    Default Dioscuri VS Ash0011 (ref: Oslo)

    So hi everyone I'm new here (waves) and As such I don't have much idea if this is the right way to do things but I'm hoping it is. I'm seeing if anyone would care to battle

    2 VS 2
    DQ time: 1 week

    Arena: since it's my first time does anyone mind just the plain Park Green/Field of grass?
    Special rules: none

    And IDC who goes first.

    Ash, you might want to officially withdraw from your battle with Cynder if you're going to take part in this one. I know that battle never really got off the ground, but if a ref were to come along and take it then you'll be at five battles, which is one over the maximum. Just thought I'd point that out.

    Ok Snap start off with thunder wave to paralyze him, then hit him with Dragons breath. If he gets too close use Ice Fang on him, if he stays far away another dragons breath

    slash use your speed to safeguard against the thunder wave, make sure you keep away so it doesn't ice fang you, and use bug buzz X2

    Ahh, such a lovely winter's day… the kind I would rather spend doing anything but the copious amounts of coursework I still need to trudge through before the weekend’s up. So imagine my surprise when two novice trainers appear upon this grassy plain to do battle! This is one distraction I can’t pass up.

    The trainers square off, plucking identical Pokeballs from their belts and giving them a toss. Red light fills the air as a Scyther and Deino take to the field, letting out all the expected battle cries and displays of masculine aggression. Let’s do this!

    As the match begins, Snap begins to sparkle with electric current. Anticipating his foe’s next move, Slash throws up a white energy veil that drapes itself around his body, granting him immunity to certain Status-based attacks. Sure enough, Snap’s electricity is discharged in broad wave. It fizzles against Slash’s Safeguard but ultimately has no effect.

    Slash: <-4 EP; Sgd>
    Snap: <-4 EP>

    Buzzing loudly, Slash unleashes a sonic assault that clobbers Snap again and again, doing super effective damage. The Deino wails and silences the strike with a concentrated spurt of purple energy. The stinky dino-breath hits Slash in the gut, causing the Scyther to double over… and to feel vaguely disgusted. Seriously, that thing fights with its breath? Blech!

    Slash: <-8 HP; -7 EP>
    Snap: <-16 HP; -4 EP>

    Pleased with the outcome of his first Bug Buzz, Slash deals a second. This time, he maintains a health distance between himself and his foe. As the sound waves pummel him unpleasantly, Snap considers an Ice Fang but decides it’s not worth the effort. Instead, he deals another ranged DragonBreath. Slash winces as the attack hits, making a mental note to buy his foe some Listerine once this is all over.

    Snap: <-16 HP; -4 EP>

    Ah I forgot that Scyther can learn a bug-ranged attack

    Snap, Let's put a slight crimp in his plans

    First off let's rain dance. No morning sun if it's all clouds then drown his Buzz out with Hyper Voice. If you can't hear it then hopefully it won't effect you. Finish it off with Another Ice Fang

    The match continues as Slash begins pirouetting where he stands, causing the illusion of Scythers to appear on his every side. Snap stares down the four mantises, uncertain which exactly is the real Slash. Letting out a cry, the Dragon turns his head skyward as dark clouds roll in to mar the perfect blue sky. Raindrops begin to pelt the match, first only sparsely and then in greater numbers, as an entire downpour begins. The raindrops plink against everything, ripping through the clones and causing them to vanish. Slash peers around in disbelief.

    Slash: <-4 EP; 0 clones>
    Snap: <-4 EP>

    Furious that his allies were taken away from him, Slash begins buzzing his wings, kicking up a maelstrom of sound. Snap, however, lets out a deafening wail to match the volume of the Bug Buzz. As the Pokemon work to kick up one hell of a cacophony, the sound attacks become imperceptible to their targets, rendering both attacks moot.

    Slash stands there and decides to get back a little health. He turns to the sky and tries to soak up the sun, but since it’s raining, there’s only so much light for him to metabolize. As he struggles to heal, Snap takes advantage of his opponent’s predicament and sinks his fangs into Slash’s ankle. Those pearly whites begin to sparkle, emitting icy energy that spreads throughout Slash’s body. Because Snap a Hustler, the damage for the Ice Fang is higher than usual.

    Alright! That worked out better then we had foresaw. Keep him down with another Ice Fang, then a double hit to knock him far away from you. Finih with a dragon breath unless he buzzes, then just keep up the hyper voice.

    As the downpour continues, Slash tries to pull of an evasive maneuver by getting airborne. However, his wimpy waterlogged wings are too wet to work as well as he would have wanted (alliteration = never excessive), which prevents him from flying more than a foot off the muddy ground. Nonetheless, he’s still able to fire off one hell of a Bug Buzz, causing poor Snap to wail in pain as the sound waves pummel his eardrums. His fangs again glistening with icy energy, Snap takes another bite out of Slash’s ankle. Scythers taste so much better after they’ve been left to soak.

