Naw, it wouldn't ^_^ Besides, I'd keep the binary up. That took like two hours to do, seriously. First glimps of I*Mage is a poem form, isn't that weird?

Its 'cause I havn't settled on a design yet. So indecisive.

Yeah, I bet you can write some darn good news articles. I'm really wordy, I never could :3
Thank you Saffire Persian. (Complete list coming soon)

Houndy: I think I need to learn binary.

PancaKe: I loved the sincerity of your haiku. Even more that it can be compared to a friendship and also to a unrequited love, or si I think. Nice poem.

Chris: Two verses... two emotions... amused and laughed. Nice piece.

OK, I made two poems but in spanish, so I'll traduce 'em for better understanding. XD

Un soneto de mí para ti (a soonet from me to you)

    Un joven raro, mas amartelado,
(a weird young boy, but very much in love)
    Siente por ti, un amor de verdad;
(feels for you a true love)
    Un amor bueno y desinteresado,
    (a good and unselfish love)
Para colmarte de luz y bondad.
(to fill you with light and kindness)

    Un compańero para edificarte;
(a companion to help you edify yourself)
    Un amiguito para compartir;
(a friend to share your joys)
Y si lo anhelas, prometo amarte,
(and if you want, I promise to love you)
Y así, mimarte y hacerte reír
(and also to fondle you and make you laugh)

Aunque la dicha en ti no haya estado
(Even if the joy has not been in you)
Y en tu lado no queden amigos
(even if there are no friend on your side)
Y si tu mundo se vuelve peor
(and even if your world gets even worse)

Nuca olvides que estoy a tu lado
(Never forget that I'm on your side)
Dios y los ángeles son mis testigos
(God and the angels are my witnesses)
De que por siempre tendrás mi amor.
(that you will have my love forever)

I thought about putting the other one, but I'll do it later.

Thanks Shadow wolf! It wasn't meant to be a haiku. I initially wrote it after a night of just being on teh receiving end of someones break down. They ran off crying... and left me seriosly wondering whether it was the right thing to follow them or not. Yeah it was a mix of emotions.

I liked your poem. Although I cna't understand spanish and I'm sure it's much more complex in spanish, I loved the simplicity of the English words. It conveyed your ideas nicely and I am a sucker for simple sentences with a nice ring to them

    On The Rocks

    Every word in unison
    Holding hands tightly
    Weaving in and out
    Chocolate hazelnut walnut pancakes

    Late nights
    Thank you
    I'm happiest when you are.

    To watch you laugh
When we ride side by side
Belting off key melodies to our favourite summer songs
    It never lasts long enough

    You're amazing.
    I wish you knew.

    Neatly Paved Pathways

You were always everything I ever wanted.
This was meant to be, supposed to be, but we lost it
I like to think it was real, but you were just pretending.

Each step is a struggle to take
as the neatly paved pathway moves from under me.
I'm lagging behind, but I don't mind being on my own for now.

Seven years, eight years, and back to none
Ice cube sitting, dwindling in the sun
Security, purity, I put them in your hands.

Boats drifting away from the shore
    Falsely believing they're anchored
Emerald eyes once flared in my direction
Every day for eight years, it up
    Consumed, devoured, brought up
I'm the remains of what you would have me be

I once listened to your heartbeat and its steady pace
I once kissed you and wiped the tears from your face
Even if he redeemed you, I fear it's much too late...

I forgot why I hated you
    Thank you for reminding me
    You're oh so hollow
    Eaten away by maggots
The decaying apple by the side of the tree
    Worms have made a home
    There is nothing left substantial
    Only reasons upon reasons
As to why I hate you
    And still do

    Under covers,
    I don't want to leave
    I don't like to leave
cold air it stings at me.

    Facing Sunday,
    And the faces frowned
    that time I turned around
    I bolted out the bar.
    Under pressure.

Laugh and jeer all you want,
    chuckle as you please,
    because
    I'm drowning in my sadness
And I can't wait to leave.

    What did I overcome?
    Who did I bind close
    with my infectious sadness?
    Who do I love most?

