This battle is taking place in the Thunder Dome. With a decent crowd here, this battle could be quite the spectacle for them to see. Soon, the first trainer walks in. Revealing herself as Ayeun, she takes out a Pokeball, and opens it up to reveal a male Swablu by the name of Budgie Smuggler. Within a few moments later, the second trainer appears. Answering to Ayeun's challenge, the trainer reveals herself as Asilynne, and she takes out a Pokeball of her own. Opening it up, she reveals the Pokemon that was requested for this battle, a different turn of events nonetheless, but the Pokemon that comes out is a male Ekans named Trouser Snake who accepts his opponent's challenge. I soon make my way inside the arena to be the ref, and the battle commences. Budgie Smuggler starts off the battle on the defensive end, throwing up a Safeguard. The protective veil of light does its job as Trouser Snake attempts to land a Toxic on Budgie Smuggler, watching in utter disappointment as the venomous purple glob is nullified by the Safeguard on Budgie Smuggler.

Unhappy that his attempt to poison Budgie Smuggler didn't work, Trouser Snake moves on, spitting up an unusual acid that seeps into Budgie Smuggler's skin. Though Budgie Smuggler notices this acid's lack of pain caused to him, the Swablu still feels something just isn't right, as if he lost...something. Nonetheless, Budgie Smuggler shakes off his pondering predicament, and begins to sing a lullaby, which catches Trouser Snake off guard, and causes the Ekans to fall asleep.

As Trouser Snake dozes in his slumber, unable to do anything for the moment, Budgie Smuggler smirks to himself, glad to have the Ekans under the induced sleep. Wasting no time, the Swablu flies over to Trouser Snake, pulling out a straw-like, ethereal feeding tube that he puts into Trouser Snake's sleeping form, eating the Ekans' dream while making him feel discomfort, and he soon begins to twist around, leaving behind a layer of skin as he wakes up, much to Budgie Smuggler's unexpected surprise.

The battle resumes as Budgie Smuggler, still wondering exactly what is "missing", manages to shrug it off and begin to fly around, as a result of using Agility. As the speedy cloud bird flies around, Trouser Snake goes for a well-timed Rock Tomb. Concentrating hard, the Ekans causes some rocks to burst out of the ground and close in around Budgie Smuggler, trapping him inside while causing his recently boosted speed to suffer a small drop, making the net gain of speed not as much as he would have hoped.

Trouser Snake: -6 Energy

Finding himself literally between a rock and a hard place, Budgie Smuggler struggles frantically to get himself out of his rocky prison. He does eventually break free, but not without giving up a fair bit of energy in the process. Trouser Snake though, begins to eye Budgie Smuggler carefully. As Budgie Smuggler tries to breathe out a Heat Wave, Trouser Snake brings a mental grasp onto Budgie Smuggler, making the Swablu unable to do anything as he cries in frustration.

Trouser Snake: -6 Energy

Not liking how difficult things have been getting for him, Budgie Smuggler begins to glow with Dragon energy as he flies toward Trouser Snake, catching the Ekans off guard with a Dragon Rush that causes the Ekans to hiss in pain. But, he is able to retaliate with a Rock Slide, and the rocks soon connect with and batter Budgie Smuggler, causing him to cry out in pain at hating rocks of any size.

The battle is resumed as Trouser Snake decides to show Budgie Smuggler his frightening side. As he flashes his Scary Face at Budgie Smuggler, the Swablu shudders as his speed suffers again. But nonetheless, the cloud bird Pokemon isn't about to let the Scary Face get the better of him, and he uses a Dragon Pulse on Trouser Snake, blasting the Ekans with a brilliant wave of draconic energy which causes Trouser Snake's frightening face to change to one showing pain, as he hisses in discomfort from the strong blast.

Trouser Snake: -8 Health, -5 Energy

Reeling a little from that Dragon Pulse, Trouser Snake fires back with another Rock Slide, bringing onto Budgie Smuggler another avalanche of rocks that bruise his fragile body even more. But despite all the pain, the Swablu is still able to get off a retaliating Mirror Move, as a few rocks of similar sizes as the ones that hit him a couple of moments ago land on Trouser Snake, causing the Ekans to hiss in pain.

Painfully slithering his way out of the rocky jam he had been put into, Trouser Snake's fangs begin to glow green, and he uses a Giga Drain on Budgie Smuggler, causing the Swablu to cry in pain as a bit of his health is sucked away by the cunning Ekans. But, Budgie Smuggler isn't about to let the snake Pokemon off easy, as he kicks up some dirt that is thrown in Trouser Snake's eyes, making the Ekans hiss in discomfort as he finds his vision getting hampered as a result.

