe, Fe smothered the pained pig with a deluge of rocks using ancient arcane magicks.

    Oh crap...that made Fe feel good.

    SPOINK! NOT A GRUMPYPIG! Sort out the last section out (^.^;
    And my luck would have ancient power boost. I can feel the pain already. owowowow.
    Anyway, let us try to sort things out.

    Use Psychic to hold Fe in midair above the stream there. Shake it around a bit, as nausea is always good.
    Follow up with an Iron tail, use it on Fe's head.
    Finish up using bounce on Fe's shield to get a fair distance away, and release Psychic to let Fe fall into the water, boosted to the water by bounce.

    Uh-oh, Fe, looks like that swine is getting a bit aggressive! No worries, though. Score another AncientPower while Aeropig is trying to shake things up. Next, counter that Iron Tail of his with a Metal Burst. Finally, finish things off with a Blizzard. Hopefully, you'll be able to freeze that stream so you don't get soaked while at the same time giving your foe the cold shoulder. (Zing!)

    ===Round 3===

    Knowing the stakes were high, Aeropig tries to get a lead on the match again. Fe watches as Aeropig grabs him with a mental maneuver, and holds him over the water. The strain is kinda great-since Fe is a pretty heavy lil Shieldon.

    Doesn't help that a battalion of rocks come flying to slap Aero in the face. Well..Fe wished it worked. Paralysis took hold again.

    Aero: -7E ===//=== Fe:

    Glad he was hindering the metal beast, Aero bounded over to Fe and smiled before bouncing up and slamming his Tail in Fe's face. Fe didn't HAVE to move this time though, as the energy from such a hit was taken in, and released as a blast from his mouth!

    Aeropig freaked as he was struck by the blast, and his psychic grip weakened severely. Fe dropped quite low, and as such he leaned toward land. So ...close..

    Aero: -7E/-12H ===//=== Fe: o.O -6E/-8H

    Fe stared at the closeness of the stream, and winced when he saw that pig rise up again. It lunged for him, and that ugly little tail curled around his shield, before springing off. Jus then, the Psychic grasp dropped and Fe went headfirst into the stream. The impact was boosted by Bounce, but it still didnt have any real effect.

    Instead, Fe would climb out the water, and look up at that wanna be flying pig. Since he was so high up, didn't make sense not to send a Blizzard his way! Aero let out a high pitched oink of fear and anger as the icy blast flew up into the colder layers of the sky and bit at him mercilessly.

    Aero: -3E/-12H ===//=== Fe: -9E/-3H

    The Sandstorm ripped mercilessly (3) before ending. Damn that Fe!!!

    Nicely done there, Fe! Begin with Swagger this time. Next, we'll see how your Iron Head does against him and, finally, end the round by overcoming him with a solid Rock Tomb.

    And, if at any point during the final two turns the piggy is out of reach due to Bounce, sub with a Thunder.

    DL is being sarcastic. He is trolling me in PM as well. Fine, call it grumpypig. I am very grumpy right now.

    ===Round 4===

    Still up in the air, Aeropig hears his master say something, but he hasn't quite come down yet.. As such , it makes it hard for him to see Fe other than that little ceratopsian is walking around kinda funny. So, he just rode out the winds of descent and crashed into Fe.

    Aero: -4E ===//=== Fe: -3E/-3H

    Happy to be on the ground again, Aero looked over at the approaching iron tank and jumped to avoid the head-on charge. Fe turned around and went to attack again, but he ran through Aero? Oh jeez, 4 piggies left, now what's a trike to do?

    Aero: -3E +3 cl.===//=== Fe: -8E

    This round is a bit daffy, really. Aero doesn't mind the flukes coming his way, and appreciates it even more when Fe stumbles over his own feet in paralysis. This allows the oinker to liberally coat Fe with a dash of arctic flavoring. It chills the steel type to his rocky core...

    ===Round 6===

    Fe is really tired of paralysis and tries to take charge of his own life currently. He feels his feet and thunderers forth with new life, heading for Aeropig. Aero uses his stronger Psychic ability in a defensive manner, raising the earth in front of him like a wall.

    A wall that Fe bursts through with surprising strength! Aero freaked, not expecting THAT to occur

    Aero: -6E ===//=== Fe: -8E

    Fe didn't mind missing his target, that column would have sucked to been stuck in. Looking down Aero fired off a Confuse Ray, just as Fe fired up a smaller platoon of Rocks. The Rocks knocked Aero into his own pillar, and then piled atop of him, but the Confuse Ray worked.

    Fe walked in a circle, confused.

    Aero: -3E/-7H ===//=== Fe: -4E

    Aero dug out of the tomb pretty fast, seeing as his own earth pillar had a gaping hole in the side. Gauging that Fe was not really focused on him, he left a Shock Wave out that flipped Fe onto his back. Fe...giggled, pleased with being upside down. Weirdo.

    ===Round 7===

    Fe looked around quietly, but his target was nowhere to be seen. That's because Aeropig has bounced behind the pillar he created out of the land and jumped top of it. Springing off of that, he gain good elevation to charge up and fire a smaller bolt of Electricity. The aim was true and Fe was struck. A feel good aura washed over his back-this was good!

    Fe fell over, confused by what hit him. But common sense seemed to be creeping back toward Fe's mind..

    Aero: -5E +SpA===//=== Fe: -9H

    Aero pig landed, and as his tail touched the ground, a second electric attack went out. It encircled Fe before zapping him on all sides in a circle. This circle however, then turned white, and was repelled in reverse. Aero freaked out as the Steel attack rammed him pretty hard.

    Sitting up, Aero looked at Fe...and figured this wasn't going to end well if THAT kept up.

