Hades takes a look at his new opponent and barely bats an eye as he yawns, prompting Femme to do the same, making her more and more tired [ +25% Tir FemmeFetal / -2PP Hades ]. The girl ignores it for a moment before lifting up the heated hog and slamming him onto the ground viciously [ -9HP Hades / -6PP FemmeFetal ].

Hades, none too pleased, waits for Femme to make her move. But alas, that move never comes before she ends up falling asleep [ +100% Slp FemmeFetal ]. With no cue to take, Hades blitzes toward the snoozing pile of goo and tackles her nicely [ -5HP FemmeFetal / -3PP, +10% Spd Hades ].

As the solosis continues to snooze [ +6PP FemmeFetal ], Hades darts in swiftly and pounces her jelly-like body, feeding on her previous damage [ -10HP FemmeFetal / -5PP Hades ].

Heated hog takes his time; his opponent is asleep soundly, so he figures he has plenty of opportunity to prepare. He sacrifices his speed to increase his girth [ +10% Atk, +10% Def, -10% Spd, -5PP Hades ]. He is thankful for that Femme's next attack relied on his stronger defenses to cause damage [ -7HP Hades ].

Feeling satisfied that the damage against him was lessened, Hades once more tackles his adversary -- using his satisfaction as a fuel -- he strikes!, but awakens the psychic pokemon in the process [ -8HP FemmeFetal / -5PP Hades ]. Femme shakes off the groggy feeling before snapping at Hades, keeping him in place with a weak jolt of paralyzing electricity [ +25% Par Hades / -5PP FemmeFetal ].

With his speed greatly handicapped, Hades is forced to endure Femme's powerful and grim shadow ball [ -8HP Hades / -5PP FemmeFetal ]. Hades takes the hit, fights the paralysis, and then pounces upon Femme once more [ -11HP FemmeFetal / -5PP Hades ].

Femme closes her eyes and surrounds herself in a protective veil -- she doesn't want anymore nasty sleep this time -- not from her opponent, no no [ -5PP FemmeFetal / Safeguard activated ]. The tepig, however, doesn't seem bothered by this advancement and instead charges as quickly as he can at her with an aura of fire engulfing his tiny frame. Pow!, he tackles the psychic fetus with everything he's got [ -6HP FemmeFetal / -2PP, +10% Spd Hades ].

He's slightly faster by it, but the paralysis still greatly hinders his movements. Femme lets loose a powerful shadow ball that explodes on contact, sending the fiery pig to the floor quite easily [ -8HP Hades / -6PP FemmeFetal ]. Hades merely pulls himself back together and charges into Femme with an electric current flowing through his veins [ -10HP FemmeFetal / -5PP, -3HP Hades ].

FemmeFetal is quite displeased with this electricity, and lets Hades have it with a mental assault. The pig flies once more [ -8HP, -10% SpD Hades / -5PP FemmeFetal ]. Hades is tempered, but keeps his revenge ice cold. With the slowness of his frame, Hades surrounds himself in an iron ball. He curls up and rolls slowly, gathering enough momentum to do heavy damage to the psychic fetus [ -11HP FemmeFetal / -6PP Hades ].

As we enter round 20 of this glorious battle between gym leaders, FemmeFetal unleashes a barrage of stones from all around. She hopes for a flinch that never comes [ -10HP Hades / -5PP FemmeFetal ]... but the tepig can't move anyway thanks to his crippling paralysis.

Fetal smirks, having dealt some nice damage to her opponent, and begins closing her eyes. Within seconds, she feels herself getting stronger and bulkier -- but it also comes at a heavy price [ +10% Atk, Def, Spd, -10% SpD, -8PP FemmeFetal ]. Hades, however, tackles her once more with his flamey hide [ -6HP FemmeFetal / -2PP, +10% Spd Hades ].

Having enough of this fiery pig's nonsense, Fetal hovers next to him and gives him a weak slap [ -3HP Hades / -2PP FemmeFetal ]. It isn't shocking enough to flinch, but his muscles flat-out refuse to move.

Femme begins the round by calming her mind, but 86s that plan as soon as she sees that porky tepig mouthing off to her [ FemmeFetal Taunted -- 3 actions / -2PP Hades ]. Immediately she charges toward the fire pokemon with the speed of a turtle. A supposedly strong turtle. Unfortunately, with Hades' own speed cut, Femme's attack is merely brushed off quite sadly [ -4HP Hades / -4PP FemmeFetal ].

