Hey Brian! I'm still reading. Naturally. But I realised how long it's been since I replied - too long! So I'll get around to replying to the 10 or so pages I've missed soon (the longer I put it off, the more onerous a task it becomes). Just thought I'd post and let you know I haven't drifted away.

Faiz: Hey, if he's not enjoying it, that's his right. I'm hardly going to criticize anyone for it; rather, I'll look at what they say and consider it for further planning. Whether or not I actually follow advice is always a tough question, but it's certainly something I weigh heavily.

But what's the point of it all, anyway? Does it make any sense to have a full-scale invasion without a goal in mind? Maybe her future comments will be enlightening...

Poor Gavin. I hope he calms down enough to accept THE ALLIES OF RPG. Okay... I have no idea what state the RPG forum is in in this story, but STILL. XD XD I can dreeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam!!

Oh, and as the flamethrower... it's official title (well, as of now.. it's been upgraded many times since I first became a mod around seven or eight years ago... so THINK of the upgrade possibilities!) is Flarastorm Star V3.5. Star powered flames are the BEST! XD XD XD

I like how Ada talks some sense back into Pika. *nod nod* She's the more grounded character in this story I believe. Well... and maybe fuzzy eyebrow man. XD

#106: Hehe, I like panel 2 as well, and the title. What a mood swing for Brian... he was positively lethargic before! I thought panel 5 was a bit filler though; it randomly slowed the pace down and felt like it was there just to get six panels.

#107: Wow, Eyebrows is standing up to a mod! Well said. nice tactics with he and B4 as wll. But... why does everyone have a gun? Is Eyebrows carrying illegal weaponry? Do you need a gun to spam?

#108: I thuoght the speechlessness matched the impediment brought on by 'spam' nicely. Like how the pace goes all slow and stuff. I did think it a bit melodramatic that Gavin thinks spam is going to defeat him though. Surely it's jsut a minor setback?

#109: Wow, I really like Kalah's character after this. And Eyebrows as well. They're a nice bit of sanity in contrast to Brian adn Gavin's rashness. And I think Eyebrows might be our first pacifist. I really liked the title, and of course panel 6. made me laugh.

#110: eh, I guess I'm supposedly a more grounded character and it was true adn stuff, but I don't really like how 'I' dealt with that. Personally I'd leave pointing fingers until Gavin's safe. But I guess it's better than just letting Brian curse at the monitor, which wouldn't accomplish anything either. I still like this chapter though; good character development. I did think some of 'my' lines would be a bit awkward in real speech though.

I am currently catching up with this ... thing, and am enjoying every minute of it.
At the time of writing this, I've reached page 21, so the end is nearing, but I've still a long while to go.

Just wanted to say that, for the most part, my comments on the past pages of this webcomic have been rather similar to this.
And I just know there're just a few classic quotes and scenes in this comic I'll be sure to remember a while. ("I OWN YOU!", "Lil' Pika", "not so impressive now, hang on...", "alien hardcore pr0n")

And for the record, there's another webcomic I'm reading which doesn't nearly update as often as this one (the Heroes one), but I must say I enjoy them both evenly, even though I don't know all the characters here (meaning the avatars - of which I think I only know Memf0ur's so far - and the members they resemble alike).
Hey, I also thought fireguardian was firepokemon at first, though he probably wouldn't be nearly as succesful an editor.

Oh, and to conclude this post: TML's character is a cutey! Where do you buy those Pocky's?

Well, glad to finally have come this far.
I think it's about time we got to know "iBrowse"'s name, since you already pulled of sort of a Blademaster here, where everyone's thinking they know exactly who he is, and only some are right.

I for one think you've done a great job setting up the mods' characters. Maybe not so true to their real personalities, but that's what satire is all about. In any case, you had me holding my breath there a couple of times, most of the time to prevent myself from ROTFLOL.

And I'm beginning to see this stuff contains more stereotypes than you'd firsthandedly guess: there're the comic-relief guys (you and MH together would give some strong chemistry, even on a one-pager), the anti-hero, the deceased elder good-hearted leader with a white beard and strong mojo, the strong yet gorgeous females, and the noble wellfaring villain with his lackeys.

I doubt Gavin's thinking about building alliances right now. But with whom would he be allying, anyway?

As for Ada, well... every team has to have someone who approaches sanity, right?

Ada: Actually, I kind of liked panel five for the whole timing issue. I mean, I suppose I could've added a "..." bubble in there, but it was worth trying a new technique. Guess the "silent panel" didn't work in the middle. Ah well.

But iBrowse is gutsy! That's one heck of a move on his part... still, courage can be found on both sides of the battle. Is he a friend or foe? And not everyone has a gun. Martin didn't have one, and yet he was able to use multiple advanced techniques.

It actually wasn't my intent to portray spam quite in that manner, but you do make a good point. And yes, spam is a minor setback... apparently Gavin thinks it's enough to tip the battle in his opponents' favor. Besides, if B4 can give spamming infractions, what else can she do?

You're right about B4 and iBrowse being the rational ones in that scene. Almost makes you wonder who the real heroes are...

