I recommend adding Media Player Classic to audio as well.

Also, for audio-editing, Audacity is a very powerful, easy application to use. Perfect for beginners and experts alike. (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)

I also recommend adding Conversion and Virtual Drive categories. Zamzar is a brilliant conversion utility that doesn't even require any download or software, and Virtual CloneDrive is also a good virtual drive. Google them if you want.

I've been using Trillian as my IM program. Great if you have multiple chat accounts (AIM, Yahoo, etc.) and want to access them all from the same program.

I've been using version 3 and didn't realize it was out of date until I looked up the site to post the link here. Time to check out the new version...

Thanks for this, it might do my shitty laptop some good to add some useful system and firewall applications. Peace cuz's x

EDIT: Does anyone know an application where I can block certain applications/sites for a certain amount of hours to curb my procrastination? I am too lazy to Google.

Video players: MPlayer is one of the best you can find for UNIX systems (Linux, Mac, BSD,...)

IRC client: ChatZilla - available for every popular OS.

Video editing and conversion: LinCoder* - available for every popular OS.

*I've contributed to this one, but it's still a free, useful program so I think it can be listed here.

I would say.... Expansions for Applications, or something to that effect or maybe App. Customizations

'cause while you're not modifying the code, you are adding something extra to the app

Personally, I use JkDefrag instead of the standard defragmenting tool for Vista.
Everyone who is into graphs during defragmenting should be pleased with this tool.

If you don't have it add VirtualBox at www.virtualbox.org

Emulation category. Definitely better than VMWare or Microsoft Virtual Machine.

FTP Manager Lite is a better freeware FTP and SFTP client software. The clean interface is super easy to use. It will perform your files transfers quickly and efficiently. It is one of the best freeware FTP clients that also supports FXP.

If that program he advertised contains malware, then it's definitely not worth showing off here.

Which reminds me, if anyone posts in this topic in the future with a new program, they should double check it to make sure it's 100% safe to use.

But it was free, and possibly useful malware. I know every now and then I like for my personal details to be shared generously among many people.