    Slash: <-15 HP; -7 EP>
    Snap: <-16 HP; -5 EP>

    Slash keeps up the heat, firing off another painful Bug Buzz. Snap whiners and then Hustles forward in an attempt to land a powerful dual strike; however, his ability causes him to mistake Slash for the big empty patch of emptiness right next to him. As a result, Snap ends up accomplishing a whole lot of nothing by tackling air instead.

    Snap: <-16 HP; -5 EP>

    Once again, Slash does a careful twirl mid-air, calling upon a number of clones to protect him. However, since the rain is still falling, those clones are decimated as quickly as they materialized, leaving Slash all sad and ronery once again. Taking advantage of his opponent’s sudden vulnerability, Snap spews out a stinky swathe of halitosis. Slash tries to pinch his nose against the stench, but realizes he’d probably end up cutting it off instead, so he decides not to.

    With that, Slash's Safeguard winks out.

    Ok that’s it use sunny day to get rid of the rain then fly up out of range of ice fang and all of that and use a morning sun to heal up and finish by flying to a tree (if there are any) and hiding while you relax

    Ah if it's fire you want We can provide! Quick While were close enough to Snap use Fire fang, then remind him no matter how far away you can always appear with Astonish! Then if he flinched/didn't pull off morning sun then just rest yourself, if he did recover health take it away with Fire Fang

    Sick of all this friggin’ rain, Slash raises his scythes to the heavens and lets out a strident shout. Golden rays of light part the clouds, dispelling the rain and causing the grassy plain to be illuminated once more. As the heat swells, Snap digs his fangs into Slash’s ankle once again. The Scyther wails.

    Slash: <-19 HP; -4 EP>
    Snap: <-5 EP>

    As Slash’s wings begin to dry up, he rapidly metabolizes sunlight and derives health from it. Before his wings are dry enough for him to get airborne, Snap catches him off-guard with an Astonishingly sudden physical strike.

    Slash: <-3 HP; +15 HP; -8 EP>
    Snap: <-1 EP>

    Now officially high and dry, Slash finally manages to take off into the sky. Snap tries to land another Fire Fang on a dangling Scyther ankle, but the green Bug manages to evade the bite at the last second. There aren’t any trees nearby, but he flies a good fifteen feet away where he touches down on the soft grass and begins to Relax.

    Snap Thunderwave, then Fire Fang x2 unless he tries Bug Buzz. If he does just drown him out with Hyper Voices.

    Safeguard against the thunder wave then Fly up and use morning sun and finish by putting your ability to use with vaccum wave (staying out of reach)

    Sunbeams continue flood the plain as Snap, falling back on an unsuccessful Round 1 strategy, begins to crackle with electric current. Once again ready, Slash uses his superior Speed to enshroud himself with a veil of energy. The array of sparks dance across the field and begin to hop all over Slash’s body, but they fail to have any material effect.

    Snap: <-4 EP>

    Slash takes flight and once again uses Morning Sun. Ooh, bad call. Fatigue begins to accumulate at a startling pace, rapidly exhausting Slash and forcing him to return to the ground to catch his breath. Repeated healing moves are a definite risk, my friend! Seeing a clear opening, Snap hops over and lands another Fire Fang on her foe’s bent knee. Yum!

    Slash: <-19 HP; +15 HP; -16 EP>
    Snap: <-5 EP>

    Kicking off a wave of Fighting-type energy at Snap, Slash uses the momentum to again propel himself in the air. Before he’s fully out of reach, however, Snap manages to land another super effective Fire Fang that’s boosted by both Sunny Day and Hustle. It makes for one spicy combination.

    There were no special rules made about that, so you're allowed to use whatever Pokemon you want.

    Huh. Snap you did an excellent Job and I'm proud of you.

    Ok I don't know how the timing for a switch goes (this sounds silly) so my whole move list is doubled. Sorry Ref

    If Releasing takes one attack (his release happens during m first attack) then
    Take a short rest ~ Protect against Aura Sphere and Double Team to avoid Focus Blast
    If Releasing and his First Attack happen In the same Attack Slot
    Protect ~ Double Team ~ ...Take a rest if your still around too?

    Slash's U-turn will deal damage during the first action and Ricario's Aura Sphere will deal damage during the second action, so I'm not sure which set of commands to follow, Dioscuri. The first?

    As the match continues, Slash zips forward to land a speedy swipe on Snap. The Deino makes a face and curls up on the ground, rapidly regaining energy. Meanwhile, Slash glows red and is recalled to his Pokeball. Ash calls upon his second Pokemon, bringing a jackel to the battlefield. Ricario howls and prepares to do battle, inheriting the Safeguard that his ally left behind.

