Giratina and Darkrai are the only Legendary Pokemon to have been caught twice. DL was the first to catch Giratina followed by Cynder and chaos_redefined was the first to catch Darkrai followed by Grey.

I was only going for Terrakion because I'm trying to go after legendary pokémon that don't share a type with any of my other legends.

Plus, adding him to my repertoire would give me Fire, Water, Air, Darkness, and Earth.

I saw some posts about combos earlier, so I thought I might lay out my two cents on them.

As a vet, I generally use combos either if I'm in a tough spot in a battle, or if I'm trying to put a little extra distance between my Pokemon and the opposing one...whether it's making a combo composed of a priority move and two strong attacking moves, or Protect/Detect/Endure and two strong attacking moves, they can get you out of a jam if you design them just right (and here's a question, who here besides me remembers combos from the old ASB, when sig moves were in use, like Silverhawke (Quick Attack & Steel Wing) and Vas'lain (I don't know if I spelled this combo right, but it's Crunch & Thrash)? I think SilverSuicune/Prodigy might have invented a few of the old combos, though I could be wrong).

Which reminds me, do attacking combos tend to work a little better if one of the moves in the combo is a move with higher priority than others, e.g. Quick Attack, Extremespeed, or Sucker Punch?

A question for fellow refs, how much extra damage do you factor in from Super Effective attacks? I've been looking at my recent battles and wondering if I don't make the damage caused by SE attacks more prominent.

Base damage = attack's in-game base power ÷10
Super effective = x1.5
Super duper effective = x2.0
STAB = +2

I always second-guess myself when it comes to stat modifiers. I used to treat +1 Att as +2 damage and that felt too high. Now I treat +1 Att as +1 damage and sometimes that feels too low.

Back when I reffed, I had attacks do anywhere between 2 (first turn of Rollout) and 25 (point-blank Explosion) damage.

Stat modifiers in the games can be used 6 times before they stop working, so each increase/decrease run through my style means +/- 16.66~%, rounded accordingly.

EDIT: Super-effective and less effective moves are also game-based, so x2 and x0.5. Doubling this (say, Parasect VS. Charmander) means x3 or x0.33~. Moves with no effect vary from Pokemon to Pokemon but are typically weaker than usual. This is a very gray area and you'll have to ask me (if you care) for specific details if you wanna know.

I do that Oslo.

For the first three raises, I use +2, then after something reaches +4 and up, I go down to +1. By then, anything's gonna look too wonky and high.

Decreases in power though, I augment based on move. If someone has like -6 SpA and uses Water gun, Obviously I'm not gonna deduct 9 from something that doesn't even do 6 dmg. :/

OK, then I clearly need to adjust my damage calcs. I have set damage for groups of base powers (eg 0-40 BP does 2 dmg, 41-60 does 3, with a steady incline). Stat changes do + or - 1, whilst SE and STAB also do +1 each.

I would not mind the rest of long Island, also I predict that the next fire starter will be based off of the Dog Zodiac/a werewolf that knows the move hurricane and based off of Sha Wujing, who is better known here in the wast as Sandy from Journey to the West...

I can see NOA conning it to the fairytale about the three little pigs or in the case of Pokemon it would be the big bad wolf...

Although it would be very interesting if they chose to go a different route and do a game set in a region based off Atlantis like say the game version of Pokélantias, they could have the humans have advanced technology and have most of the new Pokémon be largely based off of Prehistoric lifeforms.