Cloudy train waits, yes it waits for me
    I board effortlessly
I wish that I could leave.
    Under covers.

    Hillside

I am the apple decaying on the hillside
I am the fruit being eaten from the inside
I have the disease that closes me down

    Submerged
Ripples dash across a once abandoned lake
It's a pleasant day to drown

Caught up in this icy embrace
Happy to lie in the dark light
    Smiling, barely awake
    Bliss in this silence
Bliss in this cold enchanted place

Of a greater status of fear

Irregular attendance to this deserted place
Leaving questions written all over our blank face
The dark light shines upon your naked skin
You choke your hands, hoping I am within
    Cold inside this desolate space

    An autumn breeze passes by
To the moon the lone wolf will cry
Merely cunning, I fall into your shadow
This hate you hold for me, it shows
Your gleaming gem has caught my eye

    Feline
    I once considered you qualified
We've watched you walk the road

You've proved yourself, I give you that
You've proved us all, too. Wrong.

    Instead I presume the truth
You'll never say, you'll never show

    Hate?
    This tree will surely die.

    Examination

    Pallid cheeks
Have you been getting enough sun, boy?
    Stick out your tongue
    Quiver, pant: are you exhausted?
    Let me compress you.
    What's that smell? Sugarcoating?
When was the last time you brushed your teeth?
    Or for that matter, shaved?

    You squeeze yourself into corners
and reform your shape, like a stress ball.
    You cling to caffeine
Roll your tongue over chocolate and coffee
    A bloated, red-eyed marshmallow
Glued to the glare-reduced computer screen.

    You crush
and reform your shape once more
The very last time, you say to yourself:
"Oh hell, I'll just wing it."
And, diagnosed, you will pass your final examination.

    Convenience

I am your piece of paper...

To draw in me what you want me to be...

You want me to remind you of something important,
So you write what you want in me,
And you leave me on a place you commonly visit.

    You draw a nice picture…
Or even a poem in me…
    Your masterpiece
and you put me on your frame

You write your life in me
    Your experiences, your wishes
    Your hopes, your dreams
You keep me under your head when you sleep

But when you make a mistake
    You try to erase it
    and the blot still remains
so you tear out the page
    Compress me on a ball
Drop a part of me on the trash
    You left me destroyed

    Until you need me again…

I am your piece of paper…

Clearly it's you or am i

    Just losing my mind?

And yet, I am just convinced.
So sure of these things without saying
    And certain of the tension

You and I must have something between?

    Collective thoughts and theories
    Making arguments seem realities

There is something there...is there? Oh I'd love to know

now I am equally excited that you replied and read my poem and liked it but still a little empty without a poem from you!

Oh is that what ebuddy means? Mystery solved.

I liked Clouds, btw. Each line drifting across the screen like a little wisp of stratus or something. I actually kind of imagine the narrator to be looking up at a sky filled with passing clouds, staring and thinking, while she says those lines in her head.

Oh I'm glad it made you feel like that. I didn't actually intend it to be called clouds... I'm not sure why I called it clouds. I think it wsa the first thing to come into my head. Clouds are fairly veristile, they fit most moods, going from light and whispy to heavy and brooding... so I think they made a sensible choice as a title for my poem.

Ah and I'm glad my odd paragraphing helped in the imagery I've never done that before. It was fun to center some paragraphs.

If that's my idea of fun i should probably turn off the computer and go outside...

So long to the blue navy water

    I'll be your Alice
If you'll be my Mad Hatter
We'll eat peanut brittle on fine silver platters
And nothing I can think of would ever be the matter
Because every fine time would be Tea Time

If you will be my Hatter
We'll do all sorts of things.
We'd see the sea for the first time
    Wouldn't that be nice?
I've seen the sea before. Never with you
    Never with you.

    Only with you
Will it feel like the first.
    Always with you
    It feels like the first

Jajajaja, nice piece Houndy. It really made the impact on making the reference.

Well, here's another one that popped out of my mind an hour ago.

On a side note: I wonder how many references to videogames I made on this one?

