ROUND EIGHT

Utterly exhausted by now, Squish slowly reaches down and starts to dig, while Starscream watches her with some confusion. Digging? Really? When there's water everywhere? Squish seems to be too tired to realise it, but with every scoop of mud she manages to scrape out (in between her ducking underwater and coming back up for breath), another lump slides in to replace it. At this rate, she'll have dug a hole in time for the 2028 Olympics in Iraq. Shaking her head with dismay, Starscream reaches out with her mind and plucks Squish out of the water. The fighting type struggles against the telekinetic grip, but she is too weak to fight it. Finally the Clefairy drops her foe back down into the water.

Desperate for some way out of this mess, Squish flops onto her back and closes her eyes, ready to go into a deep, rejuvenating hibernation. It's all too much for her though, and Starscream is so much faster. The pink puff pokemon only has to extend her mind for a few seconds, and Squish is out for the count. That little fighting type has managed to hold on for a long time, but now it's finally time for some much earned rest.

Well then. Lets have at this with Metang. (Clear body)

Start off showing the pink ball what a REAL Psychic looks like. Followed by a Meteor Mash, and finished with a Bullet Punch.

ROUND NINE

Ayeun calls out Metang, a steel pokemon that hovers just above the surface of the water. The pokemon stares down Starscream with it's beady eyes, making the pink pokemon feel a little uncomfortable. Fresh and full of energy, Metang reahes out with it's well toned mind and plucks the Clefairy from the water. Starscream squeals as she is violently shook by the attack, but by stuggling against the attack she manages to turn and face her foe, before releasing a powerful burst of flame. The fire soars through the air, cascading over the metallic blue pokemon. The heat comes as a sudden discomfort and Metang drops its foe back into the water.

Metang grunts, the noise made sounding more like metal grinding together than anything natural. It pulls back it's fist and the limb glitters as sparkling energy forms around it. A shell of energy is created, in the exact shape of the fist, surrounded by glittering silver stars. Metang quickly jabs its fist forward, and the fist of energy is shot towards Starscream. She quickly draws a shape in front of her and a silver sheet of energy appears between her and the incoming attack. The fist passes through the screen and slames into its target, but not before the glittering stars are absorbed into the reflective barrier.

Metang is already moving, even before its opponent has a chance to realise it. With both fists drawn back to increase speed it passes through the Reflective field, feeling a momentary loss of strength, before quickly slamming its fist into Starscream. The Clefairy screams, but with her foe in such close proximity, she can trap it good and proper. Electricity wells up around her, and she spins around to face her foe just as it turns back at her. The erratic bolt zig-zags towards Metang, and catches it on one arm. The arm instantly flares up, then drops as it becomes fully paralysed. Metang looks at the useless limb with concern, lifting it with its other arm. Starscream smirks, but then frowns, as she realises the Reflect screen is now floating in the air.. behind her.

ROUND TEN

Bobbing in the water, Starscream backstrokes to get beneath the cover of her Light Screen, whilst simultaniously letting loose a jet of flame at her hovering opponent. Slowed by the intermitant paralysis, Metang can't move in time and is engulfed by the flames. The sound of metal cracking under intense heat is heard, but the psychic type still manages to reach out with its mind, penetrating through the protective shield and dunking the Clefairy under water. The flames are extinguished, and after a little more dunking and dipping, Metang releases Starscream who gasps for breath, her defences having taken a knock by the forceful attack.

Starscream begins to spark with electricity and sends a massive bolt of blue lightning at her enemy. The bolts arc across Metangs metal body and he shudders as the added effect of the attack re-ignites his own paralysis. He tries to attack Starscream with his mind, but manages little more than to wobble the Clefairy around a little, dealing no damage at all.

Growing tired of this irritating affliction, Metang launches a Psychic attack quicker than Starscream can react. The attack is so forceful and sudden that is cracks the Light Screen and leaves many holes in the protective layer, dampening it's absorbing ability.Starscream is plucked out of the water and throw up into the air, where upon she is released and crashed back down, hitting the ground beneath the water hard before floating back to the top. She growls and throws out a whip of electricity that latches onto Metang, sending a thousand volts into his body once again.

ROUND ELEVEN

Starscream cools down, she focuses inwards, finding peace and solace within her mind, allowing a feeling of bliss and nirvana to wash over her. Well up until a psychic grip plucks her from the water, shakes her a round a bit then tosses her up high into the air. She frowns, as she reaches the pinnacle of the toss, then falls back down into the water with a crash. And that was so calming too. Regardless of the interruption, she feels certain that she found some kind of inner peace during the brief meditation.

Feeling like she can take on the world right, Starscream faces her foe and breaths a billowing flume of intense flame at the Metang. The robotic like pokemon tries to dodge it, but finds it is unable to move fast enough due to it's body locking up. It grumbles as the flames wash over it, leaving its once shiny metallic body charred and partially melted by the flame. It tries to focus it's will into an attack, but the combination of paralysis and being burnt are too much of a distraction.

Man, Metang is pissed now. It narrows it's eyes at Starscream, who is already breathing another ball of flame. this time Metang is having none of it. A keenly focused mind penetrates the five pronged ball of flame, flicking out the flames in one swift motion, before crashing through the reflective screen and pouring into the Clefairy. The pink pokemon screams as the psychic attack this time aims directly for her mind, twisting and groping into her subconscious and tearing through her soul. If it weren't for her previous search for inner peace, this could have been a lot worse.

