Not a chance. I may like DBZ more, but there is absolutely NO denying which one is more over-the-top. You've seen the final battle between Goku and Vegeta against Majin Buu, right? The two strongest living beings in the Universe fighting against the primordial ultimate evil, using GOD'S planet as the battleground? I won't deny that that's pretty Goddamn intense, even by DBZ standards.

THIS is the final battle of TTGL.

If you don't get what's happening, here's the drill (heh): (Spoiler:) Simon (the protagonist) and his crew are fighting from the cockpit of a car-sized robot seated atop a house-sized robot. That combined robot is inside the cockpit of a mountain-sized robot/battleship base. THAT robot is in the cockpit of a PLANET-SIZED robot battleship. And THAT robot is in turn piloting Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan: a robot-shaped mass of pure energy that is over TEN MILLION LIGHT YEARS TALL. That big ugly purple-black thing it's fighting is even more ridiculous: The clip starts with it grabbing a pair of galaxies like Frisbees, crushing them together into a fucking BIG BANG (Yes, a Big Bang, and throwing it at the heroes. Not only is it not enough to kill them, they absorb it and then use its sheer power to spearhead their counterattack.

(Spoiler:) And all of that is only the last few minutes of a multi-episode battle that previously involved shit like both sides transcending dimensions, rewriting the laws of causality and probability themselves, and spamming utterly ludicrous attacks back and forth at each other, including firing so many Goddamn missiles at once that they strike every last instance of time and space at once.

I don't think it's even possible to out-over-the-top THAT. There's literally nowhere left to go. (Spoiler:) The TTGL movie goes there ANYWAY.
