Oh wow. The bruise. Frying pan threat. Awesome.

And by the last statement, Charles seems to be acting a bit like Lady Macbeth or even Antonio from The Tempest with violent tendencies that reminds me of Tybalt from Romeo and Juliet. A little rebellious, (possibly) power-hungry...how much better can this get?

But back to this new page.

Somehow I can relate to Ada. Except, of course, I've yet to hit the friend teaching me how to manage a server. The thought of it, though...

But yes. A simple slap to the face and Brian's okay - amazing.

    Shonta: *quietly hides cookware*

It's fun for me to try to find different characters and see how people react to them. Especially in how well they believe they match the personalities of their respective members, whether it's Sarutobi for Martin or Amarao as __________. ^_^

Magi: Frying pan antidote? Let me try some of that...

    *hits self with frying pan*

    *falls over*

Faiz: You know writer's block is extreme when it makes you suicidal.

A permanent five-fingered indentation is usually enough to snap anyone out of any trance. Try it on someone in a coma and see what happens!

    Trouble, you say? Perhaps...

    Blade: ...Yo, Magi? You okay?

Yes, a propensity for senseless beatings is a very attractive quality, I'm sure.

Seadra: Let's all hope Ada doesn't have cast-iron cookware. And thanks for the compliment about the bruise. Been waiting to use that!

DS: Maybe. Or maybe this will only invite further conflict. We shall see...

Things are about to get a little more complicated.

B4: And that's why I have this site. Note the same link on the first page of this thread. ^_^

Yeah, I thought Vash would work well for Charles. Especially given his apparently rebellious nature.

Frying pans are the Windex of this world! [/My Big Fat Greek Wedding reference]

Sike: Ehh, the "poor guy" probably deserved it.

Somehow I doubt Ada would make an idle threat, knowing her...

Toxicity: See, I'm giving people gift ideas for Mod Day. Someone can give Ada a shirt that says "I solve my conflicts with violence!"

...Yes, Mod Day! If there's not such a thing, there should be!

Looking at the list of characters, I see your point with some of them. One does have to wonder about Charles' intentions... sure, his boss has problems with the mods, but what would he get out of it?

You must have a lot of self-restraint to not hit that friend, I have to say.

    And considering how hard Ada hit him, Brian should consider himself lucky to be conscious. ^_^;

    Read on!

#99: As if the mods didn't have enough problems...

"Make a Move" was also a philosophical one-shot written by yours truly.

    Yeah, self-restraint. "All-around nice girl" is just a statement. >_>;

Now we have somewhat of an answer as to exactly who the purple-haired beauty is. "Mr. Bushy Brows" will probably pop up soon, and then we'll have a better idea of their story and situation.

I know everybody's previous ideas of who the two are could possibly be the answer, although it could be anybody not mentioned, or even somebody mentioned in disguise. But still, twists lead to more problems more times than not, so we're definitely in for something.

Also, Gavin's "oh shi-" face in the second-to-last panel is now my new favorite expression.

Well, I am not sure if I use the right word, I just found it from http://www.tracetech.net/sanat , but I feel a bit... numbed. I felt this was an original idea and easier to read than most of the fanfics but now too much is too much and I think 99 pages should contain more complex plot twists, more depth and so on. And action is something I yearn for, too, because it's War of the Forums. And I said this is still interesting, I still like it, but I don't see you improving. It's like I creating a ten-page comic in one week or so, at least it's not enough for me to improve my style and get the best out of my characters. Hmm, on the other hand, my own currently half-finished comic has been in progress for 10 months I think and it's actually making too much progress because the last pages are drawn well better than the first ones which are horrible. Now I'm talking about myself...

In short, this comic is either too long for me or not enough detailed. But you should either make a quick, good ending OR write at least 400 pages to conpensate the slowness of this comic progress.

Sorry if I sounded rude, I am not good at reviewing anyway.

#96 and 97: Wow, everyone wants to rebel against the mods. I doubt Charles will just let his idea go... but somehow I didn't see fireguardian as the conforming type. Maybe he's got some other reason for letting the mods control the press?

