Poll: The Summer 2003 Cartoon Character Battle-Round 1, Match 1

I want to know what you guys think. Is this a good idea to do it here? (Yes, Aipom of Doom, I already heard you, but unless you spoke for the majority of the people on this board, then let the rest of the people input their thoughts in.) Because this is a poll (actually, a series of polls), I assume that a moderator is not needed for the actual polls, but should someone post something offense, then let the moderators do their work. If I get less than 3 votes per poll, then I will shut this down, provided it gets off the ground.

This will be a popularity contest between 64 cartoon characters. Like the one currently taking place on GameFAQs, it will be single elimination. Whoever gets the more votes advances to the next round; the loser needs to step aside. Unlike the North, East, South, and West Divisions there, this will be divided up into four categorized divisions in this order: Disney/Fleischer, Viacom/Universal, Warner Bros./Fox, and Anime/Miscellaneous. Because it's already halfway through summer, I will do two matches per day. For each poll, I will put in the match-ups at the bottom of the page, and when there are results, who won.

LINUS: This is it. The #1 Seed in the Disney/Fleischer division. I heard that he was the one who saved the cartoon business from disintegrating. Is that right, Bart?
BART: He is a freaking savior, man! In 1927, Walt Disney worked with Ub Iwerks in the failing cartoon industry and came up with, get this, a cartoon with sound! The critics called it offensive, but I call it awesome! I mean, he wears nothing but shorts! Eat mine, Linus.
LINUS: Whatever you say, Bart. You can give it up for...

LINUS: And look! Is that the challenger?
BART: Looks like a cheap wooden box of sardines with some lame-brained characters someone made up in like, two seconds.
LINUS: Are you kidding? That's none other than Uncle Seltzer and a few of his troublemaking nephews! I heard that those are the Katzenjammer Kids!
BART: Who?
LINUS: The Katzenjammer Kids! They were in MY world [The Funnies] ever since 1899, and I heard they're still at it! Then, Fleischer promoted it to the rank of cartoon in 1930, but due to low ratings, they had to take it off the air.

I'm assuming that they are your picks, since I doubt that Mandy will ever become more popular than Homer Simpson.
