Default Perfect Chaos vs. BTPoke (Ref: OSREF 2000)

Yeah I'm mad bored nowadays (yes, I will get to reffing the battles I'm supposed to, don't worry ) and I still have a slot open.

So someone just mosey down here and make up all the rules, stips, location and number of Pokemon cause I'm just too damn lazy to do so.

I'll send out first after doing so

Well, considering I happen to have a spot free from finishing my battle against razor, and the fact that I haven't battled you yet, I'll take you on.

Just gimme a sec to set all the rules and stuff. watch this post.

Rules: No OHKO (but really, who uses those ever? xD)
    Let's make this a 4v4 single battle.

I'll post an arena in another post.

Actually, now that I think about it, this might be a good idea to test out my new Gym arena.
I can do that, right? There aren't any rules against it, right?

Sure, would help me out in the future if you ever get approved for the Gym Leader position and I need to challenge you .

Post it up BTW, since I'm too damn lazy to bother going over to the Nomination topic to look at

I'll start things off by sending out Iguion

Eh. I don't see why there'd be any rules against it, so let's go!

Quote Originally Posted by BTPoke View Post

Located next to an ominous and dark forest, the zap apple orchard is densely populated with a number of dark, purple-barked trees with no leaves.
These trees, however, aren’t ordinary trees. These trees are what are called “Zap Apple” Trees. They only bear fruit once a year, and go through 5 stages to do so. The best part is, these trees are magical! And Highly Electrified! Seriously, don’t touch these things. They’ll cause a wicked shock that even Ground types can feel (about the same as a thunderbolt, including the chance for paralysis).
These are the various stages (or “signs”) that the zap apple trees must go through to bear fruit. Each sign lasts about 3 rounds, with the first one starting at the beginning.

1st sign: Wolves (beginning of 1st round – end of 3rd round) – During the first stage, various Canine pokemon will appear on the scene and begin to howl. If these wolves are disturbed during their howling, they’ll attack! Otherwise, not much else goes on during this stage. The wolves will leave at the end of the 3rd round.

2nd sign: Zap Apple Leaves (beginning of 4th round - end of 6th round) – During the round that this stage begins, a sudden strong wind begins to blow (about the strength of a gust) that mildly damages both pokemon, and the skies are covered with dark clouds. At the beginning of the 5th round, the zap apple trees will spark, sending out a mild pulse of electricity (the equivalent of spark), and the trees will sprout leaves in the blink of an eye!

3rd sign: Murkrows and Flowers (beginning of 7th round - end of 9th round)– Another sudden gust of wind will begin to blow, just like the previous round, but now a flock of murkrow will fly throughout the skies to herald the coming of this stage. If the Murkrows are disturbed, they’ll rain a flurry of attacks upon both battlers. During the 8th round, the zap apple trees will begin to spark once more, sending out another mild pulse of electricity (just like the previous round). Glowing teal flowers will blossom throughout all the trees, and the murkrow will leave at the end of the 9th round.

4th sign: Meteor Shower (beginning of 10th round - end of 12th round) – No sudden gust of wind this time. However, at the beginning of this stage, a meteor shower begins. Each meteor is about the size of a basketball, and they will hurt if they manage to hit you (chance to hit a pokemon each turn (equivalent of rock throw) = 20%). During the 11th round, the trees will once again begin to spark, sending out yet another pulse of electricity. The glowing teal flowers will burst, and a grey apple will replace each one. These are the zap apples in the unripe stage. Remember, these apples are magical, so don’t even think of trying to pick one of them, yet.

5th sign: Rainbows and Ripening (beginning of 13th round - end) – At the beginning of this stage, a lightning storm will appear, lasting until the end of the second round of this stage. At the beginning of the third round of the stage, the clouds will all disappear with a flash, and a rainbow will appear short after. The trees will give off one last pulse of electricity (this time being the equivalent of “thunderbolt”), and the grey apples will begin to glow. Each of the grey apples will transform into an apple that has the colors of the rainbow. These are the zap apples in their ripe form. Eating one of these apples will cause a random effect on the consumer (could be good, could be bad. Up to the ref’s discretion). Each pokemon can only eat 3 apples, however, before they will become immune to any effects. This stage lasts until the end of the battle.
Alright, let's start things off by bringing out

Tyler, my male gastly with levitate.

Start things out with a psychic, tyler, then use Ominous wind and hope for some boosts, then finish off the turn with a psywave (however, if the wolves are provoked, use Shadow sneak to faze into the ground on the third turn)

As it turns out, BTPoke isn't the only one wanting to give something a test drive! I drafted a new reffing template and I want you guys (or any spectators) to tell me what you think. Anything I should change? Don't be afraid to nitpick. (I'm already aware that some browsers show the hearts as being minuscule, but I'm not gonna worry about that.) I'm not necessarily sold on either Courier or Hipstervetica so if you have any recommendations then by all means pass them along.

Also, Perfect Chaos, Croagunks get Poison Touch, not Poison Point. :3

Good day, ladies and gents, and welcome to the Zap Apple Orchard! (Forgive me if I mistype and call it the Zapple Orchard. That's, like, almost certainly going to happen six or seven times.) I've ventured to these iridescent parts not only to enjoy the sights but also to ref an exciting battle between two of ASB's most affable warriors. On one side, we have rough-and-tumble Perfect Chaos and on the other we have Gym Leader-in-the-making BTPoke. Goodie! The trainers release, summoning a gaseous face a lazy-eyed frog thing respectively. Welp, let's begin!• POST-ROUND •

I say the new format is a go, but I think I might prefer your old Rockwell font, it just looked like everything fit into place when you used it :3

Let's keep up the assault Iguion. First plan something extra devious, then follow through by sending out those devious thoughts and finish off with a spectral Hadoken!.

Subs: Snatch anything Snatchable, and if he tries any super-effective attacks, just dodge them by fading into the shadows

Nasty Plot ~ Dark Pulse ~ Shadow Ball

    Subs: Snatch any boosts
Faint Attack on any super-effective attacks.

Let's snatch that Nasty Plot. He'd already have used it, so he won't be able to snatch it back, now will he?

Now, let's have you use bide. Absorb the two attacks and, once you absorb the Shadow Ball, LET LOOSE!

Snatch ~ Bide ~ Wait, then release!!

Hmm, guess I made too much usage of that tactic. Oh well.

Concentrate spectral energy onto your fist and give him a speedy punch. If he still up after that, go ahead and use a tricky cheap shot to finish him off.

Snatch any boosts bar Rest and use Protect against any combos while pushing the commands back.

    EDIT: Clarification of moves

    Protect against that first attack.

Next, dodge the attack as best as you can while using PAIN SPLIT!

Finally, use psychic, and try to throw him at a tree.

    First, use Psychic.

Then dance out of the way of that beam and go in for an ice punch.

Finally, use Psychic if he's not down, yet.

Prolly a needless question, but anyway: I know that when the trees are touched they give off an electric pulse even Ground-types can feel, but do Ground-types also take damage when the trees start randomly sparking?

Nah. The trees' pulses of electricity are the equivalent of the attack "Spark," so they're not as powerful as if a pokemon directly makes contact with the trees themselves, and they're not really imbued with any magic or anything. Ground types shouldn't be affected by the electric pulses.

Although, now that I'm on the subject, I should make it a rule that pokemon with the ability "Volt Absorb" (My Jolteon included) do not get healed by contact with the trees.

The electricity released from actual CONTACT with the trees is imbued with magic, and it ignores typing and abilities.
The electricity released from the electric pulses is not.

    Just to make that clear.