#98: Poor Brian. It's cool how in panels 2&4 Brian's not facing us and in panel 5 there's this closeup of the slap so wer'e like "ah, that's why". In real life I'm as non-violent as you can get though

#99: Self-promotion, eh? Well we sort of knew the lady was an alien, given she had connections with Saff and I think referred to 'the mods here' once or something. But I think I'm slow... who's being called 'kid'? Eyebrows guy? It sounds more like something Blademaster would say.

    A whole week? Egad!

#92: Poor Brian, trying to keep his hopes alive until that fifth panel. What an effective shot. And the last one, naturally, conveyed the full force of his shock.

#93: Emotional page - shock, disbelief, denial. Brian's speaking about Martin like he was Dumbledore or something. But I suppose he would have considered him to be a great deal more experienced or powerful than the other three of them are. I liked the use of ellipses to denote silences - I'm sure this has been used throughout the fic, but it just caught my attention on this page, and I realised there was no other way to really signify a pause or silence before a character speaks other than that.

#94: Fireguardian appears! Charles looks evil. Hoorah for Gavin wielding mod power ... although the 'real' Gavin would be very angry about free speech being 'stifled' so to speak. But that's neither here nor there!

#95: When Ada speaks, it's important! Damn straight. Even if Brian is grieving for Martin, he needs to pull himself together! Ada and Gavin are trying to. It's the only way they'll have a chance of working out what's going on. Additionally, Ada's hat in panel 5 looked one of those pith helmets those old explorers used to wear in the desert ... that made me laugh, even though I'm sure that's not what it is really.

#96: Charles IS evil! Or close to it - subversive, perhaps? In any case, this is interesting. Who is allied/working with? Good call with making fireguardian's anime character a news broadcaster - he looks quite stereotypically journalistic.

#97: "The mods have always been good to me." Hmm, gratitude and integrity, despite not necessarily being the nicest person. I like that. Thus I quite like fireguardian's character - at this stage, anyway. In unrelated news, I really want to see Rush Hour 3 ... dunno if it's out yet though.

#98: Hehehe. Ada slapped him. Well, if it's brought him out of his reverie, then it was worth it. It's not healthy to dwell on that kind of stuff, even if it seems like you need to. ... Anyway, the frying pan reference made me laugh! And the computers are back to norma, thank God ... now let's see what's going on ...

#99: Just when the action seemed to have ebbed - another alien! I still think Gavin will go and hold his conference, and maybe then the mods will go to investigate the newcomer. But I wonder if she is necessarily talking to Eyebrow-Man in that shot. The conversation between her and the unseen character makes me think it could be Mega Horny, just because of the "I'm not a kid" comment ... I'm sure he's said that before in the fic ... In any case, couldn't the mods just swivel their view to see who the alien chick is talking to? Hmmm. Interesting indeed. And what will come of this next moderator that will be 'revealed'?

I'm really enjoying this still, Brian. It seems to me that the scripting has been getting better lately - not that it was bad before, of course, it's been great from the start - but it's starting to feel more in-depth. And I get the feeling that you're really setting things up to fit a greater plotline now, moreso than ever before.

And now, page 100 is imminent. Will you be making a 'third book' of WotF after the next page? In any case, I'll be reading!

Gavin I am not evil, you Mods are! :p LOL well maybe not here at TPM, but I have run it to a few Crooked Mods and Admins before I came here to TPM....for example there was this one mod with the username Megastar who at one time banned me for spamming, but the Ironic thing was that he moded the Pokemon board however most of the topic in the board where not even Pokemon related, most of them had to do with an RPG that was named Gecko something, but my guess was he got tied of me saying I had a Shiny black Charizard, Ironicy here at TPM I do even if it took me seven years to do…

Sorry Brian, anyways I knew Ada would slap you, and I agree that lady might be talking to Mega horny oh and as for Peal I have all the badges all of them won by only using my Empoleon, anyways I am taking a brake from playing it this weekend because of the Naruto marathon running all weekend long…
Anyways I wonder if Charles well ever fight, or even if he has a forbidden
    Ace Trick up his sleeve...