    Aero: -4E/-13H ===//=== Fe: -6E/-9H

    Fe, free of confusion, and not feeling paralyzed, waited for the next Shockwave to come. Aero did it with no strings attached, and was attacked by that same reverse white lightning! Fe sneered, glad for one Paralysis hit EARLY!

    Aeropig feels weak, but that can't be seen to the untrained eye. Tht little bacon bit hops up and glares Fe down. Fe stomps a few times, and a assortment of rocks come barreling toward Aeropig. Fearlessly, Aeropig pushes his mental limits to the max-and forces those rocks to not only stop-but to return to sender!

    Fe is impressed, at both the barrage that comes his way and the Psychic wave that strikes him -being the force that blew his rocks back.

    Aero: -8E ===//=== Fe: -5E/-11H

    Not losing any ground here, Aeropig was quick to fire one of those souped up Shockwave's at Fe, trying to induce that paralysis. Unfortunatly, that was not the case. Fe smirked as the electricity ravaged his body a bit, before launching his own Shockwave at Aeropig. Who knew?

    Aero did now, as he fell over in a mountain of pain.

    ===Round 10===

    The tank removed, DF now looks to sweep through the rest of the competition. Oslo quickly unleashed his next competitor, a small radish looking Pokemon. She took a moment to take in the surrounding, and then spied Venn floating around being all ghost like.

    Skipping over, her stalks began to emit a creepy powder. Unaoppreciative of being covered in said powder, Venn was quick to delibratly reate a veil that not only hampered the effect of the Stun Spore, but bounced it right back at Nutri. Nutri stared in confusion as the spores encased her body.

    Venn: -6E ===//=== NG: -3E Par

    Displeased, but too too hindered by her own spores right now, Oddish began to skip and jump around. Her actions allowed the rays of Helios to grace this bleak boat graveyard. Shrieking behind some boat carcasses, Venn stared as Oddish seemed to gain even more mobility.

    But that was fine, as he began spewing incantations and secretly placed a Curse on her. He even went so far as to stab himself on a discarded piece of wood!...Man, blood pacts are scary when ghosts do them...

    Venn: -7E/-25H ===//=== NG: -4E Crs..
    SD: 3 rds

    The paralysis still wasn't kicking in, and Venn stared at this development. He knew paitence was the key here, but its always hard to be patient when a full power souped up Solarbeam is screeching your way. The wood planks were annihilated and Venn was stuck taking full damage from that beam. He landed face first on the small island, the water lapping at his little wanna be sockpuppet body.

    Rising back up, he made eye contact with Nutri. This was exactly what he wanted. A thin link was instantly made, and it started to grow in size with his concentration. Nutri freaked out as her health began to be ripped from her very body.

    But then it stopped. Something was blocking Venn from completing his own move. Could it be his own incantation that blocked him from healing himself in any way?

    Two (probably stupid and poorly thought out) questions:

    Was Curse supposed to do 25 damage to Venn while dealing 25 damage to Nutrigrow? In the games it's 50% to the user and 25% to the victim, but I get that we're not exactly playing Emerald here, so I'll understand if 25/25 is simply how you ref it. Just checking.

    Also, will Curse deal 25 damage each round or 25% of Nutrigrow's current health (so next round, it would do 19 or something like that)? I totally forget how Curse damage is calculated. Pesky ghost types.

    Thank goodness for that healing rule, though. *phew*

    No prob Oslo. When I saw the moves listed I was like "Uh oh crap, trickyness abounds!"

    1) Yes. In ASB, its a maximum of 25 HP taken off of the user and the victim. That gives the user a bit more leeway than the games, but the healing rule still takes effect.

    2) Yes, unfortunately. 25 HP will be ripped from you each round. The amount taken away is the amount that the Curser used in order to establish Curse.

    There are no stupid questions.

    Nutriglow beamed in the sunlight and stared over at Venn. Venn floated around quietly and began to draw in a negative energy flow, the sky darkening-almost heeding to his wishes, Storm clouds brewed over them all, and soon the rain began to fall. Solar Bomb hmmmm?
    Let us see what we can do.
    Shadow Sneak out of the way of the incoming solar beam. and then behind it.
    Follow up with a Skill Swap. I don't wanna know how this one will work.
    Now its speed has significantly lowered, use your Ominous Wind.
    If solar bomb is used turn 2/3, move shadow sneak there. Then move Skill Swap and Ominous wind to be in the same order.
    Shadow Sneak ~ Skill Swap ~ Ominous Wind

    ===Round 12===

    Nutrigrow knew that this was now or never, and he couldn't afford to miss. Venn watched with baited breath as seeds began to float around Nutrigrow. The little Oddish was expanding alot of energy rapidly, flashing white hot at increasingly small intervals until he was literally a brimming field of light. While he was concentrating so hard, Venn decided to strike quickly, a light tap at best.

    Venn: -4E ===//=== NG: *crg* -6H

    Nutriglow started to return to his natural shades of green and blue. Venn watched as the seeds began to be aimed toward him, before they formed into a sphere all their own. It was like Nutri was creating a Sun, and was ready to lob it at Venn.

    Venn watched, snickering and streaked over, to try and tag Nutri as the sphere passed while getting behind the planimal. That....didn't work out so well. Venn succeeded in getting past the orb and hitting Nutri. Nutri cried out in anger as all that energy went scorching across this arena, before flying up into the heavens.

    Venn: -4E ===//=== NG: -25E/-6H

    Now Venn decided it was time to swap those abilities of theirs. A mental link unafflicted by any means of combat was established, and Nutri felt alot slower...and alot more jittery. Venn meanwhile..was instantly energized by the warm rays..

    Venn: -9E ===//=== NG: >O!!!
    Abilities Swapped

    Nutri fell over just then, the Curse working to full effect. Yikes (25)