The battle continues as Budgie Smuggler goes for a Tailwind, carefully studying the air currents around him. Within a few moments after his Agility boost from earlier began to fade away, a good breeze of air catches in his wings, helping him to be able to fly around faster than before. Trouser Snake however, pays no attention to Budgie Smuggler's air "surfing" as he uses Rest, flattening himself on the ground as he begins to regain some health and energy in his self-induced slumber.

Flying closer to Trouser Snake, Budgie Smuggler begins to sing an enchanting lullaby...only to realize that it isn't working due to the Ekans already being asleep. Meanwhile, Trouser Snake begins to mumble something in his sleep. Temporarily raising himself up close to Budgie Smuggler's level, Trouser Snake whips himself around slightly, slamming his tail on top of Budgie Smuggler, causing the Swablu to cry in pain from the surprise hit. It isn't long, before some mud begins to fall away from Trouser Snake's face as he lowers himself back to the ground.

Still a bit surprised that his opponent couldn't hear his Sing attempt from earlier, Trouser Snake goes on the attack this time around, bringing back that ethereal feeding tube he used earlier, and once again, the Swablu uses another Dream Eater on Trouser Snake, making the Ekans feel the discomfort as his favourite dream, possibly of a bird dinner, is eaten by Budgie Smuggler. However, the loss of his favourite dream doesn't stop Trouser Snake from mumbling in his sleep again; this time as he thinks about swallowing something. But for some strange reason, the Ekans' attempt isn't successful. However, once again, Trouser Snake manages to wriggle himself out of his current layer of skin, leaving it behind as he soon begins to stir, opening his eyes and slowly looking around...

Once again though, Budgie Smuggler tries his Sing technique, only to realize his song is being ignored by the sleeping Trouser Snake...again.

At that point, Trouser Snake suddenly begins to stir, shedding another layer of skin as he leaves it behind, his eyes slowly opening in the process. Budgie Smuggler's Safeguard fades mere moments later.

It's not that big of a deal, Ayeun, although sometimes refs add a move to the banned move list if either of the battlers forgot to have it banned (or weren't thinking of making it banned for that battle), for example, when I battled you, remember? DarkestLight had added Perish Song to the list of moves that we had banned for that battle.

I don't think you see refs wanting to add a move to the list of any other banned moves in a battle too often, though, it seems to be much less common for refs to do that, rather than the battlers.

Continuing to relax as was requested of him, Budgie Smuggler does his best to allow more energy to come back to him, but Trouser Snake goes on the attack, coughing up something a little similar to before, but not much less poisonous as a Gunk Shot goes sailing through the air, landing on Budgie Smuggler and causing him to cry in pain as it stings his skin.

With his opponent still relaxing away, Trouser Snake wastes no time in bringing down another Rock Slide on Budgie Smuggler, as the rocks leave their painful mark on Budgie Smuggler. He soon coughs and winces, as the poison in his system takes off a small portion of his health. The breeze around the arena soon begins to die down as well.

The battle continues as Trouser Snake prepares to strike Budgie Smuggler with an Aqua Tail. As the Ekans' tail begins to get a light blue glow with a small whirlpool around it, he swings his tail around to hit Budgie Smuggler, causing the Swablu to cry in pain as he gets slightly waterlogged as a result. Not liking that he got wet from that assault, Trouser Snake retaliates back, letting his wings harden and glow with a silver glint before striking Trouser Snake hard with a Steel Wing.

Reeling after that painful hit, Trouser Snake decides to go for a steely assault of his own. Using his tail once again, it hardens and begins to glow with a silver glint before it strikes Budgie Smuggler, causing the Swablu to cry in pain. Getting really upset with his reptilian adversary, Budgie Smuggler takes out his Frustration on Trouser Snake, roughing up the snake Pokemon up pretty hard, but feeling calmer as a result afterward.

Still feeling the pain from the harsh punishment he just went through, Trouser Snake sets his sights on Budgie Smuggler again, coughing up another Gunk Shot of which he hopes will hit Budgie Smuggler. But the Swablu, not wanting his poisoning to get worsened, quickly takes up to the sky, flying out of the range of the Gunk Shot on the nick of time. Budgie Smuggler still winces in flight, as the poison already in his system takes its toll on him once again.