B4: Yeah, Bebop's awesome. Who wouldn't love that series?

Who could those two be? I wonder... or at least, I can act like I'm wondering.

    More is soon to come!

Faiz: Trouble? Perhaps. But isn't trouble entertaining?

Hehe... I'm glad you liked the one-shot. I certainly had fun creating it!

Toxicity: Hey, controlling one's own actions is impressive when you'd rather lash out.

Bushy Brows? Heh... maybe this new guy's actually Rock Lee!

I'll say this much... I've dropped hints about their identities here and there. As for whether anyone has uncovered them and deciphered their meanings, that's my little secret.

And that is a fun picture, isn't it? ^_^

Mikachu: I see what you mean. 99 pages is a lot to read for the plot that's been revealed so far, when you look at it in the traditional sense. I've been coming to terms with that myself. However, it's a little different when you realize that a page is really just six panels, and that means that things necessarily progress a little more slowly. If this was a manga series, we might be through one volume by now... that's sort of how I've begun to understand it, anyway. I definitely see your point, but with limited space in each page, I can't do all that much about it.

Case in point: Look at the cover pages thus far. Each one has characters that I expected to reveal by the end of the "book" and that weren't shown in time despite my best intentions. That says it all for me... it's just impossible to move at a breakneck pace.

Action is something I've tried to incorporate, with limited success. It's really hard with a fic like this... I've done certain things to create the scenes I've envisioned, but sometimes I just have to improvise. That's really the biggest thing with which I'm grappling, because it's something that's both difficult and possible to change for the better. You're right to note that as a possible weakness.

You didn't sound rude at all; actually, I appreciate the blunt criticism. That's the sort of thing I've been seeking. And as for your suggestions... let's just say that #100 won't be the last page.

Seadra: Becca has been quiet, hasn't she? Maybe there's a reason for that... and who's this other visitor from the great beyond?

And I'm glad you liked Make a Move. It was just sort of a thought I had awhile back. Ironic, because it ended up coming back to inspire me a few months ago in an entirely different context than what I'd initially envisioned.

Ada: Rebellion does seem to be a common sentiment. Charles did seem pretty determined, although fg's response was odd. Is there something he's not telling us?

Non-violent? Suuuuure. Yeah, I totally believe that. Uh-huh. Definitely. A complete pacifist.

And hey, I've promoted all kinds of other people in my titles. It's about time the Pika got a little attention! As for the mystery lady, I suppose that isn't such a big revelation. But there's something important many people seem to have overlooked...

Gavin: It's always hard to confront the truth. And it's especially hard when you've been trying to lie to yourself.

Martin was everyone's superior, in more than one way. Although Brian quarreled with him from time to time, he probably had the utmost respect for him. As for the ellipses, I've been using them a little more as the number of dramatic pauses has increased. They've been there before, but they're the focus a lot more now.

Characters, new and old! Hooray! And mod power is awesome, although it can incite a bit of member frustration when overused...

See, I wasn't kidding about Ada! She chooses her words carefully. The mods have already got a lot on their plate; they don't need another one incapacitated. And it's actually a mining helmet; I decided to use that picture anyway just because of her facial expression.

How should we consider Charles? I'm not saying a word. But fireguardian's anime character (Zenigata) actually isn't a reporter... he's a detective! Zenigata always looked like a journalist to me, though, so I went with it.

fireguardian is a little self-contradictory, but we all are to an extent. But will his character remain that way? Oh, and Rush Hour 3 looks totally awesome. Now there's a series that deserved two sequels!

Ada chooses both her words and actions carefully. If anyone else had done the same thing to him, maybe it wouldn't have had such an effect on Brian... but she never does that. Frying pans are awesome, but network outages are not.

*hums X-Files theme* How will the mods handle these multiple challenges? And is she talking to Bushy Brow? Or is somebody else there? Maybe there's something else you need to consider... And why haven't they "swiveled their view," anyway? For that matter, what's going to happen with the next mod?

