B4: Yeah, Bebop's awesome. Who wouldn't love that series?
Who could those two be? I wonder... or at least, I can act like I'm wondering.
More is soon to come!
Faiz: Trouble? Perhaps. But isn't trouble entertaining?
Hehe... I'm glad you liked the one-shot. I certainly had fun creating it!
Toxicity: Hey, controlling one's own actions is impressive when you'd rather lash out.
Bushy Brows? Heh... maybe this new guy's actually Rock Lee!
I'll say this much... I've dropped hints about their identities here and there. As for whether anyone has uncovered them and deciphered their meanings, that's my little secret.
And that is a fun picture, isn't it? ^_^
Mikachu: I see what you mean. 99 pages is a lot to read for the plot that's been revealed so far, when you look at it in the traditional sense. I've been coming to terms with that myself. However, it's a little different when you realize that a page is really just six panels, and that means that things necessarily progress a little more slowly. If this was a manga series, we might be through one volume by now... that's sort of how I've begun to understand it, anyway. I definitely see your point, but with limited space in each page, I can't do all that much about it.
Case in point: Look at the cover pages thus far. Each one has characters that I expected to reveal by the end of the "book" and that weren't shown in time despite my best intentions. That says it all for me... it's just impossible to move at a breakneck pace.
Action is something I've tried to incorporate, with limited success. It's really hard with a fic like this... I've done certain things to create the scenes I've envisioned, but sometimes I just have to improvise. That's really the biggest thing with which I'm grappling, because it's something that's both difficult and possible to change for the better. You're right to note that as a possible weakness.
You didn't sound rude at all; actually, I appreciate the blunt criticism. That's the sort of thing I've been seeking. And as for your suggestions... let's just say that #100 won't be the last page.
Seadra: Becca has been quiet, hasn't she? Maybe there's a reason for that... and who's this other visitor from the great beyond?
And I'm glad you liked Make a Move. It was just sort of a thought I had awhile back. Ironic, because it ended up coming back to inspire me a few months ago in an entirely different context than what I'd initially envisioned.
Ada: Rebellion does seem to be a common sentiment. Charles did seem pretty determined, although fg's response was odd. Is there something he's not telling us?
Non-violent? Suuuuure. Yeah, I totally believe that. Uh-huh. Definitely. A complete pacifist.
And hey, I've promoted all kinds of other people in my titles. It's about time the Pika got a little attention! As for the mystery lady, I suppose that isn't such a big revelation. But there's something important many people seem to have overlooked...
Gavin: It's always hard to confront the truth. And it's especially hard when you've been trying to lie to yourself.
Martin was everyone's superior, in more than one way. Although Brian quarreled with him from time to time, he probably had the utmost respect for him. As for the ellipses, I've been using them a little more as the number of dramatic pauses has increased. They've been there before, but they're the focus a lot more now.
Characters, new and old! Hooray! And mod power is awesome, although it can incite a bit of member frustration when overused...
See, I wasn't kidding about Ada! She chooses her words carefully. The mods have already got a lot on their plate; they don't need another one incapacitated. And it's actually a mining helmet; I decided to use that picture anyway just because of her facial expression.
How should we consider Charles? I'm not saying a word. But fireguardian's anime character (Zenigata) actually isn't a reporter... he's a detective! Zenigata always looked like a journalist to me, though, so I went with it.
fireguardian is a little self-contradictory, but we all are to an extent. But will his character remain that way? Oh, and Rush Hour 3 looks totally awesome. Now there's a series that deserved two sequels!
Ada chooses both her words and actions carefully. If anyone else had done the same thing to him, maybe it wouldn't have had such an effect on Brian... but she never does that. Frying pans are awesome, but network outages are not.
*hums X-Files theme* How will the mods handle these multiple challenges? And is she talking to Bushy Brow? Or is somebody else there? Maybe there's something else you need to consider... And why haven't they "swiveled their view," anyway? For that matter, what's going to happen with the next mod?
To be honest, the scripting was a little tough for awhile because I've been trying to get to this point. Now that we're here, it's flowing a little easier for me. But what plotline do you all think I'm planning? Heh heh heh...
You want a third book? Well... maaaaaaaybe...
Charles: Evil is a matter of opinion!Yeah, I've heard horror stories about crooked mods and stuff. We've never had anything that bad here, although there have been annoying ones. A good example of "rebellion" was when everyone got upset at WPM. I've never been sure who was more in the right with that clash, but the rebels did succeed in the end.
Yeah, I figured some people might realize what Ada was going to do... frankly, though, it seemed worthwhile to me. If you're an Eva fan, you probably remember a scene where Rei slapped him. I was going to use that to get a little more action in the fic, but the "camerawork" was a little different than I thought, so I couldn't get a good picture with the perspectives available. But anyway, what should we make of good ol' Charles?
Gabi: Sides, factions... what's the difference?
I honestly didn't plan it this way, but the 100th page is being released at the same time as the 100th episode of Naruto. So for those of you watching the "Naruto Hundo," here's a special bonus!
#100: Perhaps mr_pikachu should've spent a little more time defining "stupid."