Perhaps this is just an indication of the extent of my alcoholism, but I swear I see a martini glass. Is that shape intentional?

I loved the poem itself; the effect of each line becoming shorter and more breathless was, quite seriously, breathtaking. It's like life was slowly being squished out of the narrator, or they were falling asleep.

Nice work, dude. The second piece in particular was awesome. The rhyme pattern really works with that one; it makes it more of a taunt than it would have been if it were free verse.

    Little Hero

    You shine so bright
    Big superhero
    You fly so high
    It’s unnatural
    You look down on me
    The little guy
    And smirk

    I tread so slow
    The little guy
    I shine like the dark
    It’s normal
    I look up at you
    The big guy
    In awe

    I glare at you
    You glare back
    I hear you jeer
    Behind my back
    I ignore you
    The big hero
    I’m used to it

    I’m not you
    Admit it
    I’ll never be you
    Get used to it
    Don’t smirk
    And look down on me
    It’s mean

    I’ll keep my pace
    And smile
    Because I’m not you
    I’m me
    I’ll cry sometimes
    It’s okay
    It’s normal

    You stay big
    I’ll stay small
    But big in
    My own way
    A little hero
    Who treads slowly
    But still matters

I'm not much of a poet, but I thought that the poem featured in chapter 9 of Queen of Games deserved some attention. My friend who wrote it is very talented, especially considering English is his second language, so here it is:

    A Faerie's Love

Your skin’s as white as snow
And soft as a fairy’s touch I adore
With your hair an enchanted red
Like the rose a fairy rest on, mi amore

Bewitch me with your voice like a serenade
    Sang by a fairies orchestra
    Enhanced by your eyes only
Just like a clear crystal lake

    Upon your beauty is matched
Only by a fairy’s shining glow
Paled by your full blood red wine lips
I just love, like the autumn’s dress of a

Fairy’s touch, so come breathe me your love
    So that our fairy tale
Can finally start, for I grant thee
    My fairy’s love

Lady Vulpix: I’m not sure if you are talking about the emotions or about the structure itself, but I’m glad that it worked the way it was supposed to.

Houndoom_Lover: Jajaja, actually, most of my poems just come out of ideas and emotions. On this one, specifically, I began to write how I felt about the situation happening, and suddenly, I began to think about a videogame controller… and well, it happened.

Chris: I liked both poems, but the problem about reading two poems is preference. And personally, I liked the second one. The first thought that came to my mind when I ended reading the poem was: “TAKE THAT!” (No Phoenix Wright pun intended) Plus a structure using rhymes made an even more impressive effect. Kudos to you for that!

Gavin: Jajajajaja, you just made my cheek muscles hurt.
Actually, It was shape intentional, but not in an alcoholic reference (although it could describe someone’s feelings after drinking). It was more like the former question of your last sentence: to deliver the feeling of the author’s life being slowly drained out of him.

    *breathes*

classy_cat18: I love to compare poems like this into real life, and I thought of two similarities. The first is the feeling you might get when you see a famous person. And the second one is when you might like someone, but that someone might have so many falling for her/him that she/he might seem to be out of reach.

I loved the short but strong verses since it made me shift emotions quickly, delivering a nice mix of feeling. Overall, a really cool piece.

PancaKe: I'm not really sure how to feel on this one(special blend), but when I was reading the poem, I could only think of the feeling you get when you meet again someone who was a special part of you in the past. On "Am I?" I chuckled, since I got this mischievous feeling when you do something bad, but you don't regret doing it... well, I better stop thinking about it before I get mischievous myself.

Duellist Royal: Your friend must have thought of someone very special to him when writing this piece, since the romantic vibe delivered on this poem really leaves an impression of admiration. Give a pat in your friend's back and encourage him to keep writing.

    *breathes again*

Hey guys! I'm kinda new to fanfic, but I believe that Shonta has brought support to Fancif for quite some time (support to E-zine... Poetry Corner... pencil awards... and fics like Scattered Lights...), and she's also now a mod here so...

So... If there's still time... I nominate classy_cat18!