To be honest, the scripting was a little tough for awhile because I've been trying to get to this point. Now that we're here, it's flowing a little easier for me. But what plotline do you all think I'm planning? Heh heh heh...

You want a third book? Well... maaaaaaaybe...

Charles: Evil is a matter of opinion! Yeah, I've heard horror stories about crooked mods and stuff. We've never had anything that bad here, although there have been annoying ones. A good example of "rebellion" was when everyone got upset at WPM. I've never been sure who was more in the right with that clash, but the rebels did succeed in the end.

Yeah, I figured some people might realize what Ada was going to do... frankly, though, it seemed worthwhile to me. If you're an Eva fan, you probably remember a scene where Rei slapped him. I was going to use that to get a little more action in the fic, but the "camerawork" was a little different than I thought, so I couldn't get a good picture with the perspectives available. But anyway, what should we make of good ol' Charles?

Gabi: Sides, factions... what's the difference?

I honestly didn't plan it this way, but the 100th page is being released at the same time as the 100th episode of Naruto. So for those of you watching the "Naruto Hundo," here's a special bonus!

    Uh oh...

Gavin seems to be going into a fight where he'll be blinded by the desire for vengeance, causing him to be unable to think clearly... Or show any mercy. From what we saw before Jay bit the dust, there may be a little beast in him already, and it may be let out in a much more violent manner.

This is gonna get worse before it gets better...

It's been a little while since I commented, yersh... moving, man. It kinda hurts. So does having very, VERY irritating issues with the internet. Dammit, I thought I'd escaped those... college isn't supposed to give you internet trouble!

Commenting on each individual comic is, once again, above and beyond my capabilities at this late/early hour. Therefore! All I can really say is I'm still confused, I think Gavin's about to do something stupid, Naruto only aired 100 episodes and that surprises me (not that I know anything about it, but hasn't it been longer than that?), congrats on comic #100 and I applaud your dedication thus far, and I think I, the Queen of Nitpicking, have found another place of great awkwardness. I understand what you were saying about that period earlier (I was just on high alert and going out of my way to find any sort of grammatical discrepancies after reading a book that was FULL of them due to the author's lack of "style"... Nadine Gordimer needs to learn to write, dammit!), but I think "you" should say "Gavin, you have the most fighting experience out of all of us" in the first panel. Either that or something like "you have more fighting experience than any of us"; the way you have it sounds rather uneducated, almost as if "you" are saying something along the lines of "I would of done that yesterday." Again, perhaps there's a reason you have it that way and I'm just too tired to think of it, but it still reads very awkwardly.

Um. I should be elsewhere. Whoo, #100.

Congrats on 100 pages, Brian. Granted, they are pages and not chapters, but that is still quite a milestone. (That came off sounding condescending - you know what I meant.)

I'm sure Gavin's going to do something reckless here, and I can only hope it doesn't backfire on him, or, perhaps worse, the other mods. If he gets himself taken down by this alien chick, there will only be two mods remaining, and that would be a scary thought.

Egad. What will happen next? The suspense continues ...

I had to show up to congrat you on your 100th panel, mr._pikachu.

And now we have the mods going to capture another female. Hoo boy, things are getting weird. And whatever happened to the Dark Sage / Mega Horny subplot? Huh?

Of course not. Because that'd suck really, really hard. Unfortunately, even though you didn't think about it, this guy did.

Faiz: "I solve my problems with violence!" ^_^ We'll see how it all works out.

Did Gavin have the opportunity to show off any of his mod power against Jay?

Yes, I have quite a few big things planned. There's a lot more to this than a little MH-TML romance and a brief skirmish with Jay. But what comes next...?

    And coincidences are very fun!

DS: Interesting analysis. But will Gavin regain his composure? Will he slaughter this new visitor? Or will he be too blinded by rage to defend himself? Let's see just how much of a "beast" Gavin really is.

