The manectric and ivysaur combo align themselves in front of the luft balloon before singing a harsh tune that knocks her off her feet quitely [ -7HP + -9HP Lilac / -4PP Sparkle Motion / -5PP Veggies ]. Jasper, meanwhile, strikes at Sparkle with a powerful rock slide [ -7HP Sparkle Motion / -5PP Jasper ]. Lilac, meanwhile, fires off one last fire blast at Veggies, dealing unquantifiable damage [ -18HP Veggies / -10PP Lilac ].

Sparkle ends Lilac's battle by hitting her with another song [ -9HP Lilac / -6PP Sparkle Motion ] as Veggies, charred and burned, seeds the mole [ +3% Lch Jasper / -3PP Veggies ]. Jasper shakes off the feeling of uneasiness and strikes Sparkle with another earth power [ -14HP Sparkle Motion / -4PP, -1HP Jasper / +1HP Veggies ].

Sparkle Motion lets loose with a wild batch of toxic sludge that just bounces off Jasper's safeguard [ -5PP Sparkle Motion ]. The mole cackles wildly before jabbing Sparkle with his own venom [ -8HP Sparkle Motion / -6PP, -1HP Jasper / +1HP Veggies ]. Veggies, now free of the threat of fire, decides to regain some much-needed health by slapping Jasper with his vines and sapping away his health [ -11HP Jasper / -4PP, +5HP Veggies ].

Round 8
Zircon joins his ally as the Noctowl Float nears its end. Jasper begins by multiplying his appearance, summoning three clones to absorb hits for him [ +75% Eva, -6PP Jasper ] as Veggies wipes one out quickly [ -9% Eva Jasper / -3PP Veggies ]. Sparkle Motion, already feeling weak, fires off a flamethrower at the newbie that ultimately misses thanks to the bug's astounding agility [ -7PP Sparkle Motion / +20% Spd, -5PP Zircon ].

Zircon, with his new sense of speed, immediately begins giving Veggies hell by sending a shivering buzzing sound down the plant's spine [ -14HP Veggies / -6PP Zircon ] while Jasper tackles Sparkle Motion off the float, knocking him out easily [ -17HP Sparkle Motion / -15PP Jasper ]. Veggies handles the pain and wraps his vines around the real Jasper, absorbing away his health quite easily and destroying his other clones [ -11HP, -66% Eva Jasper / -4PP, +5HP Veggies ] in the process.

Jasper takes a moment to breathe [ +10PP Jasper ] while Zircon flashes Veggies with a powerful ray of bug energy [ -11HP Veggies / -4PP Zircon ]. Veggies, in turn, strikes at Jasper with another giga drain [ -11HP Jasper / -4PP, +5HP Veggies ].

Sparkle Motion (wherever he is) is recalled as the remaining three pokémon leap for the next float -- Kingdra.

Calories is the next up in Oslo's repertoire, and she looks delicious. She increases her deliciousness factor marvelously by strengthening her defenses [ +20% Def, -5PP Calories ] as Zircon hits her with an acid that nullifies her unique ability [ -5PP Zircon / @Ice Body Calories ]. Veggies, meanwhile, erects a reflective barrier [ -5PP Veggies / Reflect activated ] just in time for Jasper to slash him with an bug-based slice [ -6HP Veggies / -6PP Jasper ].

The always adorable Zircon begins act two with a dazzling display of a signal beam that crosses through Veggies' barrier and hits him for nice damage [ -11HP Veggies / -4PP Zircon ]. The ivysaur doesn't take the hit lightly, and instead responds by putting Zircon to sleep with his spores [ +100% Slp Zircon / -3PP Veggies ]. Cal and Jasper, meanwhile, eye one another down as Cal blasts the shrew with a fierce blizzard spell [ -18HP Jasper / -8PP Calories ] and Jasper comes at her with a weakened stone edge [ -5HP Calories / -8PP Jasper ].

Zircon continues to snooze [ +10PP Zircon ] as Cal splashes him with a float-empowered water pulse [ -9HP Zircon / -4PP Calories ]. Jasper strikes the ice cream cone with his iron tail [ -5HP Calories / -8PP Jasper ] as Veggies siphons away even more of Jasper's health [ -11HP Jasper / -4PP, +6HP Veggies ].

And again [ -3HP Jasper / +3HP Veggies ].

