1v1, let's see if we can get some more life around here.

    I'll send out Togepi.

I'll be eager to battle given I needs the points. Hm... I'll send in my female Sableye, Saboteur (Keen Eye.)

Since I released second I'll go ahead and give out some commands. Let's start off with a Fake Out and follow it up with a Confuse Ray. Hopefully that'll keep the Togepi confused for some time, so I'll have Saboteur finally end with a Shadow Ball.

Fake Out ~ Confuse Ray ~ Shadow Ball

Now, we just need a ref. :3

Sweet. Challenger and Ref in 24 hours! Was kinda worried looking around...

So... Let it Fake Out. Not much we can do about that. After that... Magic Coat the Confuse Ray back at it, and then use a Water Pulse, taking advantage of your Serene Grace ability.

    So...

Flinch ~ Magic Coat ~ Water Pulse

And coz I didn't specify earlier, and Oslo probably needs this important information...

Togepi is currently just called Togepi, is female, and has Serene Grace.

    • ROUND ONE •

The crowd starts to cheer as we rev up for another battle here at Indigo Stadium. Today, nepence will be taking on Greiger in a fight for supremacy. Both battlers fling Pokeballs into the field, summoning a spiky-haired baby wearing an egg as a diaper and a diamond-eyed ghost whose lousy posture makes her look like she has a degenerate spine. Let's begin!

The battle gets underway as Saboteur scores a cheap shot to Togepi's face. The lightning-fast Fake Out dazes the baby, who falls down onto her enameled tushie. She blows Saboteur a raspberry. Meanie!

Saboteur's eyes suddenly start to glow. Uh-oh. Scarlet beams jet out from them toward Togepi, who doesn't take so kindly to these X-Men shenanigans. She snaps her nonexistent fingers and conjures a dazzling pink barrier. The Confuse Ray bounces off the Magic Coat and returns to its sender, whose brain is quickly scrambled. Welp. We'll call this a learning opportunity.

Saboteur starts stumbling around like she just downed a bottle of Cuervo. Fortunately, she manages to cling a scrap of lucidity, which is just enough for her to successfully fling a crackling ball of negative energy at Togepi. Seeing as she no longer has her handy-dandy immunity to Ghost, Togepi takes damage from the attack. She growls (adorably, might I add) and fights back with Water Pulse. The attack leaves Saboteur injured and drenched. Fortunately, she's too busy blowing spit bubbles to be bothered by the fact that she's all wet. Yay Confusion?

    Indigo Stadium is fine.

I just realized that they gave Sableye a weakness at last! Took them a while. And I even get a move that hits that weakness. All of one move! Even though it is my type! Wait... what?

Hm... I'm going to say we'll go with a Detect at first, then a Shadow Ball, and then another Shadow Ball if the first Detect worked. If the first one didn't go off due to confusion then I'll simply have Saboteur use another then.

Alright. Let's go with a Leer to start. With that, hit the fairy with a Zen Headbutt and end with a Shadow Ball. Now, if at any point Togepi tries to fire off a Dazzling Gleam counter it with a Protect, but only use Protect the first time Dazzling Gleam is used this round.

Leer ~ Zen Headbutt ~ Shadow Ball (First time Dazzling Gleam is used replace the appropriate command with Protect instead. Only the first time.)

A tad over-focused on the Dazzling Gleam, huh. That's cool.

Start with Foresight, coz my Movepool seems limited here. Then... bring out that Protect sub with a Dazzling Gleam, and finish with a nice Body Slam.

Greiger... Just to throw it out there... In Generation 4, 5 and 6, Sableye can learn Poison Jab (by TM 84). This is a poison move that deals respectable damage. And is super effective against fairies like togepi.

You wanna deal damage, that's probably a better approach than Leering at me until my defenses are low enough. Especially since Leer triggers the Magic Coat sub I included...

Well I already called commands. I'll lose this battle for sure, I already know that, but it's all a learning opportunity. I'll probably get my butt creamed multiple occasions around here given I never even have come close to doing competitive stuff, but oh well. That's the game of life and I'm happy to play it that way. No worries. I just hope I'm not being boring and making this too easy for you.

Togepi seems to have fallen into a comfortable groove. She delivers another fierce Headbutt, causing Saboteur to flinch and bringing her dangerously close to defeat.

Time for the finisher. Togepi rams into Saboteur one last time, hitting him in the gut and knocking him clear out of the battle. You fought well, little Ghost. You fought well.

And with that, we have our winner!

Good match, you two! Greiger, I'm confident you'll be able to take what you learned and apply it to your future battles.

According to the November 2014 ASB Newsletter, there's a double points promotion going on... so nepence gets 4 points, Greiger gets 2 points and I get 4 points.

    Cheers!
