‡ Round 1 ‡
G'day, ladies/gentlemen/everyone else, and welcome to what I'm sure will shape up to be an endlessly exciting Pogeymon battle! At the moment we find ourselves in the middle of a field where lightning flits and forks in the sky. (Nobody stand under any trees, y'hear?) This lovely locale will serve as the backdrop as newbie and a not-quite-as-much-of-a-newbie square off against one another... and here they are now! Choi and Mr. Madister exchange the requisite super intense looks of super intensity before releasing their Pokemon to the field. The former trainer sends out a squinty-eyed rodent thinger while the latter opts for skull-wearing rodent thinger. Well, let's get this underway!
Being the faster Pokemon, Psycho moves first. The Abra raises her hands and lets out a strange whine as a shield of silver light materializes in front of her. Undaunted by this bit of witchery, Skulldozer horks up something nasty from the base of his throat... or, rather, makes a horking noise but comes up dry.
Psycho: <-4 EP; Rft>
Skulldozer: <Can't move!>
A green ball of light begins to pop and fizzle into existence. It hovers for a second before Psycho, casting an eerie radiance over her skin, but then the Abra waves her arm and sends the attack whizzing toward Skulldozer. The Cubone is knocked clear off his feet by the Energy Ball and even drops his bone. Yes, his bone! The humanity! Skulldozer grumbles to himself as he picks up his bone and does a bit of a spin on the spot. Suddenly, four identical Cubone clones materialize on the field. Psycho peers from one to the next, unable to tell which is the real Slim Shady Skulldozer.
Psycho: <-6 EP>
Skulldozer: <-12 HP; -4 EP; 4 clones>
Psycho locks eyes with the nearest clone and tries to lull it into a deep sleep. However, the staring contest proves futile: nobody seems to be drifting away to dreamland. Snickering, Skulldozer raises his arms and causes a booming fountain of earth to spray upward, launching Psycho into the sky. The Abra lands back down on the ground and looks a little shell-shocked after that surprise strike. This Cubone seems to be one heck of a fighter. I guess repressed mommy trauma will do that to you.
Psycho: <-11 HP; -4 EP>
Skulldozer: <-7 EP; 4 clones>