Jasper begins round ten by summoning a nasty sandstorm to overtake the floats [ -7PP Jasper / Sandstorm activated ]. This causes some needless frustration among the other three pokémon as they ready their own attacks -- Cal's blizzard brushes against the shrew, causing incredible damage [ -18HP Jasper / -8PP, -1HP Calories ], while Veggies finishes him off with another giga drain [ -2HP Jasper / +1HP, -4PP, -1HP Veggies ]. Zircon is the last to act, annoying Veggies to the point of attack [ -1HP Zircon / +20% Atk, +25% Con Veggies ].

Veggies, in a rage, drives toward the snoozing Zircon and tackles him harshly, nearly taking them both off the float in his anger [ -14HP Zircon / -8PP, -5HP, -1HP Veggies ]. Zircon wakes up in a daze before retalliating with a terrible buzzing sound [ -14HP Veggies / -6PP, -1HP Zircon ]. Cal is the last to act, striking with a mirror shot -- an attack that Zircon just shrugs off [ -4HP Zircon / -4PP, -1HP Calories ].

And you know what? We liked the last round so much that we just had to do it again in super slo-mo [ -14HP, -4HP, -6PP, -1HP Zircon / -6HP, -8PP Veggies / -4PP, -1HP Calories ]. Only this time Veggies totally fainted.

MxG and Oslo summon their next volley of pokémon -- an off-gendered kirlia named Jade and a scrappy young phanpy named Snuffy. Jade is instantly buffetted by the sandstorm as Snuffy seems to enjoy it immensely.

Zircon shows the elephant what is what by hurling off a powerful bomb of nature-based energy that strikes his side [ -12HP Snuffy / -6PP, -1HP Zircon ]. Snuffy absorbs the hit gracefully before turning the charm up to 11 with the sexually confused Jade. He doesn't take the bait, however [ -2PP Snuffy ]. He may be dressed in a skirt, but that doesn't make him fancy the trunk. Jade instead erects a brilliant safeguard that keeps him and his kin protected from ailments [ -5PP, -1HP Jade / Safeguard activated ]. Cal is the last at bat, and summons a powerful blizzard to engulf Jade nicely [ -12HP Jade / -8PP, -1HP Calories ].

Zircon hurls another energy ball [ -12HP Snuffy / -6PP, -1HP Zircon ] while Snuffy retalliates with a powerful rock slide [ -11HP Zircon / -5PP Snuffy ]. Jade ignites his fist and slams it into Cal, but her protective barrier halves the damage [ -4HP Calories / -5PP, -1HP Jade ]. Once more, Cal responds with an icy blizzard [ -12HP Jade / -8PP, -1HP Calories ].

One more energy ball [ -12HP Snuffy / -6PP, -1HP Zircon ] strikes before Snuffy ragefully slams into Zircon with earthly energy [ -22HP Zircon / -10PP, -11HP Snuffy ]. Jade and Cal, meanwhile, continue doing what they do [ -4HP, -8PP, -1HP Calories / -12HP, -5PP, -1HP Jade ].

The kingdra float drifts away for a moment as the four battlers leap to their next arena -- a mothim-shaped float.

Calories, Mirror Coat what you can. Snuffy, Counter what you can.

Cal immediately fires a swift ice shard that swiftly strikes Zircon [ -4HP Zircon / -2PP Calories ]. She falls asleep right as she turns to face Jade, however [ +100% Slp Calories / -3PP Jade ]. Zircon responds to the ice cream cone's attack by giving her a nasty bug bite; she tastes delicious [ -4HP Calories / -3PP Zircon ]! Snuffy is the last at bat, striking the electric spider with a nasty rock slide that does terrific damage [ -11HP Zircon / -5PP Snuffy ].

Zircon turns his gaze to the phanpy and strikes with a signal beam [ -8HP Snuffy / -5PP Zircon ] just as he falls asleep thanks to Jade's swift hypnosis [ +100% Slp Snuffy / -3PP Jade ]. The pokémon just rest there for a few moments [ +10PP Snuffy / +10PP Calories ].

Zircon zaps the both of them with a jolt of electricity [ -4HP, -100% Slp Calories / -5PP Zircon ] -- it wakes up Cal!, but has no effect on Snuffy, who continues to sleep [ +10PP Snuffy ]. Cal, groggy and unforgiving, retalliates with an ice shard that deals just enough damage to fell Zircon [ -4HP Zircon / -2PP Calories ]! Jade meanwhile, is frightened, and teleports to another side of the float [ -2PP Jade ].
