You look up, but all you can make out is haze from the sand blotting out the sun. However, a massive crack of thunder could be heard from miles around up here. The Hippowdon behind you groans and looks up as well, and you feel a weird energy snap at the Sandstorm. Your Pokemon all hold their heads in anguish as well, Mary screaming bloody murder.

It dispells momentarily but then rises again. The hell was that?

With renewed vigor after reading the new updates to the Zone, you quickly pay the lady and take a Great Ball. You look to your cohort-and in an instant, are transported to the coastline of a island. Ahead of you is the massive caldera, and you can feel the heat rising from it already. The ground is rocky here, hardly any shrubbery.

Diglett is your first greeter, and he seems excited to be rummaging around here as much as you! In the sky a few yards away, Koffing floats about.

A Starly soars by. Garia walks to the lake, while Squiggles jumps right in and splashes about. A Lotad waddles by you.

A Sceptile seems to run from the east, passing you guys. Its just enjoying the day, despite the weird weather.

Hmmm, the buizel takes my interest, however I decide to check out that underwater system. I want Squiggles to use dive while I tell Garia to use psychic to manipulate the water and create some sort of bubble where we can breath normally. However if thats not possible I tell Garia to hold her breath while I do the same.

You point to the top of the Pyramid and Med looks back at you, unsure. You assure him its alright and Med tries. In a flash, you are gone with Kit, Mary going on her own power.

However, when you reappear, you are only maybe 8 stores us, and you can see a strange barrier blocking you from ascending any higher. Kit falls, due to gravity taking effect, and he airdashes to the wall for dear life. Mary flies up and bumps into the barrier as well, as does a way ward Tropius up here.

Kit calls over and points to a entrance way this high up. Its small, but you all can squeeze through. Lucky you; being held up by Med.

You wave at the Spearow, which flutters over to Convec. Convec lets out a pillar of steam and the Spearow edges back. Apparently, Convec had to do something stupid since you told it not to. You ask the bird if it knows a shortcut to the crater, but the bird merely caws at you and flies up and to its edge.

Yeah, that' a shortcut...just not one available to you. You keep on hiking and Convec spots a Magby. The crater's edge is near.

Understanding their roles, Garia releases enough Psychic energy to form a sphere around the pair, and Squiggles descends. You are glad you are dry, and whoa, there goes a Dratini! But the cave system is what you seek, and Squiggles guns for it. You reach a cave opening and hear ominous sounds eminating from it.

A Barboach sucks on the Bubble Garia's producing.

You speed up a abit, glad to see the crater rim isn't that high or far. But once you reach horizon, you take a moment to note what yer getting into. Down hundreds-possibly thousands of feet down, is a undulating mass of magma, that looks like it could blow at any minute. Steam vents up haphazardly and you step back to ensure yer not scalded. Massive tunnels seem to worm throughout this porous formation, and you eagerly start your way down.

Finding a good path to walk down, you edge along carefully, as some of the rocky ledges are very crumbly. From the other side of the crater, you make out what you think is a Weezing, but it could be a trick of the eyes.

Let's walk down further into the tunnels. If you see any fire types, ask them if they've heard of Entei. If there is something around thaty's gonna make this place erupt... Oh, and ignore the Weezing for now.

You keep walking along the edge of this crater, until you see a tunnel you can explore. Convec takes point as you both move though this sweltering heat. You haven't the slightest where you are going, but you happen upon another Diglett, also happily running about.

Further in, you spot a Vulpix bouncing around gleefully. Convec poses the question, but Vulpix shrugs and keeps playing.

Not seeing anything promising in your future, you ask Convec to start digging. He obliges and soon you both shoot down a few feet into a new tunnel. You look up at the hole that was dug, and guess its maybe a few meters lower. Still feels the same-HOT.

But, a Charmeleon walks by. It sniffs you two out, and growls, unsure why you're down here in a land of fire. Convec bumps into a large rock.

Dammit, well maybe Ill meet another dratini when I go back. I tell Squiggles to target the cave opening. As I see the barboach sucking on the sphere I try to tell him to get off and if that doesnt work I try to pull a scary face to frighten. And if that wont work either...I just let it be and wait till we arrive at the cave.

Squiggles goes for the tunnel while Garia tries to do something to get rid of Mr Sucky face. But as they enter the tunnel they notice that the water level begins to recede, and that Mr Sucky face leaves. As you three go in deeper, its becomes apparent that there is a point where you can surface. Squiggles bobs up at the first opening and Garia relinquishes the bubble, allowing you to stretch.

You step on dry rocky cool land, and look around. A Cave system? Sweet!

You walk, noting an ambient glow that suffices for light. Convec lays out a layer of steam to help obscure your footprints. But you get the feeling something is following you....

Whoa where are we?