Fetal switches gears and resorts to a mental assault. Hades winces in pain as the psychic attack rattles his mind [ -9HP Hades / -5PP FemmeFetal ], but he retalliates as soon as he can with a Blaze-powered flamethrower [ -14HP FemmeFetal / -5PP Hades ].

The third act goes similar to the first, but switch out Fetal's psychic with Fetal's shadow ball [ -9HP, -10% SpD, -5PP Hades / -14HP, -6PP FemmeFetal ].

Femme begins 22 with a fierce combination of psychic and shadow ball -- psychic to pin the tepig down, and shadow ball to... shadow ball. The combined hits are enough to bring the pig down quite easily [ -10HP + -9HP Hades / -11PP FemmeFetal ].

Upon seeing her new opponent, the psychic fetus springs immediately into action by firing off an ethereal tether. However, Snivly is ready for such a nasty attack, and swiftly responds with a barrier of protection that destroys the tether, and curses Femme in the process [ -5PP, FemmeFetal Tormented / -11PP Snivly ].

Femme tries again to throw the tether, but something has locked her mind from being able to successfully pull off the attack again. She tries and she tries for a few minutes before her mind finally opens back up and she flings it wildly at Snivly. The grass snake once again responds with another protection spell [ -5PP FemmeFetal / -7PP Snivly ].

Snivly is swift, creating a powerful tornado of nature that engulfs Fetal [ -7HP FemmeFetal / -3PP Snivly ], who responds by surrounding the snake with several illusions. They all stare at Snivly, confusing him quite easily [ +25% Con Snivly / +75% Eva, -15PP FemmeFetal ].

Femme eagerly rests up [ +5PP FemmeFetal ] as Snivly attempts to strike her with a vine whip. It hits a clone [ -9% Eva FemmeFetal / -3PP Snivly ]. The snake, at this point, is quite frustrated, and leaps at one of the other Femmes blindly, but the psychic pokemon flashes a bright white before exploding, sending Snivly flying to the floor [ -14HP Snivly / -ALL HP/PP FemmeFetal ]. Snivly hits the ground with quite a headache. But at least his confusion's gone...

With creepy psychic fetus out of the battle, Darkly has to rely on another pokemon to challenge Den. He chooses yet another underdeveloped teammate: Shatterstar, a shy-looking snorunt. Star peers out from underneath her unorthodox teepee hood and begins singing a soothing song [ -2PP Shatterstar ]. As the song slowly crawls through the arena, Snivly plugs his ears with the most powerful noise-canceling headphones he can find, and the melody goes unheard [ -5PP Snivly ].

Upset that her debut single fell off the charts so quickly, Star charges over to Snivly as fast as she can. Unfortunately, her stubby little legs make "as fast as she can" equal out to be "as fast as your grandpa walks when he's at the supermarket looking for oranges". Snivly anticipates the headbutt and absorbs it in his tiny frame [ -7HP Snivly / -5PP Shatterstar ], before wrapping said frame all around the small ice pokemon and constricting harshly. The damage is nothing less than great [ -15HP Shatterstar / -13PP Snivly ].

After a few seconds of choking, Star is finally released and Snivly retreats to his corner of the arena. Shatterstar does the same before sending off a trembling brush of chilly winds to brush up against Snivly [ -8HP, -10% Spd Snivly / -3PP Shatterstar ]. Snivly, however, has also been anticipating this move as his scales begin shining nicely. His mirror coat absorbs the ice before reflecting it back with heightened power [ -11HP Shatterstar / -6PP Snivly ].

Things are looking pretty grimdark for Shatterstar, who just entered the battle a round ago and is already on the same level as her opponent, Snivly. As the slithery serpent erects a special safeguard [ -5PP Snivly, Safeguard activated ], Star does something to keep herself protected as well [ -6PP, +75% Eva Shatterstar ] -- surrounding Snivly with three duplicates.

Snivly sees right through that illusion, though, and hits his opponent with three seeds [ +3% Lch, -75% Eva Shatterstar / -5PP Snivly ]. Star begins to fume and retaliates with a nasty ice beam that would've frozen the snake to the arena floor [ -14HP Snivly / -7PP Shatterstar ] had it not've been for that safeguard.

Cold and unamused, Snivly spits out a nasty acid that sticks to Star's teepee hoodie, making her ability unusable [ @Ice Body Shatterstar / -5PP Snivly ]. The ice pokemon doesn't seem to mind it though, and merely fires back with her nasty, dark-aligned fangs [ -8HP, +1HP Snivly / -6PP, -1HP Shatterstar ].