Gabi: Stupid is a point of view, I suppose. And stupid is as stupid does.

    Thanks for the congrats, Gabi!

Ghost: Man, you've been busy! Thanks for displaying such dedication; I appreciate it!

I'm glad you like it so far, and I hope the plot twists to come liven it up even further. And the Naruto Hundo was cool... I hope someone puts those commercials on Youtube or something, because they were utterly extraordinary too!

Sike: Aliens! Rockin'! Is Gavin equipped to deal with this threat, or will she be more of a problem than TML was for Martin? Hmm... this could be treacherous.

Phoenixsong: I totally agree with you. I'm just now getting my internet equipped with broadband, largely due to the stupidity of the university in general. And my DS is still very much unconnected. (Furthermore, hopefully I don't have a parking ticket or something as well, because the permit shop never fails to be closed when I go there.)

Yeah, Gavin's rushing into battle, for better or worse. I appreciate the congrats about #100, too! As for the grammar nitpicking, that would be a... questionable sentence in some situations. But remember that this is dialogue, not narration. It doesn't matter if it's grammatically correct; what matters is whether or not the character would say it. It would be wrong if "of" was a replacement for "have," but instead I'm simply omitting "all of" before "us." That's sort of the grammatical basis behind that sentence. *shrugs sheepishly*

    Whoo, #100!

Gavin: Nah, it didn't sound condescending. Thanks for the congratulations, Gavin!

What, you don't have faith in yourself to regain your composure? Well, we'll see whether or not it all pays off in the end. This conflict certainly has the potential to end badly; hence why he's not supposed to worry about the press conference. Maybe they've learned their lesson about being distracted in battle. But there's more than one way for a fight to go horribly wrong...

Shuppet: Thanks, SM. I appreciate it!

I wonder if Gavin's really got his mind on detaining this new presence. As for the DS/MH subplot, it's there, waiting in the background, preparing to spring forth at a moment's notice...

Magi: I appreciate the congrats, Magi! Thanks! 600 panels is a lot, especially when you consider that those are only on the "main" pages.

    Fight, Gavin! Fight!

Blade: Thanks for the congratulations! But I think you need to get some new lackeys... you don't actually have any at all, do you, Mr. I-Work-Alone? It must be hard when you run the I Syndicate.

...I would ask for some of that soda, but now it's contaminated.

Let's end Book Two on a high note!

Extra #2: Once again, this is more closely based on reality than I care to admit. Except for the fact that I just did.

Do any Robot Chicken fans recognize the "I'm a champion!" line?

#100: "You've had a bad day"? That must be the understatement of the year. So I guess Gavin's going to avenge Martin's death... ouch. And I noticed that in the duty roster, no one's guarding the prisoner again! Although if the lady has anything to do with Becca, going after her might be the most effective way of preventing Becca's escape anyway.

Extra: hehe, nice insight into your writing habits! Yeah for some reason staying up and writing while half-asleep works for me. Looking at the clock doesn't though; it makes me think "I have to go out in ten minutes, why bother", "I really should be doing some of those maths questions", or "let's just call it a day... sleep..."

Some great info on story writing there, I need to write a script for school but unfortunately becuase of my recent events my head has a headache as large as a semi trailer carrying 2 tonne cattle has just cracked open a small ping pong ball.

Anyway good to see you have finally hit 100, in celebration I will now go into the amazonian rainforest, russle you up 100 species on the verge of extinction and baste them in mustard for you brunch. Or if you don't like that a simple pat on the back?

Anyway that is probably the fever talking good luck to you, the comic and is ongoing continuance.

Ah, yeah, good point about the dialogue. I see what you mean. My eyes are still hyper-sensitive to that sort of thing, though, and sometimes it even bothers me in more traditional stories where I guess I'd expect to be able to tell the difference. Quotation marks and all that, you know. I can't help it, I guess. And, eh, I don't know about you, but I don't know too many people who would say it that way to begin with. But if you would, well, then, you would, and it's correct.