You clap and pat each of your fellow journeyers on the head. This is excellent. You make your way though this system with pep in your step, but you don't' get far before you see something wriggling on the walls. Both sides of teh cavern seemed to be...moving.

Garia pokes at one, and it falls off, revealing many feet. Kabuto. It doesn't seem hostile as it flips over and goes back to being part of the wall

You make sure not to step on any of the small swarm, and continue on, taking a right down a corridor. The sounds of rushing water can be heard overhead-which don't make sense since you are under a lake. Right?

You all continue, and Garia points to a Anorith. It waves at you all and then goes back to fishing in a small pond. A Shellos is roosting on the ceiling, and whoa, theres a Gastrodon looking at the Shellos

By the way, what balls are needed to catch legendaries? Ultra, Great or even just generic Pokeballs?

You look at Convec, and ask if he's ok. Convec nods and plows forth, and you end up continuing. Convec makes a left and you both look out into the center of the crater once more. You are much closer to the pools now, bubbling magma bursting to the surface. You back away from the orange heat and turn to see Convec pumping out smoke.

Black shapes dash by, and then you see a injured Quilava, its flames glowing ambiently.

You walk toward the Gastrodon, whom is affixed on the Shellos. Meanwhile Squiggles slides over and looks at the fisher. A glance over, and Anorith allows the fellow fossil nearby for some idle chit chatter.

Garia and you stop when Gastrodon makes a gurgling sound, and the Shellos wakes up. It slithers around up there, and spits water at the Gastrodon. The bigger slug makes a low grumble and then notices how close you two got. She slithers right up to you...Garia kinda unsure what may happen.

You run over to it and see its been bitten numerous times. The wounds are fresh, not mote than a few minutes...that can't be right. You've been following this light for over 15 minutes now. Suddenly Convec goes flying again. You grab the Quilava and jump into the nearest corridor, but you find it was a trap.

4 Houndooms step from the shadows, two walking to Convec, and two headed for you.

You try to show that you have no ill intentions, and Garia does the same, but Gastrodon slides past you. You turn your head, only to see you being pushed a few feet up. Garia was then sucked onto and pulled up to be right next to you. You both stand there dumbfounded, until you feel a heavy plop o your head. Garia feels it a moment later, and then you both look to the ground. Its that little Shellos.

Oh. It was scared. The Gastrodon slides over, smiling and the lil Shellos quickly slithers behind it. Gastrodon waves its head in a manner of thanks.

Over by the pool, Anorith and Squigs laugh.

And Gah, Houndoom. and 4 of them? Maaan, I hate multi battles as it is.

Convectank, trap them behind several layers of rock slides! and hang on... A wall of several strong mons? I wonder...

If you get a chance, set up some more stealth rock markers for future visitors. And for personal memory if we come back.

Also, Whilst Convectank is busy, I'm gonna ask if these were Quilava's attackers, and if it wants to help should they be the attackers. If it does, I'll let it use Extrasensory to help build the rock wall. Don't want to give it too much stuff, those bites look bad :X

The hungry predators look a little lean. Hard to hunt for food down here it would seem. Or maybe they were tracking you this whole time? Hard to tell. All you know is that you gotta make tracks, and fast. So you shout your orders and Convec tries his best as two of them surge forth. A Rock wall slams in front of them, and a second wall shoot up between you and the others. Quilava looks at you weakly as you ask for its help, but it passes out from the pain.

You dash right and Spy Convec following. The Houdooms arr begin bashing through the Rocky wall, and so you know you have precious little time. Off you run down a corridor, jumping down a few ledges and taking a tunnel that leads south.

Garia though, notices that down a corridor to the left, theres a light.

Not wasting time, you all dive into the hole and take a breather. Inside this place, you hear all sorts of founds. Being this high at a starting point, you realize you don't know the layout at all. The walls are adorned with hieroglyphic pictures of all types of species, future and past brought together in one giant collage.

Time for some exploring? There are three doors right, middle and left.

Hearing a pack of Houndooms coming after you is not a pleasant sight. You grab the Great Ball and try to rouse the Quilava. Its all but gone. Cursing your luck you hit it against its temple and the poor lil guys doesn't even put up a fight. With your Great Ball now used, you feel your body start to teleport, right as the first of the Houndooms lunge and snap right for your face.

You reappear back at the reception desk, with sweat pouring from your body and a story to tell!

You turn to see what Garia is lookin' at, and you spot it. Its a small twinkle. It comes and goes every few seconds. You take initiative and go after it Squiggles and Garia following. The Anorith watches cautiously, but stays put.

The twinkle only bobs up and down, and you realizes this tunnel is getting pitch black. You stop, realizing you can't see anymore, and the twinkle is still a good few feet away.

So is that weird hum.