    Slash: <-5 EP>
    Snap: <-13 HP; +6 EP>

    The newbie proves he’s more than a pretty dog with a shiny coat of fur. He charges up a fierce ball of energy and flings it Snap’s way, but the shaggy dwaggin is ready. At the last second, he whips up an indigo shield that eats the Aura Sphere whole.

    Ricario: <-7 EP>
    Snap: <-8 EP>

    Again, Ricario needs to prove his might. He charges up a Focus Blast and prepares to fire it off, but Snap is ready. At the last second, the Deino does a spin on the spot and amasses a tiny army of clonie-clones. However, this proves to be his undoing: in the bright sunlight, the clones begin to flicker, revealing the true Snap. Ricario takes aim at the non-flickering Deino and scores a hit, which brings both him and his clones crashing to defeat.

    Ricario: <-10 EP>
    Snap: <-11 HP; -4 EP>

    With that, the sunlight goes dim. If only that had happened one minute sooner...

    Dioscuri releases a new Pokemon into battle, calling upon the help of a little green man to put that Lucario to bed. Ricario hastens toward Eddie and sinks his fangs into the extraterrestrial. Y’know, there’s been an inordinate amount of biting going on this match. Terribly unhygienic. Squealing, Eddie wiggles his fingers and changes the physics of the battlefield. How so? Time will tell.

    Ricario: <-6 EP>
    Eddie: <-12 HP; -4 EP>

    With an edge on his opponent in terms of speed, Eddie whips up a barrier to ward off any future physical strikes. Ricario, meanwhile, does a spin on the spot. Four other Lucarios materialize all around him and, unlike all the other clones that have been summoned so far, they don’t vanish right away. Strength in numbers!

    Ricario: <-4 EP; 4 clones>
    Eddie: <-4 EP; Rft>

    Taking a leaf out of his opponent’s book, Eddie also Double Teams. With that, there appears to be a ten-on-ten taking place. Ricario tries to skew the numbers back in his favour as he fires off a Dark Pulse, trying to make it as wide as possible. However, the energy is only so malleable and doesn’t manage to do more than strike a single target. The Elgyem clone vanishes.

    Hmmm I thought that it would be easy to make wider, being a pulse
    Rid yourself of the clones with an earthquake then another double team and finish with a shadow ball
    If it protects then relax, if it tries to par/sleep/burn you use protect if it makes double team useless use toxic

    Ah...Anime physics and my synchronize gives me some hope.

    Eddie, Telekinesis should lift all of you guys off the ground enough to make that earthquake useless. Then use Miracle Eye to disperse his clones. Reflect should protect you from Shadowball but let's make sure with A Psychic attack to hopefully knock Lucario around too much to use it.

    ummm lucario is steel and shadow ball is no longer physical I'm saying this so you can correct anything (although synchronize might poison steel I've found no mention of this in bulbapedia)

    No Im unsure if old anime physics (moves that can bounce off do) or not happens. Psychic is meant as a last ditch attempt to throw your pokemon off balance and keep him from completion of the move. As well I attempted this at least in my version of white while a Steel type (in my case steelnix) can't be damaged by poison moves, Poison transference (though an Elgy just to make sure) did work and poisioned a steel type. I'm fully prepared to take any ref decision on the matter (I also know I'm pretty much doomed to lose because o haven't played aSB in forever)

    I actually just finished my first ever asb battle the other day sooo we're pretty much in the same boat
    the no longer physical was just about the light screen and the poison will be interesting

    Oh! No not to - I didn't mean that - Ugh I wasn't making excuses or meaning to insult you Ash. That would be tasteless to do so. I'm saying it in a "nah, if I Messed up I Messed up and you deserve better then someone constantly editing their moves" not in the "Well your only winning because I'm new" way. I'm sorry English isn't my best language.

    As the next round begins, Eddie uses his Telekinetic powers… on himself! The little green man hoists himself into the air and the clones, forced to do whatever their master does, begin magically levitating as well. Ricario slams the ground and creates an Earthquake. The tremors wipe out his clones.

    Ricario: <-8 EP; 0 clones>
    Eddie: <-4 EP; Lvt; 3 clones>

    Being the faster Pokemon in this Trick Room, Eddie opens his third eye and feels much more attuned to, you know, his opponent’s aura and energy and all that sort of stuff. The move, however, seems to have no discernible effect. Ricario does a little spin and brings four more clones into play.

    Ricario: <-4 EP; 4 clones>
    Eddie: <-4 EP; 3 clones>

    The two Pokemon exchange attacks, swapping a Shadow Ball for an assault psionic energy. Neither attack manages to do more than eat up a clone.

    Eddie first relax a bit then toss a rock slide or two at Lucario there should be plenty since of earthquake, if he tries any Shadowballs just Teleport away.