This newest Extra was very cute, if a touch... cliché. I do imagine that having a heart attack would make it difficult to write, yes... and I do love the fifth panel. Oh, yes. I can definitely see you doing that.

I wonder which thoughtless cretin shouted out, "You suck, Pika!" in the last panel? How terrible! I've really no idea who that could be, but they should be punished. Really they should. You know what? I'm going to go find that horrible little idiot and give him or her a piece of my mind!

*walks off snickering, "Fool! Yes, you really suck, Pika. Mwahahahahaha!"*

Powarun: An HOUR?! I know each page is short, but... is that even possible? *gapes*

Wow. Um, thanks, Powarun! And welcome to our little group of readers! I'm glad you like the story so far, as baffling as it may be for those who don't recognize the myriad of references. Hopefully we'll see you here in the future! ^_^

Oh, and no one is irreplaceable. After all, Martin just got himself killed. Hopefully we'll find someone to take his spot...

Blade: You have lackeys? Who? I demand that you tell me, mercenary!

...And yes, everybody loves Eagle Eye. Buy an Eagle Eye BB Gun today!

Faiz: Are you one of his lackeys? Shame on you, Faiz! *glares*

Writing that way isn't always a good thing. In fact, it usually isn't a good thing. After all, it typically leads to inanities and insane twists. Both of which are often very good things.

The above paragraph made perfect sense. Almost as much sense, in fact, as Book Three!

Ada: Hooray for understatements! Yeah, Gavin's not in the best of moods. Probably not the best idea to send him on the warpath. And the mods are a little shorthanded... sometimes you've just got to cage the jailbird and go about more important business. Lockdowns are fun!

Maybe being half-asleep helps us unlock our subconscious. And looking at the clock only helps in certain situations. If you have something you have to do at a certain time, it's bad. But if it's something unimportant like sleep...

CEB: Headaches can be very inhibiting to the writing process. The more you try to think, the worse they get... now that's true torture.

So you're willing to drive 100 species into extinction for my sake? Tempting, but that might keep you from reading for awhile. I'll take the pat on the back, thanks.

I appreciate the well wishes. We'll be continuing shortly!

Gabi: I sacrifice myself for the good of the fic. But I don't think my body will-

    *clutches heart* O_O

Faiz: Enlightening, isn't it? Sometimes, you've just gotta snooze.

Charles: Eating a cow pie? But we've already filled our quota of sewer and toilet seat jokes!

    Phoenixsong: I understand what you mean. Other grammar constructs like punctuation still apply; however, you have to quote whatever is being said, whether or not it happens to be appropriate. And yes, I would say it that way. Especially when my space in the word bubble is so severely limited. ^_^;

Cliche is fun on occasion, although I try not to do it very often. As for the fifth panel, its accuracy is truly frightening.

Now who could that horrible little cretin be?

You'll pay for that, you little wretch!

Sike: My awesomeness is very amusing!

    Wait...

    Let us begin Book Three!

Cover #3: I'm pleased to say that this only took me a single night to make. Maybe I'm getting a little better at image editing.

Some of these characters should be easy to recognize. Others, like the Rurouni Kenshin star in the bottom right corner, may be a bit of a surprise. But why are there silhouettes framing the page?

The question of the silhouettes is a very easy one to answer: They're "generic guy" silhouettes cleverly set up in place of the actual characters they represent so we can't guess what's coming.

Hehe - I loved the extra, Brian. Very shameless. Yet also informative! I thought Ada's deadpan expression in the second panel was the best, closely followed by the fifth. "YES. I'LL STRIP NAKED. MARTIN MUST DIE." Hehe. A lovely wee insight.

As for the new cover page (the third - wow - I was right then) - it's surprisingly sparse. I expected more characters to appear on it, but I suppose they've all been on the other covers by now. So what we do have: Gavin (possibly representing the mods); Dark Sage (representing the rebels?); brown-haired person (???); and muscle-man (???). Plus the two silhouettes (aliens?) and a dramatic supernova. What could all this add up to? Probably a WAR! Yay. About time! The build up has been tremendous.