Suddenly both pokemon are hit by a powerful blast of wind and energy, as a giant ship appears above them. It hovers high above them, then begins to lower itself down for a closer look. A forcefield is generated around the ship, which expands to encompass the battling pokemon. Oddly, it pushes the water away from the pokemon. Starscream flops down to the ground, which she finds is firm, if not a little damp. The shield is holding back all of the water, but there's enough room for the pokemon to battle in. They also can't go too high, or they risk bumping into the bottom of the ship.

ROUND TWELVE

With the ship hovering above them, the two pokemon are at odds of what to do next. Defend themselves from the possible threat, or continue to beat each other mercilessly? A burst of electricity from Starscream puts paid to the dilemma, as the lightning arcs across Metang's body, leaving it twitching violently as more paralysis is piled upon it. Despite being hit with a second volley of numb inducing electricity, Metang is able to get down to Starscream's level and slam one fist down on the centre of her head. A little more to the left and she's have been cracked in half like a brick, but thankfully, she's all right.

Starscream grumbles, before leaping up in the air and over her lowered foe. Her fist crackles with an explosive force, and she brings it down firmly onto Metang's head. The force of the punch and the resulting explosion slam Metang down hard, crashing it into the floor. Left reeling by the attack, and suffering greatly from paralysis and a burn, Metang tries to refresh himself. It looks inwards and focuses on all that it knows about cleansing the body and mind, but finds it just can't get the information it needs.

Left confused and with its head slightly reeling, Metang curls its hands in close to its body and starts to spin. Faster, faster, faster, Crunch! Metang's body seizes up, and it thumps down to the floor again. Starscream shakes her head in dismay. but grimaces a little for the suffering Metang is going through right now. She takes a deep breath, and lets loose a long stream of fire. The red flames completely cover Metang, leaving it roasting and sweltering in the heat. Finally the flames subside, and Metang is able to gently float back up, clearly weakened. Starscream on the other hand is completely exhausted now. Her muscles hurt, and every time she exerts herself to attack, it's going to take its toll.

The bottom of the ship opens, and a set of rings descend. They surround the two pokemon, and a white light envelops them, teleporting them on board. The pokemon (and their trainers) find themselves in a strange room, where the walls and ceiling are made of metal, but a lush red carpet is underfoot. There are four doorways into the large room, but in each doorway stands a person in flowing robes, holding a staff in their hands. The jewels at the end of the staffs are pulsing with energy. There are no sources of water in the room, and there is nothing to provide cover or act as a form of ammunition. It would appear the aliens want to observe the battle a little more closely.

- I checked Bulbagarden, Serebii, Veekun and Smogon. Metang can only learn Refresh through an event, and I'm pretty sure event moves are banned. If I can get confirmation on that or otherwise, I can edit if necessary.

- Change of scenery for a few rounds.

- I need to change the way I ref Exhaustion, but until all my battles are over, it's staying as it is.

Weak, stuck between a rock and a hard place, and altogether finished, Metang isn't going to go out without a fight. Starscream is faster than him, and quickly begins to blow a jet of high powered fire at the psychic type. Metang rushes into it head first, and manages to land one final strike upon the Clefairy's head before he is knocked out by the intense flame.

ROUND FOURTEEN

Ayeun releases a small pokemon that hides it's body beneath massive dark petals. Though struggling against it's exhaustion, Starscream manages to force out a powerful burst of flame that singes the carpet underfoot and collides with Blossom. Fortunetly, the grass type is able to quickly and easily raise a protective barrier that merely absorbs the attack rendering it useless.

Blossom's petals wobble slightly and the pokemon glitters. Outside the spacecraft, the sun brightens, the mist clears and and the clouds part to reveal a great city in the distance, two moons in the sky and a brilliant rainbow. Inside the ship, however there is no natural light getting in, leaving blossom to make a miserable grunt, just as she is hit by a short blast of ice. Starscream barely manages to pull the attack off before slumping backwards.

Without any sunlight to aid her, Blossom uses the energy she has inside her to attack, creating an attack half the strength of usual. Starscream, despite charging up an electric attack is struck by the Solar Beam and knocked into the metal wall, where she groans and can't find the strength to go back to her attack.

ROUND FIFTEEN

Left a little tired from using up so much internal solar energy, Blossom tries to recover from the ordeal, pulling all her energy into healing her body, relieving it of it's aches and pains. In doing so, she recovers the health she lost in the previous round, but expends more energy than she'd hoped. Starscream attempts a gentle song, designed to put her foe to sleep. Blossom sways gently, but ends up only a little drowsy due to the effects of the Recover.

Blossom, althought a little sleepy, throws out a swarm of glittering purple leaves. They float in the air for a second, before all fly at Starscream, striking the pokemon perfectly on target. Starscream retaliates, by sending a howling wind filled with shards of ice at the grass type, waking Blossom up but leaving her chilled to the core.

Blossom peeks out form under the petals, to see where her enemy is. Spotting the knackered Clefairy, she takes a running jump at the pokemon and slams her entire body into Starscream. Blossom is left slightly winded by the impact, whilst Starscream is finally knocked out for the count.

At the end of the round, the aliens decide they have seen enough, and send the pokemon and the trainers back down to the planet's surface. With the sun still shining, Blossom comes out of her petals, and is blessed by her Flower Gift.