I guess Ada just thought that getting Brian to shut up was the top priority. Hard to say whether or not she was right; we'll see how it all works out. But which of your lines did you find unnatural? I mean, some of the words were a little long, but... well, I'm curious.

Which comic do you mean by the "Heroes" one, if I may ask? And I understand not knowing everyone involved in this - I don't think anyone other than me recognized the anime characters here, and this has also included a few lesser-known Fanficcers.

As for the pocky... when you're an alien with a spaceship, you can get to any store in a hurry. Better ask TML!

I plan to reveal iBrowse's identity fairly soon. Just want to get everything right with the plot sequence. But can you be sure that anyone's right?

Hehe, glad you like the mods. Yeah, some things aren't entirely accurate, but other things are closer to reality than you might guess. Especially the utter insanity of the Pika. Trust me. ^_^;;

There are indeed some stereotypes in this; good of you to notice them! But I think you'll find that many of these characters won't be quite so stereotypical in the near future. Hopefully.

Pocky's basically a Japanese snack. TML's been shown eating it on occasion in previous pages; it's usually made in the form of a long, narrow stick, just for reference. And we totally need to market iBrowse as a better internet application for the iPhone!

We were a little surprised at all the possibilities for TPM, as well. Filling in an acronym's blanks is a fun exercise.

Gavin could be a little kinder, but what would be the point of that? If they're gonna kill him, they're gonna kill him. And just what is this "TPM"?

But somehow I don't think iBrowse (where can I download him, anyway ;P) will leave without a metaphorical, or actual, kick in the groins for Gavin for being so biased against a meaning-well hot alien chick/marshal/researcher.

Hmm, and what could the TPMers have been researching? Maybe they're sort of like FF's version of the MIB, only they're from another planet? Perhaps there's still another alien on the loose - one that isn't so well-meaning for FF as TPM is. Has anyone from RPG ever come causing trouble in FF?

Especially since Gavin was basically the "representative" that B4 expected them to send. Doesn't it make sense to send the most rational one to confront someone of unknown intentions? On the other hand, this could still be part of their plot... whatever that is. And what's iBrowse's next move? Will he stay or will he go? Wouldn't you like to know?

We're trying to get the bugs out of iBrowse. He'll be out as soon as we complete beta testing on his identity. As for whether he'll take his chances with a parting shot, I'm hardly going to just tell you.

I actually wasn't referring to T_M_L in my last post, but to B4, actually, but speaking of which... we haven't seen her in a while, have we? Then again, looking through all the past pages, there's close to a dozen characters who've had but a one-time appearance until now: nominees at the FanFic Awards, Mewf0ur, the white silhoutted TPMers (excluding B4]).

Something I just noticed: you actually use # on the first page to denote numbers, but in italic, they turn into =/=-signs for me (I was confused at first, thinking "Now why would he call his first comic ≠1?").
Speaking of which, you might need to consider updating some of these bios: Jay, for instance, has been depicted as of recently.
And could you add fireguardian's bio, pwease? ^^'' I've been trying to find what Charles' plan was again to begin with (which was said on the same page fireguardian was featured in for the first time, IIRC), but I got lost in the TOC.

That Martin's death was a surprise for B4. No one watched Ada's announcement? Wow, she doesn't get much respect, does she?

Also, no one watched Ada's announcement of Martin's death except for Dark Sage? O.o Yeah, I agree with Lady Vulpix that she doesn't get much respect that she deserves. ^^

C-Master: Actually, I was referring to the political commentary following Ada's speech... guess I didn't make that very clear, though. Dang it. Had to pare down the words to make it fit in the image, so maybe I cut one too many. This is harder than it looks, I tell you! ^_^;;

You make a good point about B4. Intriguing possibility. As for the "one-time characters," I count eight if you consider one page to equal one appearance. And if you consider Mewfour's TV display to be a true second appearance. At any rate, there are plans in the works for just about everyone who's appeared so far. Hehehe...

Huh, I didn't realize the "#" would be displayed in such a way. I'll have to look into that. And you've noticed the lack of updates in the bios. Crud. I was hoping to stall for a little longer on that, but... now this is going to be even more interesting. Charles' original plan, however, was never explicitly mentioned. It has only been referenced in #96, #97, and #114.


Charles: Heh, thanks. You should know me better than that, though... such things are rarely so simple. Except when they are, and I merely try to make everyone think they're incredibly complicated. Which is it in this case?


Gabi: Ah, I see. And yes, Ada's big announcement went relatively unnoticed. But frankly, those of us living in the U.S. know how apt people tend to be to watch presidential press conferences. They're often considered more of an annoyance than anything else... which is rather sad.


Seadra: Yes, you've been keeping up with my thought process quite nicely! But what is going on inside that mind of Bulbasaur4's?

As for Ada's announcement, it's hard to say whether it was a respect issue or simply backlash from people who really wanted to watch the rest of Mewfour's rantings. When such a thing is interrupted, people can get irrationally upset.

While I partially derived the title from Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, please don't assume that I'm a fan of the series. Please.
