    Default Kumi's Open Challenge

    Ta~da! Open challenge.

    1 v 1
    Rules:
    • No OHKOs
    • No afflicting status ailments
    • Only Basic or Stage 1 Pokémon


    Arena:
    Roman Coliseum
    A coliseum with a sand floor and plenty of people watching and rooting for the Pokémon, though there's so much noise that it's impossible to tell which Pokémon is favoured. There's a 5% chance of a Pokémon sliding on the sand and falling on its butt, negating the action it was meant to be using. This doesn't affect Ground or Flying-type Pokémon, or any Pokémon with Levitate.


    Whoever accepts this challenge can send first.

    Kumori vs. Aura
    These two passionate combatants duke it out under the following conditions! You might want to read them, people are rumoring they contain helpful information!

    Arena
    => The Roman Colosseum
    [Deja Vú. A pretty basic arena, covered in a thin layer of sand. However, they improved the structure in it's strength, so moves like Earthquake won't rattle the structure like they did before. However, Pokémon might slip now. ]


    DQ Time
    => 7 days by default. Plenty of time!
    => Note that DQ Time only comes into effect, when one of the combatants call it.


    Rules
    => One Pokémon is out on the battlefield. If it faints, the battle is over.
    => There's no damage cap. Get rolling!


    Additions
    => It seems like Kumori got the upper hand with her choice. Let's see if that proves to be right.
    => There's a 5% chance for both Pokémon to just slip and fail the action they were trying to execute.
    => OHKO or status inflicting moves are banned.


    ...Preparations...

    ------------------------------------------
    ...HELLO LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! YOU ARE A BIT LOUD SO SHUT IT FOR A SECOND! Anyway, I shall welcome you to the roman colosseum! Not only do we have an intense battle soon, we managed to fill the entire stadium today! Let's not bother with talking around this forever though, our battlers don't want to wait! We have Aura here, not-so-new anymore, with her magically, on the ground lying sheet and Kumori, with the master of disaster himself, with the probably most fitting name in existence! Let's get this fight rolling!

    ♣ROUND 1♣

    Our doombringer, fittingly named Disaster, starts with executing some sick dance moves of doom, while everyone watches eagerly. The whole viewership holds their breath and starts applauding afterwards. I have to admit, I'm impressed as well. However, everything the Absol tried was pointless, when Greed lives up to his name and snatches the attack boost away. Damn it!

    [ -0 HP | -7 EP | Attack (+2) ]


    Absol doesn't seem too happy about the outcome of his dancemoves, and charges at Shuppet, swiftly running around Greed, while finally striking him with black claws from behind when he leasts expect it. It seemed to hurt a fair bit! And with fair bit, I meant horrendous amounts, while I start holding a sign with "Critical Hit" on it into the air. Greed is torn between being happy because Disaster had no attack boost with that attack, and angry because he scored that critical. Time to get some revenge! The air around him gets extremely cold all of a sudden, and he sends a wave of icy winds into the Absols direction, rendering it numb for the time being. Brr...

    [ -18 HP Critical! | -8 EP | ~ ]


    A critical so early in the game is nothing you just take! Greed channels poisonous power, and gathers junk which will make the janitor that has to clean everything up afterwards happy, and hurls the complete blob at Disaster, dealing good damage to the Absol. However, his eyes start to shine, and the sickle on his head starts glowing in a dark light. Which sounds pretty dumb if you think about it. He leaps over and spins towards in the air, using his momentum to score yet another critical hit. Now come on guys with the dices in the back, this is getting ridiculous!

    Referee Notes
    • Aura will issue her commands next!
    • Two crits in a row? *throws randomizer out of the window*
    • Does "status inflicting moves" include moves with secondary effects inflicting status ailments?
    • If the Energy of a Pokémon happens to reach 0, it will lose 1 HP for every 2 EP consumed. Also, it's action pool is reduced to two per round. However, the effect of "Relax" is doubled.

    Let's ruin that Role Play, shall we? We don't want any criticals hitting us, after all.

    Welcome back to round two! Greed, still using his speed advantage because of the Absol's numbness, gathers another pile of junk, and hurls the result at Disaster, completely knocking him over. He gets up and starts to... curse? He insults Greed in any way possible, telling Greed he's not even a real ghost without flying and all that stuff. They should invent the new "Sheet" Type, weak to everything. Greed is visibly upset!

    [ -0 HP | -11 EP | Taunted! ]


    Finally the stupid feeling of numbness ended, and Absol's claws glow in a black way again. He charges into him, but ends up being greeted with a nice bolt of electricity to the face, making his charge even more furious.

    [ -11 HP | -8 EP | ~ ]


    It seems like Disaster's luck spree ended, as his next try to slice the Sheet named Greed which rhymed by the way, ends in doing mediocre damage once more. Sadface. However, he starts getting used to big blobs of poisonous junk, and doesn't even care about being hit AGAIN. (Disclaimer: Actually, Disaster does care.)

    The fight reached it's climax, and both combatants feel like ending it. That's where things get one-sided, as everyone just orders to spam the shit out of the move that proved to be the most effective. Come on guys! Anyway, Absol slashes forward, hitting the magical Sheet with his Sickle once more, who gathers an enormous pile of junk to counter with, but ends up missing Absol by a few feet. He panicks. That's not the best time to start missing!

    [ -13 HP | -11 EP | Taunted! ]


    Absol grins. This is going exactly after Disaster plans. If he had any. He once again charges at Greed, dealing a good amount of damage with his darkened sickle of doom. And of pain. But mostly doom. Suddenly, the light on his Sickle vanishes, and nothing happens at all, as if some kind of evil power restricts the use of this ferocious attack. Greed grins, while he tries to unleash another Gunkshot, and hits Disaster right into the face. The tables have turned!
    [ -16 HP | -8 EP | Night Slash ]
    [ -13 HP | -11 EP | ~ ]


    Greed's not done yet, as he charges up for yet another pile of junk, while Absol tries to figure out why he isn't able to make his sickle glow in a darker color. You should have recharged the batteries before the fight started! Anyway, the next pile of junk hits strong, and leaves Absol in a bad condition...
    [ -17 HP | -8 EP | Can't move! ]
    [ -0 HP | -11 EP | ~ ]

    That's not the problem. Actually, it's if using me first on sucker punch is possible at all. While in the Movelist it's stated that you will cut ahead the attack the opponent uses, in the games it's not possible to me first a high priority move like sucker punch.

    So, let me take a look at that first :'D

    Both Pokémon are in a pretty bad shape... The trainers shout their commands, and Absol instantly starts watching his opponent intensely, trying to execute the following attack before Greed gets the chance to do so. However, the sheer speed of the attack struck Disaster like nothing before, and he wasn't able to cut ahead properly. He falls to the ground, defeated. And with that, ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner!

    ...Afterwards...

    And that's that! It was a short, yet intense fight, if you ignore the last round with like, "USE THE SAME MOVE ALL OVER AGAIN!", but I had fun reffing this, I hope you guys had fun battling. And with that, I SHALL FLY AWAY ON MY PIDGEY! See ya later! (Also, I will have to claim my soul back at some point (: )
    Also, I have made like, 666 posts with this one, so I go ahead and assume I don't have a soul anymore :'D

    Before I forget it, me and Aura get 2 points, while Kumori gets 1.

    Sorry to interject, but sucker punch doesn't work unless the opponent's using an ordinary offensive move, so perhaps neither of them should have hit? At least that's how it works in the games, idk how you ref it.

    You are wrong with that Cynder. As of Generation 5, Sucker Punch will not fail if the opponent uses "Me First". (:
