Monopoly: Pokemon Planned For September Release

Pokemon Monopoly

USAopoly announced at the recent 2014 American International Toy Fair that a new Pokemon themed edition of Monopoly has been planned to be released later this year in September. Interestingly enough, the game will be based on the Kanto region instead of the new Kalos region featured in Pokemon X and Y. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price will be set around $45.00.

This isn’t the first time a Pokemon themed Monopoly has been released. Parker Brothers released Monopoly: Pokemon Collector’s Edition back in 1995. The token movers were Japanese favorites: Snorlax, Pikachu, Psyduck, Charmander, Meowth, and Poliwhirl. Later editions featured Charmander, Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Clefairy, Blastoise and Mewtwo.
