If a goaltender is pulled from a game, it means that they're being taken out of the game and being replaced by another goaltender, though a team can also do it to get an extra attacker when they're in a pinch. But in the case of the latter, it leaves the net empty, so that the opposing team can get an empty net goal.

A goalie is usually pulled and replaced by another goalie if they allow around 4 goals or so. Sometimes a team has to do something drastic when they're in DEEP trouble in a game.

So to answer your question, who knows? That could be a decision that makes or breaks their chance of getting bronze (I'm sorry to say that they aren't gonna get gold).
