Tag team battle! Puma and Ayeun vs. Em and Underscore (ref: Oslo)

Oslo wants to ref a tag team battle! The rules are pretty straightforward: two teams of two Pokemon trainers each will square off against one another. Once we have four volunteers, I'll create the teams and determine the release/attack order. All four participants will only be using one Pokemon each, so pick wisely.

I will ban Pain Split. There will be no damage cap. The arena will be Indigo Stadium. Attacks can only hit one target (magically).

I'll pair you in the order you signed up: Puma and Ayeun vs. Em and Underscore. Confer with your partner over PM to determine which Pokemon you want to select and then one of the two of you can PM me your selections.

Selections have been made! Puma and Ayeun will be using Sospidon the Metang with Clear Body and a shiny female Starly with Keen Eye. Em and Underscore will be using Super Saiyan and male Lucario with Justified and a male Grotle with Overgrow.

The command order will alternate between the two teams, meaning that, for the first round, the command order will be as such: Puma > Em > Ayeun > Underscore. You will only be giving commands to your own Pokemon, not your partner's, but you and your partner can obviously strategize via PM.

Aw, god damn it. I was afraid that I had to start. Well, let's just start with a strong, simple beginning.

Sub: Protect against status ailments, if any of them (didn't check movesets for everyone) uses brick break, throw yourself against them with Protect to keep the Light Screen intact!

How was this not posted? My internet was pretty bad the previous nights.

Ayeun needs to mention who gets hit by Heatwave. Set-up a Light Screen for the both of you. Not sure how you ref Light Screen but if Lucario running at them to attack would mean leaving the Light Screen, then try to make Light Screen around Lucario primarily (if that's possible). Throw a Leech Seed on Sospidon then another on Starly.

Puma and Ayeun take their place on one side of the field as Underscore and Em take their place on the other. They all then release their fighters in a flurry of Pokeballs and red light. We have a pointy-nosed can opener and a bird so boring I've already forgotten what it looks like squaring off against a big blue dog with spike paws and a turtle that could use a good pruning. Alright. Begin! As the match gets underway, Super Saiyan starts sprinting around the field to boost his already excellent Speed. Meanwhile, Starly begins to chirp, stirring up some gusts on the battlefield. As the winds blow around, Sospidon kicks up a golden barrier that protects its side of the field. However, Sospidon puts itself in the path of the attack and uses Protect, stopping the Brick Break from wrecking the Light Screen. Super Saiyan frowns and retreats to his side of the field. Meanwhile, Starly flaps her wings and sends hot gusts rolling across the battlefield. Lucario gets singed and winces. Finally, Grotle pops out a Leech Seed. It connects with Sospidon's Protect and bounces off. No dice.	-8 HP -6 EP	-4 EP

This time, when Super Saiyan strikes the Protect, cracks appear and the shield nearly gives way, but it just barely manages to stay intact. Sospidon breathes a sigh of relief, even though it is an animate life form that does not breathe. Starly beats her wings and creates another Heat Wave, directing this one at Grotle. The poor Pokemon takes some super effective damage and retaliates by forcing a Leech Seed upon his attacker. The seed lands on Starly's back and takes root. Well, worked better than expected.

Sospidon, start out by destroying their light shield with a quick brick break, then throw yourself in front of our fellow Starly with a protect to ward off the toxic, finish with a Reflect to minimise the damage from the Brick Break.

Feeling rather naked, Starly flaps her wings and sends a scorching Heat Wave zooming across the field. It engulfs Super Saiyan. Sospidon gets in on the Brick Break action and bashes its palm into Grotle. Another shattering noise fills the air as the Team Emerald_Gen.3-Underscore Light Screen breaks. With all Pokemon equally vulnerable, Grotle belly flops onto Starly. Just 'cause.	-15 HP -6 EP L.SN NO MORE	-8 HP -7 EP L.SN NO MORE

However, Sospidon kicks up a Protect and leaps in front of his ally. The Toxic strikes the Protect and slides off to the ground. (Seems to me Sospidon didn't need to waste energy on Protect, as his Poison immunity would have kept him safe if he'd just jumped in front of the Toxic, buuuut I'm not gonna backseat battle.)	-15 HP -4 EP +2 ATT	-8 EP

Sospidon gives itself and its ally another protective barrier in the form of a silvery Reflect and, finally, Grotle attacks the can opener with a Leech Seed. The plant takes root. Starly and Sospidon rain a sweltering gale and a open-palmed strike upon him, but the Protect manages to stop both attacks. Grotle then creates a sparkly screen of golden light. The former move deals damage and Burns him while the latter move also deals damage and wrecks Grotle's Light Screen. Furious that his beautiful creation has been ruined, Grotle lands a sickening Crunch on Sospidon. It tastes like revenge. Revenge and metal.
